To show that we must remain as a House of Prayer for all nations not a marketplace or short-cut way.

Mark 11:17 (Amplified Bible)

11:17 And He taught and said to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? But you have turned it into a den of robbers.

V. THESIS:

Pray at all times.

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Mark, son of Mary of Jerusalem; referred to as John Mark

B. Date written: 58 B.C.

C. Purpose: To present JESUS of Nazareth as GOD's Suffering Servant, the Redeemer of the world

D. To whom written: Roman or Gentile Christians

E. Main Theme: CHRIST is the tireless servant of GOD and humanity.

F. Key word: Immediately

G. Key verse: Mark 10:45

Mark 10:45 (Amplified Bible)

10:45 For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for (instead of) many.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. He taught and said to them

"And He taught and said to them, Is it not written,"

The word used was "saying" in the Greek meaning:

1) to say, to speak

1a) affirm over, maintain

1b) to teach

1c) to exhort, advise, to command, direct

1d) to point out with words, intend, mean, mean to say

1e) to call by name, to call, name

1f) to speak out, speak of, mention

It was saying something that was already written or said long ago about Him speaking the exact words. CHRIST was just quoting the same words written for Him to say, it's a confirmation and validation.

Same words as intensified by: " Is it not written?"

Same phrase CHRIST said to the devil with a rebuke:

Matthew 4:4 (Amplified Bible)

4:4 But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.

Same phrase Pontius Pilate said to the chief priests: connoting something that has been written long ago and can't be disobeyed, or reversed.

John 19:21-22 (Amplified Bible)

19:21 Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews, but, He said, I am King of the Jews.

19:22 Pilate replied, What I have written, I have written.

Notice that chief priests was not instituted by GOD in the Old Testament, it must be "high priest", they can't be the high priest because the High Priest during their time was crucified to the cross at that moment, something to think about..

B. My House

"My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations?"

The word "house" in Greek means "dwelling", "home", "household" , "TEMPLE"

The references were: Isaiah 56:7, Jeremiah 7:11.

Isaiah 56:7 (Amplified Bible)

56:7 All these I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

Jeremiah 7:11 (Amplified Bible)

7:11 Has this house, which is called by My Name, become a den of robbers in your eyes [a place of retreat for you between acts of violence]? Behold, I Myself have seen it, says the Lord.

GOD is the One speaking in those verses, but our LORD said "My" saying He's the One speaking long ago to us and He's GOD.

7-11 is something that don't close, and with 24 hours service, later replaced with 24-7. The Local Church should be a living creature that never closes 24-7.

It's GOD's Glorious House, it's JESUS CHRIST's Glorious House, He owned the House and He's the Head of this House:

Isaiah 60:7 (Amplified Bible)

60:7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered to you [as the eastern pastoral tribes join the trading tribes], the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; they shall come up with acceptance on My altar, and My glorious house I will glorify.

My House should be used to honor GOD's House alone and nothing and no one else. But nowadays, ever since the time of julius caesar who they claim they're divine was brought to their knees because they met the KING of kings and LORD of lords, the One GOD in their faces, but until now it has never changed the politicians still calls their positions "house" of representatives, lower "house", upper "house" as if they're god and their position as their temple. Something to think about, they don't know that they're blaspheming GOD with these names that only GOD deserves to be called.
