A. In those days, there's no king in Israel

"In those days there was no king in Israel;"

Treat GOD as our KING for He is. If not, your life will be ruined by wrong motives and wrong thoughts because you thought there's no one ruling your heart for you.

In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.

IN THOSE days there was no king in Israel. And in those days the tribe of the Danites sought for itself an inheritance to dwell in, for until then no [sufficient] inheritance had been acquired by them among the tribes of Israel.

IN THOSE days, when there was no king in Israel, a certain Levite was living temporarily in the most remote part of the hill district of Ephraim, who took to himself a concubine [of inferior status than a wife] from Bethlehem in Judah.

The LORD GOD ALMIGHTY the FATHER GOD is the KING unless you don't know what's said in His Words. The reason why Israel thought to himself there's no king, it's because they have no GOD during those days.

Psalms 95:3 (Amplified Bible)

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Psalms 145:1 (Amplified Bible)

[A Psalm] of praise. Of David. I WILL extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever [with grateful, affectionate praise].

Jeremiah 10:10 (Amplified Bible)

But the Lord is the true God and the God of truth (the God Who is Truth). He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth quakes, and the nations are not able to bear His indignation.

B. In those days, every man did what was right in his own eyes

"every man did what was right in his own eyes. "

Every man for himself, every man doing what he thinks right in his own eyes spells C-H-A-O-S.

Judges 18:7 (Amplified Bible)

Then the five men departed and came to Laish and saw the people who were there, how they dwelt securely after the manner of the Sidonians, quiet and feeling safe; and there was no magistrate in the land, who might put them to shame in anything or injure them; and they were far from the Sidonians and had no dealings with anyone.

Deuteronomy 12:8 (Amplified Bible)

You shall not do according to all we do here [in the camp] this day, every man doing whatever looks right in his own eyes.

Psalms 12:4 (Amplified Bible)

Those who say, With our tongues we prevail; our lips are our own [to command at our will]—who is lord and master over us?

Proverbs 3:5 (Amplified Bible)

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

Proverbs 14:12 (Amplified Bible)

There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 (Amplified Bible)

Rejoice, O young man, in your adolescence, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your [full-grown] youth. And walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

Micah 2:1-2 (Amplified Bible)

WOE TO those who devise iniquity and work out evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they perform and practice it because it is in their power.

They covet fields and seize them, and houses and take them away; they oppress and crush a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.

That's why men at a young age, are thought to value GOD's Words and consult it from time to time, because that's the only WORD that can keep him from trouble. Learn and meditate GOD's Words, you will be thankful to GOD that you did in your younger years.
