I. EXORDIUM:

Can you do anything for yourself?

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believers

III. OBJECTIVES:

To show that GOD can do everything for us.

IV. TEXT:

Luke 18:27 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”

“O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!

V. THESIS:

Men brought the impossible, LORD JESUS CHRIST all things are possible.

VI. TITLE:

Nothing Impossible with GOD

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Dr. Luke, The Beloved Physician (close friend and traveling companion of Paul)

B. Audience: Theophilus (Greek means friend of GOD, a Christian)

C. Purpose: To give a connected and orderly narrative of the life of CHRIST as seen by eyewitnesses

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Impossible came from Greek word "adunatos" meaning unable, weak, could not do, not possible

B. Possible came from Greek word "dunatos" meaning powerful, capable, able, could, power, strong

C. Impossible things That GOD have already done for us: (With men)

1. Salvation is impossible - Matthew 19:25-26

The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked.

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

2. Healing is impossible - Acts 14:8

While they were at Lystra, Paul and Barnabas came upon a man with crippled feet. He had been that way from birth, so he had never walked. He was sitting

3. Law is impossible to save us from sin - Romans 8:3

The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving His Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

So God has given both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

D. With GOD, all things are possible: LORD JESUS CHRIST is our answer.

1. GOD provided Salvation thru CHRIST - 2 Corinthians 5:21

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

2. GOD provided Healing thru CHRIST - 1 Peter 2:24

He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.

3. CHRIST removed our condemnation - Romans 8:1

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

4. GOD can save the backsliders again - Hebrews 6:20

Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

5. We have great confidence in His Promises because GOD can't lie - 2 Corinthians 1:20

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
