Oh, To Be Filled

Summary: Tired of trying it in your own strength? Received the Holy Ghost since you have believed? Why not?
OH, TO BE FILLED
Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?
Why is it so important to be filled with the Holy Ghost?
Why is it so important for God’s Spirit to be in you?
Several reasons and we may discuss them this morning, but the main reason is that:
People are won to the Lord by the fruit of that Spirit.
You see, people are the theme of God’s program.
The fruit of the Spirit that draws people to God is
Gal 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love*, joy, peace, longsuffering, (patience) gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
*Rom 5:5
the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
*abroad- In circulation; (It circulates from God through us to others, causing them to love God and around it goes again.)
If you have not received the gift yet, then here is the formula.
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
His mission?
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,(He is going to take you through character building places, valleys and dry places, crisis, and maybe even some sicknesses. But as you trust God through them you will have become more like Jesus.) and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
8 When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; 10 in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. NIV
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me

that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
What part does the Holy Ghost play in revival? EVERY PART
I have already discussed the fruit that comes from a Holy Ghost revival, the;
The reason you need Him,
The formula to receive Him,
His mission,
What summons Him? It is the hungering and thirsting after His righteousness.
What effect would He have on this church if we would collectively hunger and thirst after Him?
If that were to happen, this church will not be the same any more.
How can we receive a refilling?
It will only come the same way it did on the day of Pentecost.
By us all being in one accord:
Acts 2:1,4
2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Look at the benefits of being in one accord.
Direction,
Acts 1:24,26
24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Great fellowship and favor with the lost,
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
The refilling came the same way as the first infilling,
Acts 4:24,31
24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord,
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
