Summary: Praising God is essential to our walk with The Lord.

Principles of Praise

Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Revelation 4:11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, this is what I am going to be talking about tonight, The Principles of Praise.

If you have Your Bibles Please Stand In Reverence to The Reading of the Word. Please turn to Acts chapter 16 and we will start at verse 23, when you get there say “There is Power in My Praise”

Acts 16:23-27 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: 24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. 5 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

You May Be Seated, Bro Smith, Will You Pray.

Praise Is What I Do

(1)

Praise is what I do;

when I want to be close to You.

I lift my hands in praise.

Praise is who I am,

I will praise Him while I can;

I’ll bless Him at all times.

And I vow to praise You,

Through the good and the bad.

I’ll praise You whether happy or sad.

I’ll praise You in all that I go through;

Because praise is what is what I do.

Cause I owe it all to You!

(2)

Praise is what I do;

Even when I’m going through;

I’ve learned to worship You!

No my circumstance

Doesn’t even stand a chance

My praise outweighs the bad.

And I vow to praise You,

Through the good and the bad.

I’ll praise You whether happy or sad.

I’ll praise You in all that I go through;

Because praise is what is what I do.

Cause I owe it all to You!

Praise is what I do!

Is what I do!

WE can walk into the house of God week after week and punch the time clock, make sure our name is on the role call, or at least the prayer list; sit on our comfy pew and fold our arms, but by doing this we are closing the windows of heaven on our lives. We will be missing out on many opportunities that God has for us with that attitude. If we just step out of our precious little comfort zone, lift our hands and give him some praise and worship, answering his call tonight, we might reopen some of those closed windows. News Flash Folks, the Blessings of God are not mandatory, they are a privilege, if God doesn’t want to bless you he don’t have to, so stop getting mad at God because you didn’t get that raise you have been whining about or that new car, maybe if you sent up a little praise to the king before you start saying gimmegimmegimme you might actually get something from him!

Praise is not a request, its a commandment, the more we praise and worship Him, the more on fire we are, Jesus said Rev. 3:15&16 "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold or hot, I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. It is up to us whether we be hot with praise or cold with conformity

Psalm 47:1 Clap your hands all ye people, shout unto God with a voice of triumph".

Ps 18:3 “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised.”

Psalm 134:2 "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord".

(that doesn’t sound like a suggestion.)

I don’t know about you but I’ve got to Praise Him, if you don’t have a reason to praise him in mind here are just a few:

Because He’s Almighty, because He Blesses you, because He Cares for you, because He Delivered you, because He Erased the penalty of sin that was against you, because He Forgave during repentance, because He Gave you eternal life, because He Hears your hearts cry, because He Keeps you, because He is a repairer of the breach, Because of His Mercy, because He will Never left you, because He has Opened doors for you, because He Paid the price for you when he took your place at Calvary, because he Redeemed you, because He Saved and Sanctified you, because of His Undying love for you, because He gives you the Victory!! Oh some body ought to praise in this place… Why? Because there’s Power In Your Praise saint of God.
