Why Do You Celebrate Christmas

Why do you celebrate Christmas? Are you celebrating it for the right reasons or are you just falling in line with the rest of the World.

When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds {began} saying to one another, "Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us." So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.
I. Types of People that Don’t celebrate Christmas.
A. The King Herod
a. They do not want to answer to anyone
b. Their pride is a stumbling block
c. There failure to want to change stops them from having a relationship with God.
B. The Crowd in the Inn.
a. Too busy with Self.
b. Can’t stop to get to know God
c. Christmas means nothing more gifts and eating
II. Types of People that celebrate Christmas
A. Family
a. The first reason why many people come to Christ is because of the example set by their family
b. Mary and Joseph, were a great example for Jesus.
B. The Shepherds
a. "Fear", got their attention
b. They were in Fear from the first sight of the angels
c. Many people come to Christ because they fear Hell!
C. The Wise men
a. They may not have been there right away, but they knew where they had to go.
b. They came because they knew the facts of the O.T. prophecy and signs in the scriptures
c. Becoming a Christian is the intelligent choice! Wise men still seek Christ.
Closing
So here is the brief Christmas outline. There are three reasons why people come to Christ: Family, Fear, and Facts. Why did you come to Christ?
