This morning I want to discuss... BEING PERSISTENT
Nothing great has ever been accomplished without... PERSISTENCE
Any person in the Bible who ever did anything GREAT FOR GOD.. Was persistent
Noah... Worked on Building the Ark... 100 Years
Even when no one believed... He was Persistent
Abraham... I’m going to give you a child in your old age...20 years pass... NOTHING
Stayed true to God... God asked him to give up the SON... PERSISTENT
David... Kept herding them Sheep...Practicing his Sling Shot
Killed a Philistine...
Every body wanted HIM TO BE KING... Except the KING
King tried to kill...HARP... David was persistent.... MIGHTY MAN OF GOD
God cares more about how we finish..
THAN HOW WE STARTED
NEW CHRISTIAN... ON FIRE
20 years later... BURNED OUT.... We have it backward
Get excited when we’re save... THEN GET BETTER
Persistence is 3 things:
1. Persistence is Bold—
Ephesians 3: 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.
Don’t be ordinary... Be different... BE BOLD
Great thing about FREEDOM.... We are bold
YOU LOVE US OR HATE US.... Why???? .... WE’RE BOLD
Enjoy what God has for you... You’re not an accident... Fearfully, Wonderfully Made
You are so valuable....
HE DIDN”T DIE TO MAKE YOU VALUABLE
He died to show you how valuable you are...
BE BOLD...LIVE LIFE
Your price tag is amazing...
YOU ARE WORTH...The death of God’s son
That’s valuable...you’re singing...
“I’M NO GOOD” say it again
You think he want you to just limp by... PERSISTENCE IS BOLD
2. Persistence Doesn’t hesitate– Acts 12: 7 Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly ” And his chains fell off his hands
Apparently being saved makes us indecisive
LEAD ON MY DESK-- "Let me see if I feel led"
Can’t make a decision....Be quick... Be decisive...
When my kids ask me to do something.... NO... YES
If I don’t answer that way.... They Have the Chance to Change My Mind
Christians are waiting for the world to change their mind...
If you want to be STRONG in the LORD...QUIT HESITATING

3. Persistence refuses to play the blame game....
John 10:18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”----- I don’t say... I don’t do... When it came to dying... I decide
Take responsibility for yourself... If you goofed up.. ADMIT IT
“Everywhere I go... THIS HAPPENS”... Well the Common Link is YOU

We all have things we could blame Childhood..Parents.. Abuse.. Spouse..Boss
