Getting To Know Him Part 1
Crossroads New Life Taberenacle is on a journey. Sunday night I felt as though I preached one of the most important messages in my entire ministry. I have had the spirit of prophecy on me and I want this church to know that God is moving us to a different level. He wants to revolutionize our thinking and bring us to a place in Him that we have never been. If we will follow Him in this Journey, He will give us whatever we ask. Since we began our 40 days of fasting, there has been something that he wants to show us, so we must keep seeking Him. Prayer & Fasting is the key!
Job 22:21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

Acquaint now thyself with Him…”Seek My Face.” It seems like everywhere I turn, I am seeing this phrase. Everything I read, I see this phrase. It has become part of my life since the Sunday it was spoken.
The enemy wants to strip this away from us. He does not want us to come close to knowing what this really means, so this gives us more reason to get closer to Him.

Eph 1:17-18
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Eph 1:17-19
17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

Here Paul prays to God to open our eyes and enlighten our understanding, so we will know where he has called us. It’s so awesome that God wants to give us understanding. I believe that understanding is power.
Jesus stood before Pilate and said, “You have no power except it be given to you from above, you can’t do anything to me, that’s not already planned out.” Pilate had power, but Jesus had understanding. When Pilate used his power, Jesus still rose triumphantly from the grave. Jesus understood and that gave Him the power to fulfill the will of God.
The enemy of this world may try to use it’s power, but if you have an understanding of Him, you will never have to worry. God is ready to fulfill His will, but I feel we need to get a revelation and knowledge of who he is…Just like Paul said, so that I may know Him better!
Ps 95:6-11
6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.
This chapter was written in two parts. Praise was verse 1-5 and verse 6-11 deal with Worship, or should I say, getting to know Him.
7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:
When we are wondering in the wilderness, He is wondering with us, hoping that we will change our minds. We are at a point of decision. Are we going to wonder around in what we know is not the Promise, or are we going to seek to know His ways.
11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Worship Flows from Divine Revelation. We must study God, not our doctrine, not what we are for or against, we must study God to Know Him. I have made statement after statement, that we need to know what we believe and why we believe it. It’s really not that important. I have found that if we know Him, there is not really much explaining that needs to be done. We are not trying to win people to our standard of dress, to our standard of worship, to our standard of prayer, we are trying win people to Jesus. If we have the attributes of God which is through Love, then not much explaining is needed.
This church will not go any higher than our concept (knowing) of Him. I believe God is saying, “Until you see Me clearly, not just parts of me, but Me in All, you will never learn how to worship Me.” Worship is the result of revelation!
Nelson’s Bible Dictionary defines REVELATION as God’s communication to people concerning Himself, His moral standards, and His plan of salvation.
When we believe everything God has said about himself, that is revelation. We can not worship something that we are not in awe over. I am afraid that we have become people who are familiar with Him. True worship is when we think more about Him than we do about anything else.
Until we have a revelation of God we cannot have a flow of true worship, and true worship is what we’re missing.
The lack of worship among us is what causes war. Revelation is required to birth true worship because only from true worship can come true service. If you try to avoid revelation you are aborting worship which causes us to turn into religious service. Our service becomes activity instead of spirituality. It’s movement instead of maturity. It’s worn-out saints instead of wonderful enlightened people.
We have people who don’t want to come to church versus people who can hardly stay away. The difference is the people who can hardly stay away have a revelation of Him and so it gives them a desire to Worship…Revelation keeps us wanting more!
Jesus was unique not just because He was God in the flesh, but because His being and doing was one in the same. He never had to alter or change to step into a scenario. What He was with children, He would be with devils. What He was on Tuesday, He would be on Saturday.
God is wanting us to get a true revelation of who He is. Usually when we say revelation we think of the last book of the bible. Revelation is spiritual illumination and insight.
The problem with the church we have our super heroes who preach wonderful messages and have so much revelation, but God is saying, I have given you that same ability. God wants everyone to walk in the light!
Daniel 11:32 “people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits”.
You know what happens when we really know God? We don’t have to strain to do great exploits. When we know God, His mind becomes our mind, His desire becomes our desire, and His drive becomes our drive.
Samuel said, “Speak Lord, I hear you.” He walked into God, but it didn’t stop there. What happens with us, is that we walk into God, and get comfortable and that’s it…
He wants us to know that when we walk in Him it’s expanding. It’s growing. You never stop growing, unless you are just dead!
Worship & Works is something we love to talk about.
We trade worship for works because works make us feel better about ourselves. It protects our image…
Bottom line
Worship is determined by our grasp of God’s greatness. Worship has only to do with the nature and person of God, it has nothing to do with the performances of God.
Praise is for the performance, Worship is just to know Him! Can I say that your worship will determine the degree and caliber of works…
