Summary: This sermons allows one to understand that one should not question God when He is using them to improve their life for the better, no matter how bad or tragic the situation gets.

My brothers and sisters we are living in the last and evil days, my brothers and sisters we are living in some crucial times. We are living in a time were everybody is in everybody’s business, We are living in a world where stuff is happening all over the world and our leaders are needing to step up and be leaders. We are living in a dog e dog and crab e crab society. We are living in a world were there is a lack of wise men in our land. Our children have a lack of Role Models, our sons have a lack of Fathers and our churches are lacking Pastors. Come on run with me, since I do not have time for a big introduction lets get right into our lesson.

Here in our text today we are examining Solomon’s wisdom. You do remember Solomon? He was David’s son by Bathsheba; he was chosen to rule over Israel and Judah. You remember Solomon who fell off in his old age because he had his heart turned away from God. You remember Solomon who loved those strange women, had those out of town lovers, and he married out of his kingdom. You do remember Solomon don’t you? Well here today in the text we are looking at the first example of Solomon’s wisdom.

One of the 1st things we see that as soon as Solomon had asked God for wisdom and it was granted, he was immediately tested in that area. (Is that not just like God?)

- soon as we pray about something we get tested in it

- soon as we declare victory in an area we get tested

- soon as we say that we not going to do this and that we get tested

- soon as a little extra money come in we get tested

- soon as we think we are over our stronghold we get tested, is that just like God?

So the Bible says that these two women came to King Solomon with a problem. And wouldn’t you know, it was a woman that came to the King first time out with difficult questions! (I do not mean to get side tracked)

Women know they can ask some difficult questions, can’t they? You know they love those who, what, when, where and why questions? Any men in here know that a woman can ask some questions? How bout any kids that know their momma can ask some questions? You know those W questions, come home a little later than you normally do or don’t be where your parents think you ought to be. 1st thing they say is, who was you with? What have you been doing? When are you coming home? Where have you been? Why you do this or why you do that? I am sure someone in here has had to answer these questions. Not only do the kids have to answer these questions, but some of us men have had to answer these difficult questions too. Some women have missed their calling, they should have been the Chief of Police, Fire Investigator or Private Detective. They can question you down let me tell you. I mean some of you mothers should have been on CSI, Hawaii Five O, Starsky and Hutch or Law and Order, somewhere; they would have never lost a case. These women know they can ask some tuff questions can’t they?

Back to our text, we investigate Solomon and this situation he was put in, we want to see if we can pick up on some of his wisdom and take it with us as he answers these tough questions. Want to see if Solomon can shed some insight on these women with these tough questions.

Who – The two prostitutes came to see Solomon.

They were not Godly people, they were not part of the Royal Court, they were not even two that had paid their tithes. We see that two ungodly people were 1st up to have their case tried by Solomon. Solomon did not have to deal with them if he did not want to, but he did, why? 1st of all we see that Solomon shows us his wisdom and the reason why God blessed him because God knew Solomon would not get the big head and turn his face from the people who needed him the most. Solomon dealt with the people right where they were, he did not wait for them to get right. God loved them, so he showed concern and love for them just like God does.

A. 1st thing we learn from these women and from Solomon is that we need to start showing concern for people that we come in contact with where they are at. Just because they are not Godly, does not mean that we do not deal with them, we do not wait to get them at church on Sunday morning before we can bless there lives, we do not ask them questions on top of questions.

- We got that bad, frowning on people who are not up to our level. How many times a crack head or an alcoholic has come up to us and we frowned on them and hurriedly got rid of them. How many times do we deal with people who we look down on or do not think meet our standards? How many times do we turn our backs on the man at the gas station begging for change?

- But let us go to Wal-mart and see Deacon So and So or Sister Talk-A-Lot from around the corner. We will stop and talk twenty minutes with them about nothing; When we should be spending more time with the unsaved. We need to spend more time with those who would not normally come in contact with Jesus and we could be their only shot.

B. Then we see that Solomon showed his wisdom in the fact that he took time to deal with them.

- He spent time dealing with situations that he did not have to deal with. He could have turned his head and said, I am having a good day, God is good and I do not need any trouble, but yet and still he did not complain, but listened to what they had to say.

- He did not sit on his gift, he did not have to make any appointments, he did not say get back with me when I got time, he did not say we need to have a meeting, he did not say let me call the police because this is a civil matter, he did not turn them away, but when the questions came up, he answered them.

What – What did the prostitutes want?

They wanted the King to pass judgment, they wanted the King to use his wisdom, they wanted the King to stop what he was doing and answer some tough questions, they wanted the King to solve their problem.

Next thing I see the Harlots teach us is that they came to him.

There is a lesson to be learned there.

At least they came to the right person.

Most of us do not run to the King when we have problems to be solved.

Matter fact Jesus is the last one to hear about the case.

After we have tried everything else, then we say “oh yea” we might as well go to the church and see what they have to say about it.

But first thing we try to do is figure it out for ourselves don’t we?

But they did not argue all morning about it, they did not call for a blood test, they did not mess around. They went to a man who cold solve their problems.

(Lol) That could not have been us though.

Matter of fact, if it would have been one of us the corner would have been picking up two bodies, Rufin & Jarret would have had some more business, nobody better not mess with our kids. Because we will act of fool over our kids won’t we? No matter how wrong they may be, No matter how bad they have messed up, No matter what crime they have committed, you better not put your hands on those nappy headed kids.

We would have had to go see Solomon for a different reason, he would have been telling us how many years we would be getting and what prison we would serve them in.

But yet and still the women still came.

That is the lesson there, They Still Came!

(Just for free) The Bible says down in verse 20 that the woman came and took her child at midnight.

- Don’t stuff always happen in the midnight hour?

- Mommas stuff didn’t just start to happen at midnight to our kids, but way back

then the stuff was happening at the midnight hour.

- The devil do not have any new tricks! He still causes havoc at midnight.

- That is why Christians do not have no business out all times of the night.

- Y’all know the freaks come out at night.

- They devils imps come out at night.

- He is waiting to trick us up over in the middle of the night.

- The devil loves to cause trouble at the midnight hour

- We all have had some night time experiences, but our prostitutes teach us that when we have our midnight experiences, we need to run to the Lord, we need to run to the King of Kings to answer our questions, we need to go to the Lord of Lords, our strong tower, our rock, our way out of no way, our bridge over troubled water, our hope for tomorrow, our bread in a barren land, we need to go to Jesus in the midnight hour.

Not only do we find out who came, and what they wanted, but also….

When – When did the prostitutes come?

1st we see that Solomon had not too long been crowned king and just got married; Right after God elevated Solomon.

The Bible said that Solomon threw a feast or in other words he threw a party.

- Ain’t that just like God? In the middle of our good times, he tests us.

Solomon did not even have time to celebrate, or to go on his honeymoon, or even kick back and bask on the fact that God was pleased with him when he finished his first test.

- Notice his first test was not a battle or a test of strength, but the very thing he had just talked to God about, the very thing he had just been blessed with, the very gift God had just bestowed on him was put to the test.

- Quit looking for God to test you in areas you are already strong in. He is going to try you in that very area that is untested.

Look at the text!

- Verse 15 said that he sacrificed burnt offerings and a peace offering, then he gave a feast for all his court

- Then the very next vs. said, now here come two prostitutes!

- Ain’t that a trip? Isn’t that just like God? I mean as soon as you come off the mountain top, as soon as you come off your high, as soon as you come out of the shouting good time at church, now here come that Monday morning devil to test you. Now here comes that drama! Now here come somebody that you do not want to deal with, now here come that bill, now here come that trouble, now here come that fight with your man, or that fight with your women.

- See the devil do not play fair, the devil knew Solomon’s weakness

- Just like he knows our weakness, he will keep on plugging at you until he get you,

he will keep on putting what you like in your face.

- He will wait till you come off your mountain top experience, he will wait to you have your little celebration party, he will let you get your praise on all day Sunday, then as soon as you get to work or soon as you get home, or soon as you get in the car or soon as you come out the pulpit, he is waiting on you.

- Soon as you get around your friends he is waiting on you, as soon as you think you can relax he is waiting to test you.

(just for free)

Keep in mind Solomon 1st test was with women, but do you remember what his down fall was? Women! Satan will keep on working on you till he wears you down.

Where – Where did the prostitutes go to?

They came on Holy ground with worldly stuff. They came to the church with their problems. The church did not have to come to them because they went to the church. So stop tripping out when people come to church with their problems, it is our job! It is not our place to judge them and tell them how they should dress or that their job does not qualify them to participate in the benefits of church. We suppose to accept them in.

Then look how they came. They came unannounced, and did not even bow in the presence of the King. The Bible never said they were announced or nothing.

- Then the Bible never said they showed any kind of respect to the King, they did not come bowing, or apologizing for crashing the party or humbly, none of that.

- You don’t just come to the king any kind of way. You don’t just enter into the presence of the king any ole way.

- See back in those days it was customary that you bowed when you entered royalty’s presence. Look at 1 King 1:16, When Bathsheba went to talk to David about Solomon being made King. (which was his baby momma), even she bowed before she spoke to the King, she showed respect. These women came and they did not bow or nothing, no reverence, no respect, they just started talking.

- Kind of like we do when we go to God with problems. We just fall up in his presence anyway; we just go to the throne of God anyway, no respect for him. No respect of reverence, No “Our Father, which are in heaven”, none of that. No Praise and Worship, nothing, we just go with our hand out. “Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie”. Lord solve my problems; help me in my midnight hour.

- But just like God, Solomon still hears them. That is how we suppose to be when people come to the church for help. We don’t turn them away because they did not stand during the scripture reading or because they are sitting during the offering, or because they are dipping when they should be dabbing, they do not come here for formalities, they come here for help!

We see who came, what they wanted, when they came, where they came from and now we find out………

Why – Why did the prostitutes come?

Here is another interesting question that theses harlots can help us with.

- Now these women were street ladies (pause); we all know that street girls answer to a different God. They suppose to answer to a different King. They have their own “man” they go see.

- Some kings call themselves Bishop Don Wan, others call themselves Huggy Bear or Velvet Jones or Mack daddy, you all know who I am talking but

- The first person they should have been going to was not the man of God, but to their pimp!

- The person they spent their time with, the person they worship and the person they work for.

- Maybe he had the day off, or maybe he was busy, or maybe one of the kids was his so he would have been bias. Or it could be that they had more sense than we give them credit for. Maybe they knew the man of God was the only one who could help them.

- Maybe they knew that man would let them done, but they could go to God and he would make everything alright.

- Maybe they knew that the joy they had, the world did not give it and they world can not take it away.

- Maybe they knew that the joy of the Lord is their strength

- Maybe they knew that the name of the Lord was a strong tower that the righteous run into and they are safe

So as I get ready to close I think it is important that we learn the most important valuable lesson from our two new friends in our text today.

As I get ready to leave you now I want you to get this last and final point, which sums up all the lessons that we have learned today.

Can any good lesson be learned from a prostitute?

- As we learn our last lesson from our two unusual suspects we need to know that the most important message of all and that is that we should immediately go to God 1st before we run to man for answers to our problems.

- We should go to God 1st before going to our pimps

- We should go to God 1st before calling our baby momma or our baby daddy.

- We should go to God 1st before we call Tyrone

- We should go to God 1st before we call our homeboy or home girl.

- We should go to God 1st before we run to anyone else.

- We should go to God before we run to marijuana

- We should go to God before we run to Budweiser

- We should go to God before we go to Sam’s town

- These women came to the man of God before there was a homicide committed.

- They came to God before there was a suicide committed

- They came to God before someone got shot

- They came to God before someone got stabbed

- They came to God before someone got High

- They came to God, because Jesus is the only one that can help them

- These women wanted the man of God to help them. Do we go to God for help? Do we want God to help us?

- Or do we figure God is too busy for our arguments and our fights?

Good morning saints, I got one more question for you?

Who else can handle a problem like God can? Why would you go to anybody but God for all your needs?

- What can wash away your sins, nothing but the Blood of Jesus

- What can make you make whole again, nothing but the Blood of Jesus

- Who is the King of Glory, the Lord God is strong and mighty

- The Lord is the strength of my life whom shall I fear, and whom shall I be afraid.

- That is why I look to the hills from which cometh my help, cause all of my help cometh from the Lord.

That is all these prostitutes are trying to show us this morning is to put your trust in Jesus. No matter what comes my way, I will trust in the Lord.

No matter what problems await you in the midnight God can work them out.

There have been times when Satan has risen up against me and my life, but I always go to God.

- Like these prostitutes, I know about losing a son. In 94 somebody rolled over on my child, and I had a midnight experience. I went to God with these same questions…

- But you know what he said? He told me who he was, he is the author and finisher of my faith; he is my alpha and omega, the beginning and the end.

- Told me the reason why he took him was because he was ready and I was not, he took him to give me a chance to get right

- Told me I am going to see him by and by, When the morning comes, when all the saints of God will be gathering home, he is going to tell the story of how we over come and we will understand it better by and by.
