Summary: Helps in directing a young persons walk with Christ.

This passage gives us a very simple but sometimes hard outline for us to follow as human beings to receive direction in and for our lives.

I. The first step we need to follow to receive direction from the Lord is "Trust in the Lord with all of our heart." Trust means: Webster says: " Having a firm belief or confidence in the honesty, integrity, reliability, justice, etc. of another person or thing."

the Trail of life.

II. The second step we need to follow to receive direction from the Lord is "Lean not on our own understanding." When we rely on just our own understanding we always have failures, but when we lean on our Lord’s understanding we find success. Why does it seem that we always leave the Lord as our last resort instead of our first contact? Jeremiah 33:3 says: " Call upon Me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and might things which thou hast not known."

III. The third step we need to follow to receive direction from the Lord is "acknowledge Him in all our ways." Webster says that acknowledge means, "to recognize the authority of." We need to acknowledge God as Lord of Lord and King of Kings. He is in authority over all things.

Conclusion:

When we have taken all three of the steps required then we will be directed by the Lord in the areas of life’s path. He did not promise that the path of life would be all rosy without any thorns or without any stones to cause us to trip and fall. He did promise that He would be with us to direct us down the path of life as long as we take all three step.
