Summary: Signs of CHRIST return are everywhere. What kind of an effect are these signs having on you? Do they concern you? Do they move you to take care of some last minute details?

LAST MINUTE DETAILS

Matt 24:44

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

It is obvious to the earnest believer that the coming of the Lord is very near. Bible predicted signs are all around us. Politically worldwide, unnatural weather patterns, science, and the behavior of mankind.

(The Message)

2 Tim 3:1-5

3 Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. 2 As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, 3 dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, 4 treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. 5 They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.

They’ll make a show of religion.

This tells that the signs of Christ coming is just as evident in the church, if not more so, as it is in the world.

One of my concerns that there are so many Christians with motion sickness, just as they were in Jesus’ day.

Mark 7:6-7

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

9 But in vain they do worship me,

(The Message)

Mark 7:6-7

….These people make a big show of saying the right thing,

but their heart isn’t in it.

7 They act like they are worshiping me,

but they don’t mean it.

They just use me as a cover.

John 4:23-24

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Spirit-Strong loyalty and dedication:

Truth-Sincerity.

So, the signs of His return are everywhere.

What kind of an effect are these signs having on you?

Do they concern you?

Do they move you to take care of some last minute details?

The world is drunk on pleasure and too many Christians are asleep in the pews.

Are you sober and aware?

Luke 17:26-31

26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Let me read some related Scriptures as to why we should get our last minute details taken care of.

For you see there will be no immediate warning.

Matt 24:27

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

1 Cor 15:52

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Matt 24:44

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Rev 22:7

7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

Rev 22:12

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Rev 22:20

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Heb 10:37

……he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

What would be the last minute details that you would need to take care of?

1. How about making personal preparations?

2 Cor 13:5

5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

2 Cor 13:5 NIV

5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you-unless, of course, you fail the test?

Is your heart completely surrendered to Jesus.

Do you need deliverance?

Do you have ill feelings toward others?

Have you kept your promises to God?

Going to church is not enough.

The five wise and foolish virgins tell us that some religious people are not going to make it.

Matt 7:21

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven.

Ps 139:23-24

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Cor 7:1

7:1 ..... let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2. Leave no one behind.

I think the church is asleep while souls are dying.

I think its time to awake out of our sleep because there is so much to do.

Souls are dying and at any price we should do what we can to save them.

We are wasting precious time, and time is growing late. Hurry.

Luke 14:16-23

16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

I read one study that said that the typical Christian does not lead one person to Christ in their lifetime.

Mark 13:33

33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
