Summary: As believers we can access our shortage of wisdom, access our source of wisdom, and ask for our supply of wisdom.

Introduction

This evening as we continue our messages from Ephesians 1:5-8 we what Believers can do. Please stand as we read from God’s Holy Scriptures.

Prayer

1. As Believers we can assess our shortage of

wisdom (verse 5a)

Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus

Christ to Himself,

A. Life’s circumstances will surface our shortage

of wisdom.

B. When we realize our need for wisdom we can

begin to seek it from God.

2. As Believers we can access our source of wisdom

verse 5b)

according to the good pleasure of His will,

A. God is our source of wisdom.

B. God is generous in giving wisdom.

C. God does not criticize us for our failure to use

wisdom He has given previously.

3. As Believers we can ask for our supply of wisdom

(verses 6-8)

6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which

He has made us accepted in the Beloved.

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the

forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of

His grace

8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom

and prudence, Ephesians 1:5-8

A. Clearly believers are encouraged to ask for

wisdom.

B. Believers must ask in faith if we are to receive

wisdom.
