God is with us all the time!

Matthew 28:20

I want to assure you that He is Emmanuel, "God with us!" I want us to look at the times that God is with us: My wife and I have traveled and ministered in over 125 countries in the past 45 years and we can testify to the fact God is always with His children no matter where they go. Perhaps that is why David said in Psalms 139: 7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. He is Emmanuel not only at Christmas but 24/7.

I. God is with us when we are tempted to quit and give up;

Exo 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. Exo 14:11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Exo 14:12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. Exo 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will show to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. Exo 14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

A. A sure defeat was turned into victory because the Lord was with them.

B. Sometimes we need good strong leaders to point this out.

C. This is why we need the Word and to meet often in the house of the Lord.

II. God is with us when there are needs in our lives.

(Hebrews 13:5). Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

A. Have a positive confession; confess what God says about your needs.

Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

B. We may not have everything in life we want, but we do have the Lord. He is right there with us all the time. He sees all our needs and He will meet every one of them in His own time and in His own way.

III. God is with us when we are lonely.

A. We need to remember the words of Jesus. Matt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen

B. He is with us forever. "Let a man go away or come back: God never leaves. He is always at hand and if he cannot get into your life, still he is never farther away than the door."

Eckhart ( 1260-C. 1327)

IV. God is with us in difficult times.

Exo 3:12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.

A. Moses was stuck in Egypt.

1. God is talking about when they are out of Egypt.

2. The Lord in difficult times can show us the way and He is the Light to our path.

3. O God, if in the day of battle I forget Thee, do not Thou forget me. William King

V. God is with us in times of danger

Isa 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee .Isa 43:3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Isa 43:4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

A. Danger? Look what God says to us.

1. He created us.

2. He redeemed, bought us back.

3. Calls us by name. He knows all about us.

4. We are His.

5. We are precious in His sight.

6. He calls us honourable.

7. The best part, He has loved us.

"God’s investment in us is so great he could not possibly abandon us." Erwin W. Lutzer 1941

"Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that you and I cannot handle."

God bless you and yours.
