A TIME TO REMEMBER: BLESS THE LORD AND FORGET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS

*****************************************************************************

1.WAYS

We must remember the ways the Lord has led us so far . We must not forget the lessons that the Lord has taught us in our journey. The Lord taught the Israelites in their journey through the wilderness that they could live on the word of God even when there is no source of human help. The Lord met all their needs in a supernatural way. He taught them to obey His commands and trust in Him alone.

DEUTERONOMY 8:2-4

Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years.

PSALM 119:15

I will meditate on Your precepts,And contemplate Your ways.

2.WORKS

We must remember the works of the Lord in the lives . The Lord is working in our lives to fulfill His will and purpose .He makes all things work together for good . He is working in our lives to make us like Christ. We must not forget His works in our lives and realise that He will complete the good work He has began in our lives as we yield ourselves to Him.

That they may set their hope in God,And not forget the works of But keep His commandments;

They did not keep the covenant of God;They refused to walk in His law,

And forgot His works And His wonders that He had shown them.

3.WONDERS

We must remember the wonders and the miracles that the Lord has performed in our lives. This will fill our hearts with gratitude and thanksgiving. As we remember the wonders of God in our lives , we would have a strong faith and confidence to face the future. The Lord who delivered us in the past would surely do the same in the future. David remembered how the Lord delivered him from the lion and the bear and it gave him confidence when he faced Goliath. Jesus rebuked the disciples because they became people of little faith and did not remember the miracles of provision that the Lord had performed in the past. When we forget the wonders that the Lord has done for us , our faith will become weak and we will face the future with fear and anxiety.

Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.

The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you."

MATTHEW 16:8-10

Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, "You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread?

I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.

We must not allow the devil to deceive us and steal our blessings . We must not accept the attacks of satan to destroy as though it is the will of God. The will of God is to bless us and prosper us and deliver us . We must not forget the will of God for us and claim all the blessings that the Lord wants to give us.
