Summary: Faith in Focus ...although it is a good ground the reason some were not yielding a hundred , because they wait for the ground to do its job.

Mat 13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

I grew up in place where the big mangoes were harvested. When I was still a child ,we used to grow mango without using any chemical spray, I remembered the time when my father would take me to the mountains to cut branches of pine trees, and used it to smoke mango tree , putting away those insects that may harm the fruits. We did that many times, and after months of waiting and patienceEwe will be eating those big yellow mangoes which tasted so sweet.

In the parable of the sower In Mat.13 ,the good ground yielded different kinds of harvest, some thirty, some sixty and others a hundredfold return. If this ground is good ,how come all did not yield a hundred fold harvest . The Holy Spirit revealed that although it is a good ground the reason some were not yielding a hundred , is because they wait for the ground to do its job.

Our walk with the Lord is same with that. Although we love the Lord ,we attend church faithfully, we give our tithes, but when we do not cultivate our walk with the Lord we might end up yielding thirty instead of a hundred.

The gospel of Luke in 8:8 is so direct he never mentioned the thirty ,sixty fold, but went to tell us the secret of a hundredfold harvest. In Luk 8:15EBut that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Here are the three things the Lord told us to have to receive a hundredfold harvest

1.Keep an honest and good heart- An honest person has no one to fear and no one to hide to. Honesty give him a smooth walk in life. In short his honesty cleared all obstacles that might possibly arise. It takes prayer to give us clean heart always, David prayed to God create in him a clean heart (Ps 51:10)

2. Seize the Word and hold on no matter what happenE

It means believing Gods word even though the current situation betray what you believe. It takes patience of a farmer to do it (James 5:7-8)

3. Stick with it until there s a harvest. Sometimes you must want it to received it.It takes force on your part as those who advance Gods kingdom( Mat 11:12)

The seed will have no problem growing in good ground but without proper care ,nourishment, and patience we might missed the opportunity of harvesting the best fruit.
