Summary: WE CAN BELIEVE WHAT GOD HAS SAID

THE TRUE SCRIPTURES: 10-27-07 2ND TIM. 3:16-17

Today we’ll talk just for a little while about the true WORD of God. There are several so called bibles on the market today and it seems as though there are many people that don’t realize that there is only One True Bible for the English speaking people, they seem to believe that some of the others are much easier to understand.

Please have you a pen and paper ready, today I want to tell you and show you some of the many errors in the NIV and if you’re a genuine believer you trash your NIV if you might have one.

2ND TIM. 3:16-17 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Unbelievers dismiss the scriptures as the work of men. And many of those who profess to believe in God have also lost their respect for the Bible.

"All Scripture..."

The word "scripture" refers to those "holy scriptures” sacred writings" that Paul mentions in vs. 15.

“Scripture,” is not just any writings, but those that are inspired of God. They are called "prophecy of scripture" in 2nd pet. 1: 21 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Do you think that any verses in the bible should be removed? Do you think the Lord Jesus meant what He said in Rev.22: 18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

If you have your pen & paper ready I want you to jot these scripture references down that I’m about to give you.

Listen; the NIV has taken completely out of the bible these verses that I’m about to give you.

In our KJ bible we find these verses:

Matthew 17:21 howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”

Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”

Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer.”

Now remember these verses are not in the NIV

Mark 7:16, “If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.”

Mark 9:44, “Where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched.”

Mark 11:26, “But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in Heaven forgive your trespasses:”

Luke 23:17, “For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.”

Remember these verses are left out of the NIV.

John 5:4, “For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.”

Acts 8:37, “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

These verses are completely left out of the New International Version. (NIV)

The reason being the NIV used two Roman Catholic texts, Vaticanus and Sinaiticus as leading authority.

Where as our King James Bible came from a totally different group of manuscripts: “Textus Receptus”

The Received Text was completed as early as 150 A.D. It came from Antioch in the Roman province of Asia.

It is known as The Syrian, Antiochan or Peshitta version. Martin Luther translated it into German and William Tyndale into English.

Tyndale’s Bible became the foundation of The King James Bible, first published in 1611 A.D.

Prom the very start, the Roman Catholic papacy opposed TheReceived Text.

Remember, The Lord closes out His Word with these words:

Revelation 22:19 “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy. God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life and out of the holy city and from the things which are written in this book.”

--------

Listen to these verses as I read them from the KJV, and then from the NIV, listen how the true meaning is changed completely.

KJB- Psalm 10: 5. Is Speaking of the wicked “His ways are always grievous.”

NIV- “His ways are always prosperous.”

KJB- Ecclesiastes 8:10, 10And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten --

NIV- “The wicked, receive praise.

KJB- Isaiah 9:3, is talking about increasing the nation, “3Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy

NIV- “increased its joy.” -------- Totally opposite

KJB- Colossians 2:18, “intruding into the things which he hath NOT SEEN.”

NIV- “what he has seen.” --Completely opposite of the truth.

KJB- Isaiah 9:1, “afterward did more grievously afflict her.”

NIV- “In the future he will HONOR Galilee –the subject & truth is completely changed.

KJB- Proverbs 26:22, “The words of a talebearer are as wounds,

NIV- “the words of a gossip are like CHOSE MORSELS

Dear heart if you have the NIV so called bible, why don’t you just throw it in the trash where it belongs and get you a KJB, most of us can’t read Hebrew and Greek so the KJV is the bible that God has allowed us to have and read and study. This Word of God will still be standing when this old world is rocking and reeling and burning in flames.

Jesus said in Mark 13: 31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away

Why would Christian people support denominations, churches or pastors that would support such error? Paul was deeply concerned about false doctrine.

Paul says this in Acts 20: 29-30 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Jesus says in John 10: 35 The scripture cannot be broken." We’re talking about the Bible, the written word of God.

The Hebrews referred to them as "the writings", and that’s what the word scripture means. “Writings"

The scriptures also include the books of the NT. Paul said in 1st Cor.14: 37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord

Peter refers to Paul’s writings as "scriptures" in 2nd pet. 3: 15-16 15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

All scriptures are from God, so we can’t be selective in our consideration of the scripture.

We must not ignore or dismiss any part of the bible. Many Christians tend to ignore the OT either because to them it’s too difficult, or they believe it is not relevant to people’s lives today.

Some one might say; the bible was penned down by men and because of that they could be wrong.

It is true that men put the words of the Bible to paper. But these men were inspired. As Peter puts it, 2nd pet. 1:20-21 20 Knowing this first,* that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

God not only gave the world His Word, but He promised He would preserve it, and I’m sure that He is doing just that today as we speak.

Psalm 12: 6 -7 says: The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shall keep them, 0 LORD; Thou shalt PRESERVE THEM from this generation for ever. ‘

We have here inspiration and preservation: And not only His thoughts but also His words.

Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. The KJV is truly the Word of God:

Much of Bible prophecies were fulfilled just in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.

For example Isaiah wrote He would be born of a virgin, Micah tells us that His birth would be in Bethlehem.

Hosea prophesied that He would sojourn in Egypt.

Jeremiah prophesied that His birth would cause a massacre of children.

Isaiah foretold that He would live in Galilee

Zechariah foretold that He would enter Jerusalem on a donkey specifically the foal of a donkey.

David wrote that not a bone of His would be broken.

Some of the prophecies about Him were made over 2000 years before He was born.

It seems to me that the fulfilled prophecies concerning Jesus Christ are more than sufficient to give us a reason to trust God’s Word.

~Let me remind all of us that all these other so called versions of the bible are not of God, simple because Gods Words are changed or left completely out. Satan has not changed his tactics very much, if he can cast doubt on the Word of God as he did in the Garden of Eden when he was dealing with Eve that will be sufficient in many cases as he deals with individuals. ~

Satan has not changed his strategy.

Just sow doubts in people’s minds as to •

What God said and to sow doubt as to whether or not God will do what He said He would do.

He tries to make the counterfeit WORD as much alike without saying what God said.

The fall of man began with the beguilement of Satan there in the garden:

GEN. 3: 1 Now the serpent was more subtil [cunning ,crafty,] than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Satan did not attempt to ridicule or reject everything God said. His method was to arouse doubts as to all God said.

And Eve in the Garden of Eden fell for the devil’s subtlety, replying to him.

Vs. 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden but the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden. God hath said. Ye shall not eat of it (which God said and was true)

neither shall ye touch it (God did not say that, she added to what God had said and was not true) lest ye die. (God did not say that either)

He said, “Ye shall surely die.”

I once saw on a church sign, “give the devil an inch and he’ll soon be your ruler”

1st Tim. 4: 13 -- give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

We don’t rely on current theories in psychology, science, philosophy, or popular culture to arrive at spiritual truth, because none of these sources are inspired.

Listen dear heart, every saved person that has died and gone on to be with the Lord is there because they put their hope and trust in Him and His Word, there is not a single doubter of Gods Word in Heaven today.

And let me say that there is not a single unbeliever in hell today either, now they all believe, but it’s to late.

You may say now Brother Brown is trying to scare us, if I could scare you into believing the Bible I certainly would.

The way a person is saved is by hearing and trusting what He said and nothing else.

Rom. 5:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

We don’t understand it all but we believe all. There are some things in the Bible that we will not completely understand until we get there.

Duet. 29:29The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, --

Jesus said in John 5: 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life

Believe it.
