*******SERMON OUTLINE*******

There’s Power In Your Shout!!!

I. Introduction...

Turn with me to Mark 10:46

How many came to have church this morning?

How many brought your shout with you this

morning?

How many knows that you shouldn’t have

walked out your house this morning without

your shout?

God didn’t call you to sit on the back pew with

your mouth closed all morning?

He called you to the front line and He said

bring your shout with you!

And so long as your shouting His Word...

So long as your shouting God’s Word...

How many knows that it shall not return void.

Amen?

If He said it I believe it! Amen?

And He said if I say it I’ll recieve it!

Oh Praise the Lord!

How many came ready to recieve this morning?

How many came expecting something this

morning?

Well, I hope you came ready to shout to the

Lord!

Amen?

How many are looking for a mighty move of

God?

Well, I hope you brought your shout with you!

How many need a miracle this morning?

How many are in need of a blessing?

I hope your ready to shout it out this morning

Church!!!

How many are sick and afflicted this morning

and need a healing?

Get ready to shout!

How many have unsaved loved ones and want

them saved?

Get ready to shout!

Cause there’s power in your shout this

morning?

Pro 18:21 says...Death and life are in the

power of the tongue:

There is power in your shout this morning to

speak death and life into existence!

How much more so everything else in between?

James said blessings and curses flow from the

same mouth! Amen?

Well, who came seeking a blessing this

morning?

Your blessing is in your mouth!

If there’s a need in this house this morning all

you’ve got to do is shout it out to Jesus. Amen?

And it shall be done!

Let’s look at our scripture:

Mar 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

Mar 10:47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.

Mar 10:48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

Mar 10:49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

Mar 10:50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

Mar 10:51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

Mar 10:52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

In our text, we see that the shout of Blind

Bartemeus caused a powerful move of God.

Amen?

His shout caught the attention of Jesus,

and in the end caused a miraculous healing

that gave Bartemeus his sight.

There was power in Bartemeus’ shout!

And I am convinced today that we can have the

same power...

We can have the same kind of impact in our

shout as Bartemeus had back then.

Scripture says in verse 49 that his shout was so

powerful it brought God to a stand still!

An omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient God

who is ever moving came to a stand still that

day.

Because of the shout of a blind man,

There’s only three things in scripture that ever

brought Jesus to a stand still and one of them

was the shout of Bartimeus.

How many want to shout like Bartimeus this

morning?

II. The Shout of Faith...

Well, we need to be shouting in faith. Amen?

Verse 47 says he heard Jesus was coming and

started shouting?

He didn’t even wait for Jesus to get to him!

He didn’t wait for something to move him!

He expected his shout to move Jesus!

How many knows that Bartimeus was blind?

He couldn’t see Jesus coming!

He couldn’t see who was coming up the road!

All he knew was he heard it was Jesus!

He never saw Jesus perform any miracles!

But he had heard of the miracles Jesus had

performed!

He was walking by faith and not by sight!

And his faith came by hearing. Amen?

And as soon as he heard he started to shout.

How many knows we need that kind of shout

this morning?

That shout of faith!

That Shout that only comes from hearing the

Word of God!

The kind of shout that will make the Lord stand

still. Amen?

But instead we live in a sight and sound

generation!

It’s not enough today to hear the word!

It’s not enough to preach the word with power

and authority!

Christians these days have to read the book and

watch the movie before they start believing

what the word has already promised!

They want to try and prove what God can do

before they ask Him to do it.

We need to quit worrying about what God can

do and know that He will do whatever His word

promises!

And then we need to shout about it!

And we need to be like Bartemeus and begin to

shout for what He WILL do even before He

does it!

A little shout goes a long way!!!

We need to start shouting now and we don’t

need to quit shouting until we get what we

came for. Amen?

And then when we recieve God’s blessings we

need to shout some more!

We need to be persistent!

<<<<>>>>

Scripture says to ask and keep asking...

Seek and keep seeking...

Knock and keep knocking...

Persistence pays off!

III. The Persistent Shout...

Our text says Bartimeus shouted when He

heard Jesus coming!

And in vs. 48 they told him to shut up!

But what did Bartimeus do?

He kept right on shouting!

He didn’t care what the majority thought!

He didn’t care if they tried to shut him up!

He was on a mission to see Jesus and he

couldn’t see Jesus unless Jesus opened his

eyes.

He was prepared to shout til Jesus came.

Amen?

We need to be shouting til Jesus comes?

Too many of us lost our shout years ago!

We got tired of sreaming our lungs out for

Jesus!

We need to get our shout back!

Don’t worry about what brother so and so and

sister so and so say about your shout,

Cause they ain’t Jesus and their opinion don’t

count!

We ain’t shouting to make them stand still

We’re shouting to make Him stand still. Amen?

Don’t you ever let any body say you can’t dance

or shout in this church

Cause I got a copy of the by-laws right here that

says:

We believe in dancing and shouting as spiritual

triumph and an outward manifestation of the

Holy Ghost.

And I’m gonna tell you right now if we say we

believe that then we need to start putting it

back into practice.

If we say this is a Spirit filled Church we need

to start seeing some outward manifestations

of the Spirit!

We need to ignore the crowd!

Quit worrying about the haters and start

shouting to the savior. Amen?

You can’t let the devil steal your joy,

And you can’t let him stop your shout!

He don’t like to see God’s people getting blessed

And He don’t like us praising God for it!

But when were we suppose to start caring

about what he likes anyways?

You better give God the Glory and share your

story! Amen?

You’ve got to move beyond what people think

about you and bless God anyhow!

And when you bless God you can expect Him to

bless you back. Amen?

IV. The Expectant Shout...

There needs to be some expectancy in our

shout!

When we ask God for a blessing we should

expect a blessing!

When we shout to the Lord we should expect

Him to shout right back!

How many knows where God’s creative power

is?

It’s in His word.

He spoke the heavens and the earth and

everything in them into existence.

And when you shout blessings to Him I believe

he’ll speak blessing right back into your life.

Amen?

You can expect Him to bless you!

Our text said that Bartimeus shouted in faith

when He heard Jesus coming...

And he shouted persistently even when they

told him to shut up!

And Jesus honored his faith and persistence by

shouting back,

He commanded them to bring Bartimeus to

Him. Amen?

But I don’t want you to stop there.

Bartimeus had faith, and persitence in his

shout,

But if we look at vs. 50 we see that he had high

expectations in an almighty God.

vs. 50 says he Threw his cloak aside and went

to see Jesus!

This blind man threw his cloak aside knowing

that if he didn’t recieve his miracle he might

never find it again.

Now I don’t think he had any intention of

losing his garment,

But I believe he expected Jesus to heal him

And he knew that with his sight he could find

his way back to that cloak.

V. Conclusion...

Bartemeus took action!

He didn’t just sit back and wait for God to do

something,

he met him half way!!

He met the Lord halfway with a shout,

And Jesus shouted right back! Amen?

Will you meet Him halfway with a shout this

morning?
