PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Genesis 4:9-10
INTRO: Cain had. slain his brother in a fit of jealousy. God calls upon him to give an account of his brother. His denial of being his brother’s keeper did not release him of the responsibility.
I. CAIN HELD GUILTY BEFORE GOD.
A. His brother had fallen.
B. The voice of his blood was a witness against Cain.
C. We are responsible for our brother’s influence and spiritual
development.
D. Christians should not live to themselves, but be ready to bear
the burden of others (Gal. 6:1-2).
II. PAUL FELT RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHERS.
A. Indebted to all classes of people (Rom. 1:11).
B. He stood ready to help (Rom. 1:15).
C. Paul had great heaviness and sorrow because of the sinful
conditions of Israel (Rom. 9:2).
D. He could wish himself accursed from Christ for his brethren’s
sake (Rom. 9:3).
III. ESTHER’S EXTREME INTEREST IN HER PEOPLE — (Esther 4:4-17).
A. A written decree went forth that all Jews should be slain on a
set day (Esther 3:8-15).
B. Esther became interested in her people.
C. It was a death penalty for her to approach the King if he didn’t
hold out his scepter.
D. At the risk of her own life, she tries to save her people.
E. She depended much on Prayer and Fasting.
CONC: The watchmen of Israel were held responsible for the people (Ezek. 33:6-7).
