John 3:16

This verse is one we quote more than any other. We take for granted that everyone knows it, therefore, fail to get the great message contained in these words.
No document has ever involved so many people in so vital an issue as this — IT IS THE GREATEST SENTENCE EVER WRITTEN.
I. BECAUSE IT TELLS ABOUT GOD.
A. The whole world is interested in God — one way or another.
B. What we believe about God will determine our eternal destiny.
II. BECAUSE IT TELLS ABOUT GOD’S LOVE.
A. Love that saw mans need, before the foundation of the world.
B. Love that sent heaven’s richest gift to the earth.
C. Love that redeems lost sinners.
D. Love that strengthens and encourages.
III. BECAUSE IT TELLS US ABOUT OURSELVES.
A. Scientists have told us much about our bodies — the functions of
it’s members.
B. This verse tells us that we are the objects of Gods love.
1. God created the beasts and they have not violated God’s law.
2. Man, created to glorify God, violated his commandments.
C. It tells us that we do not have to perish.
IV. BECAUSE IT TELLS ABOUT SALVATION.
A. The supreme need of all men.
B. Salvation is God’s free gift to the world.
C. Salvation is for all who will accept it.
D. Salvation is eternal.
CONC: Salvation is of God through Jesus Christ. (John 3:16).
