Summary: There are Angels who are given charge over us. Andels are watching over me,Angels are watching over you. Psalm 91:11:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Angels Watching Over Me

Psalm 91:1-16

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

The previous Psalm introduced the wilderness and contrasted the misery and happiness of travelers in it who trust self or God.

This Psalm points to the one man who passed through it undefiled, unhurt, and trusting and loving God in perfection.

God is my refuge and my fortress; in Him will I trust.

As Christ enters the “secret place of the Most High,” the Holy Spirit assures Him that companionship with God will be a safe refuge from Satan’s power and all of the dangers of the way.

Even when we are in our desert, and we have to face the evil one, God will be with us and He will not let us down.

“The Lord is my refuge, and my fortress, my God in Him will I trust.”

Verse 3 says:

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

The snare of the fowler was the demon forces of darkness that opposed Christ, either through the religious leaders or in their own capacity.

They came in such quantity that they were called the “noisome pestilence”, which means a rushing calamity.

One that sweeps everything before it, Christ had the promise of the Holy Spirit that He would be delivered and He was.

Psalm 91:4

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

This passage has to do with the Holy of Holies.

It speaks of where God dwelt between the Cheribum and the mercy seat.

Verse 5 says:

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

The terror by night, speaks of the spiritual darkness of Satan.

The arrow that flies by day refers to the deliberate effort by Satan to destroy the soul.

The evil one devises a temptation, oppression, or a trap for the believer, and then shoots it like an arrow.

The only thing that can stop it is the shield of the buckler in verse four.

Christ who dwells with God in God’s throne is the only way that we can deal with these issues.

Psalm 91:6

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

The pestilence that walks in darkness pertains to every scourge of satanic darkness.

The destruction that waits at noonday is referring to Satan, great multitudes yet not touching the child of God who is dwelling in the “secret place of the Most High.”

Psalm 91:7

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Millions are being destroyed by the powers of darkness, but the believer who puts his trust in God, is promised that it will not come near you.

There really are results of living for God; if you don’t live for God then the consequences are obvious.

We, as Christians, are assured victory because we are following Jesus who has already defeated the enemy.

Verse 9 says:

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

Christ is our habitation!

Psalm 91:10-12

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

When we are dwelling in the secret place of the most High, it is impossible for evil to befall you.

Verses 11 and 12 were quoted by Satan, and in quoting them it showed his inteligence in reconizing that the Psalm applied to Jesus.

That’s in Mathew 4:6.

Psalm 91:11

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Yes, the Angels had charge over Jesus, but they also have charge over us.

Ge 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

The Angels ascended and they descended upon the ladder.

Angels can come and go as God pleases to send them.

2 Kings 6:13-17

13 And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.

14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

This morning there are Angels all around.

And these Angels are watching over us.

The reason why I preached this today:

Dream 9-20-08

I dreamed that I was on a stage in an outside surrounding. I knew there was danger. I saw surrounding us, a wall of Angels, and behind them another wall of Angels, and behind them another wall of Angels. And behind them I saw another wall of Heavenly beings. I knew that this went on forever. I told Susan what I saw.

Interpretation simple:

There are Angels who are given charge over us.

Andels are watching over me,Angels are watching over you.

Guardian Angels!

Psalm 91:14-16

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. {long...: Heb. length of days}

Do we know His Name?

Look at verse 15:

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

Mt 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Joh 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

as 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Ask in faith and believe, and if it is in God’s will, He will do it.

There are Angels all around this sanctuary right now, you might not see them but they are here.

Closing

Have you ever felt like there was Divine intervention in a time of danger that you have been in?

Angels all around that God has given charge over you!
