Summary: Let me say that the field is the world. The man is Christ Himself. The treasure is God’s chosen people, the nation of Israel.

MATT. 13:44 THE PARABLE OF THE HIDDEN TREASURE - ISRAEL

Today Lord willing, we’re going to talk for a little while about the “Hidden Treasure” that Jesus talks about here in Matt. 13: 44, so I want you to pay close attention.

First of all let me remind us that a parable is an earthly illustration to reveal a heavenly truth.

Listen as I read today’s text, only one verse. Matt. 13: 44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Let me say right off that the field is the world. The man is Christ Himself. The treasure is God’s chosen people, the nation of Israel.

Matthew 13: 38 The field is the world;

The Jews are scattered through out the world at this time, although there is a great number in the little country of Israel as we know it right now, but the vast majority are still out in other places of the world, with probably the greatest number of the Jews being in New York City.

And by the way, that little piece of land that is referred to as Israel at this time, is only a little part of what all the land of Israel will be when the Lord returns and gives the Jews all the land that is rightfully theirs.

Deuteronomy 11: 24 –28 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river,** the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.

25There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

26Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 27A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 28And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

Let me point out that this covenant was conditional, Israel had to obey God and the things He commanded them to do. But as history tells us they did not, therefore a curse was upon them.

But when the Lord Jesus Christ returns at the battle of Armageddon and defeats His and Israel’s enemies, He will then restore their blessing, as they will at that time know who He is.

Jeremiah 31:31 –34 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it—

-in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Exodus 19:5

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

That last phrase reminds us of the parable, for the treasure [Israel] was buried within the field, which is the world.

Everything that is belongs to God, the entire universe, but His special Treasure, was placed right here on earth.

God is certainly not through with the Jews.

Paul wrote: Rom. 11:1–2 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew .

Isaiah 27:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

This verse cannot be spiritualized, because the prophet Isaiah talks about Assyria, Egypt, Israel, and Jerusalem. These are literal places.

Israel is going to be literally restored in due time. This prophecy has never been fulfilled in the past. Its fulfillment is yet future. When God moves the Jews into the land, they will come, and they will worship Him.

When Jesus was on earth the Jews would not have Jesus to rule over them, Jesus did not leave the Jews, they refused Him, but of coarse God knew they would, and in this way He made away for us Gentiles to be grafted into the true Olive Tree, Israel.

John 19: 15-- Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

As Jesus looked down on Jerusalem He said;

Matthew 23: 37-39 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38Behold, your house** is left unto you desolate. 39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

I believe Gods promise is true where He said,

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. And

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:

I am of the opinion that the reason our nation has prospered so, is because of our stand with His people Israel, it is not because we’re such a great nation, are that we’re so intellechant, it’s because we have stood with Israel down through the years, but I am afraid that sooner are later we’re going to have leaders in powerful positions that will not stand with the Jews, and when that happens our country will go down like all other countries have that were not friends with Israel.

God said in

Psalm 9: 17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God—

If we forget Gods people Israel, our land will literally be turned into hell on earth.

Israel has always been and forever will be His chosen people. There may be those who don’t agree with that, but whether they agree with it are not don’t change the Bible fact. Psalm 135: 4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

And dear heart there’s no changing it, but those of us that love God, also love His people Israel, and would never want it to be changed.

It’s from the Jews that we got our blessed Bible.

Romans 9:1-5 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. 3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Psalm 147:19-20 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. 20He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

Jesus is from the tribe of Judah. Hebrews 7: 14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda;

Jesus was and is their true Messiah, He is their King.

Matthew 1:1-2 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? And in due time, He’ll come back to take His rightful position.

Israel is God’s covenant people.

Genesis 12:2-3 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

And all the families of the earth are blessed, because Jesus is of Abraham’s seed.

It’s Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Judah, that’s His lineage.

Have you ever wondered why Israel has had so many hard and difficult times?

It’s because of all the light that Israel had to do with the things of God.

Amos 3:2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

I used to wonder why that it seems the Jews are hated and attack from all over the world, but now we understand, it’s because of all the contacts that God had with Israel, and yet they rejected Him.

Her punishment was severe, but God did not destroy Israel as He did some other nations.

Psalm 118:18 The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death. God will not allow Israel to be destroyed. Every nation that has raised and arm against Gods chosen people has went down in defeat, and that will be the case with Amanidenajed of Iran, if he should be so foolish.

I was watching a news clip awhile back and the reporter was interviewing an Israeli military officer, and the reporter ask him what Israel would do if Iran should attack Israel, and his reply was, “if Iran sends just one missile toward Israel that Iran would be annihilated.” Israel has now nuclear weapons, and they have no chose other that to defend themselves, and they have every right to do so.

Any enemy that has every come against Israel has been defeated, and it will remain that way. I’d rather have Israel on my side than all the armies of the world combined, simply because God will always be with His people.

Right now as we speak, the world is becoming more dangerous and wicked with each passing hour, and it’s suppose to be this way, it’ll be worse tomorrow than it is today.

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived—

Jesus said in Luke 17: 26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. There was wickedness on every hand.

Also today we have the Sodomites on every hand, flouting their homosexual sins and daring any one to say any thing about it. We now have a soon to be President that thinks it’s alright for men to marry men and women to marry women, a toothless man by the name of, “Barney Franks” has a powerful seat in our government, he is a self proclaimed homosexual.

Jesus said that this is the way that it would be when He returns.

Luke 17: 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; --

Gen. 19: tells of God destroying Sodom and Gomorrah because of such as this. God has a day in His mind that all such as this will be done away with, they may laugh and mock now but He will have the last laugh.

This soon to be President has put his o k on the slaughter of unborn babies, under the guise of pro chose.

I ask you dear heart, do you think that God is going to bless such an abomination as this? No He will not.

We have heard it said many times before, to keep your eyes on Israel, Israel is Gods timepiece.
