Try to imagine these situations.
a. Someone told you that what you believe is not true. They told that it’s your imagination that works and it is just a blind faith. They told you are old fashioned and irrelevant to our present world. How will you respond on the attack of your faith ?
b.Your children are learning in school that we came from mammals,and we are no different from animals.They had been taught that we are just like animals and there is no flood and there is no God. How will you respond on the attack of your family?
c. Your friend had change, hes now doing bizarre things like meditation or meeting with people at midnight to attend an unusual gathering. It was for fun and adventure he said. You began observed his foul language, the piercing in many parts of his body .How will you respond on the attack of your friends?
Lets learn the three truth Paul said in 1 Cor 15:58 about standing firm.
1. We can stand firm .My dear friends, stand firm and dont be shaken.E
Our faith ,family and friends are being attacked and bombarded day by day by ungodly ideas and satanic influence. We cannot relax and rest if we see our faith family and friends being led away far from the truth. The only way to resist this attack is by standing firm.
Standing firm is not just standing but standing without being shaken or being move. The Roman soldier will guard his position and will not leave the place of combat with the enemy. He was trained to stand his ground from assault in the front or back. And after standing firm ,he has destroyed his enemy. We are called to do the same.
In order to be a soldier of Christ we must have the full armor of God. Eph 6:11-18. No child can hold these weapons so you need to mature to be able to use them. If you are new in Christ, have someone to depend on (like your pastor), and learn to use this weapon .
2. We can also abound in work.Always keep busy working for the Lord. E
The bible does not called us to stand firm only but also be abundant in the work of the Lord.We must not stop doing the Lords work just because we are attack. Nehemiah has done the standing and working simultaneously Neh4:17-18. Dont let the attack stop you from doing Gods work. You need to continue doing Gods work even in the midst of a fight for your faith .
3. We can be assured of victory in the end.Knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. E
We can be both faithful and fruitful in times of test. It is because of our assured victory. Paul said that our labor is not in vain. He is saying that there will be depending and attacking but our victory in the end is sure. So stand firm because you are victorious.
