By William Akehurst, HSWC

Build up your faith. Arise and Walk.

ARISE FROM THE PIT AND WALK IN THE LIGHT

A spiritual revival that comes to the heart and stems to the feet of life.

Psalm 25

At the phone center, People are calling out to

Receive Christ, for Assurance, to rededicate to Christ, or for other needs such as prayer for healing, or financial needs, or problems.

People NEED this.

People NEED the LORD.

Why are we staying quiet?

Why are you so quiet?

When we take the call, we help them and point them in the way, that they might…

ARISE and WALK

Jesus said it to the man with palsy...HE COMMANDED HIM TO...ARISE AND WALK

Luke 5:23-25 (King James Version)

23Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

24But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

25And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

ARISE AND WALK? BUT HOW?

TO ARISE IS TO GET UP AND OUT OF SOMETHING.

MANY ARE IN NEED OF GETTING OUT OF THEIR BONDAGE TO SIN.

WALK IS TO WALK BY THE SPIRIT. ARISE FROM THE BONDAGE AND WALK IN THE LIGHT. A SPIRITUAL WALK. WALKING IN THE LORD.

Psalm 25 A GREAT AND WONDERFUL PSALM

UP LIFTING – ARISE UP

1Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

LET ME NOT BE ASHAMED

2O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

3Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

LET THEM BE ASHAMED…

SHOW ME, TEACH ME, LEAD ME, I WANT YOU

4Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

5Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

6Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

7Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.

DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO, WHERE TO GO, HOW TO LIVE?

8Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

9The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

10All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

HE FORGIVES THAT WE MAY GET OUT FROM UNDER THE LOAD

11For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

THE LORD GUIDES THOSE WHO FEAR AND REVERENCE HIM

12What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

REST FOR THE WEARY AND HEAVY LADEN

13His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

A SECRET PLACE?

14The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

MY RESCUE. KEEP LOOKING UP

15Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

HELP FOR THE DEEPEST TROUBLES

16Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

17The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

18Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

KEEP AND DELIVER ME. I PUT MY TRUST IN YOU

20O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

21Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

22Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

Psalm 31

1In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

2Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

3For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

Psalm 34

1I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

Do not be false, to hide, as a Christian.

There will be times we suffer persecution.

Do not be ashamed. Glorify God.

Examine yourself. Do you hide?

Examine yourself. Judgement must begin at the house of God

1 Peter 4

16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

17For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Do you call yourself a Christian?

Then start with yourself.

1 Chronicles 7:14

‘If my people who are called by my name, would humble themselves, turn from their wickedness and pray, I would hear from heaven and heal their land’ ~ GOD

CONTEND FOR THE FAITH

JUDE

3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

5I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

BUILD UP. GET THE WORD OUT.

KEEP IN GOD’S LOVE

20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

BENEDICTION

24Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
