Summary: Our hope is in Jesus.

I.Hope for freedom from sin.

A. Salvation. Sins of the past.

B. Sanctification. Freedom from sin nature. 1Jo 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

II.Hope for freedom from sorrow.

A. Gods people are a happy people. Pr 10:28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

B. We are to rest in peace. Ro 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

III. Hope for our needs. Lam 3:21 ¶ This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

IV.Hope of the ministry. 1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

A. We have a hope of success because of who called us. Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

B. We have no need to be intimidated or ashamed of what we believe. Ro 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

C. We should proclaim the truth, in love. 2Co 3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

V.Hope in tribulation. Ro 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

VI. Hope for the future.

A. We are not worried by things that surround us. Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

B. We are not worried by things to come. Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

The back of the book says we win.
