A Fox In Our Hood
Ezekiel 13:1-6
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.
5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.
6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
I have entitled this today: “A Fox In Our Hood”
Mt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
We live in a day of the Prophetic. I believe in God given dreams and God given Visions, and I believe in God given Prophesy.
For the real there is also the false. The Bible tells me that there will be false Prophets that will arise.
The Word of God tells me to beware of the false.
Satan, who has always tried to be like the most High God, has always wanted to be like Him.
Satan will come as an Angel of light and he will decieve anyone that he can.
If it be possible, he will decieve you.
A False Prohet is someone that might look like you or me, they come in the name of the flock, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mt 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Can a false Prophet do signs and wonders?
Mt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Mr 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Satan is a master deciever, he counterfeits what God does, but the end result will be death.
Ec 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
The Word of the Lord came to Ezekiel in our opening text and said, Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;
As there were False Prophets and False Prophetesses in Jerusalem, there were such among the exiles as well.
Look at Ezekiel 13:3
3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
The Phrase, “who followed their own spirit,” means they did not follow the Holy Spirit, they preached what people wanted to hear, in this case a speedy restoration to the land of Judah.
Ezekiel 13:4
4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts.
Foxes made their homes in the desert among ruins, the false prophets likewise made their financial profit out of the ruin of Israel, and actually made the ruin worse.
They had not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.
These foolish false prophets made merchandise of time by telling the people a lie instead of the truth.
They made them feel comfortable in their sins, and told them that peace and prosperity was right around the corner.
This slandered the Prohecies of Jeremiah and Ezekiel, and in effect slandered God.
Ezekiel 13:6
6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.
The phrase, “they have seen vanity and lying divination” means that they have believed their own lies and have had tried to confirm their own predictions.
They did so by claiming that the Lord saith, when in fact the Lord did not send them, and never said anything to them.
Ezekiel 13:7
7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?
The Lord called utterances of these false prohets “a vain vision” and lying divinations.
The sad thing is that we still have these lying spirits trying to deceive us today.
Jesus told the Disciples that in the last days false prophets would arise and they would try to deceive anyone they could.
It is important for us to know those who labor among us.
1 Corinthians 11:13-15
2Co 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
You will know them by their fruit!
Ec 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
In the church world, we have people who say God hath said when God has not spoken anything at all.
We have people who speak of their own agendas saying thus saith the Lord, when it ought to be because I want or don’t want that.
God is not happy when we apply His name and He didn’t say it.
I have heard many people at churches proclaim “Thus saith the Lord” and it never happened, warning sign.
And then they do it again and again, it’s a scary place to be.
I have entitld this today: “A Fox In Our Hood”
Dream 7-2-09
I dreamed that I had a fox on the inside of the hood my vehicle. I had a system to tell me what was there.
Interpretation
Fox can mean subtility, deception, also a con man or a false Prophet.
Foxes will try to slip in our midst.
When a fox slips in, I have a system to let me know that there is danger.
The Bible tells me what to watch for; the Bible tells me to try the Spirits to see if they are of God.
The Lord has warned me to keep my guard up; deception will try to creep in.
Deception will try to creep in this church if we are not on guard.
If it does not line up with the Word of God, it is a false Word and I will not accept it.
A few years back, Susan and I went to New York to hear a preacher preach. I thought he had a Prophetic Gift, so it got my attention.
This man was about the best preacher I had ever heard.
At the end of the service, he called on people to put $50 in an envelope, and write their name on the envelope.
I noticed that this man was calling out names of people and giving words over people who gave an envelope.
I knew there was a problem.
This man asked for people to give $100 and again he would start calling out names of the people on the envelopes.
Discernment! I knew something was wrong.
This man then went up to $500 and $1000, and was calling out names of people and speaking words over them.
This man was then walking down the isle and he knew that my wife and I had a problem with what he was doing.
He threatened to rebuke the hindering spirits that was there, I knew he was talking about us.
I thought, “go ahead and I will rebuke you right back”.
He then called out another person, but that person had already left. Don’t you think God knows whether the person is still there or not?
We went home and I asked God to show me if that man was legitimate or not. The Lord showed me in a dream that he saw the names he was calling.
He was a false prophet taking advantage of the sheep; the problem was people did not notice, they wanted a Word so bad from God that it did not matter.

Dream 4-15-09
I dreamed that I was observing a woman. The woman was going through a tough time. I noticed a life size Bible that was in front of her. The Spirit of God opened the life size Bible. I knew that the Lord was about ready to give her a Word. The woman walked over to the life size Bible and started to read the Word that God was giving to her. As she read the Word she was standing on the Bible, she, you could say, was standing on the Word. I then noticed that she literally sunk into the Word. I walked over and I looked inside the life size Bible and I knew that this lady was going to be alright because she was in the Word.
Interpretation
An observing dream, a message dream
This woman was going through a tough time and I notice a life size Bible.
The Spirit of God opened the life sized Bible. I knew that the Lord was about ready to give her a Word.
The Lord was giving her a sure Word of Prophecy.
2Pe 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
The woman walked over to the life size Bible and started to read the Word that God was giving to her.
As she read the Word, she was standing on the Bible, she, you could say was standing on the Word.
God wants to give us a Word this morning: Read the Word and stand upon the Word of God.
2Co 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
God has a sure Word of Prophecy for us. In order to receive it, we have to be willing to dig into the Word of God.
If God has made a promise to us, we need to stand upon the Word of God and not be moved by obstacles that are placed before us.
We are given exceedingly great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Lust for this world will tear us away from where God is trying to take us to.
In the dream, I noticed that she literally sunk into the Word.
Maybe what we need to do is sink into the Word of God.
Maybe we need to sink into the Bible!
I walked over and I looked inside the life size Bible and I knew that this lady was going to be alright because she was in the Word.
Church, if we stay inside the Word we will be all right.
