IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT
A STUDY OVER THE BOOK OF REVELATION & THE END TIMES: PART VI
INTRO: This upcoming study on Revelation, is obviously a lot of guesswork. Although is information is entirely Biblical and comes from theologian type sources, it still cannot be correct 100%. But the following is only the best try considering all the details and facts as we know it in this year at such a time as this.
FINALLY: WE HAVE REACHED THE 7 BOWL JUDGMENTS:
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 16:1-2 (1st Bowl): Painful Sores
Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go, pour out the seven bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.” The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshipped his image.
Painful Sores: The first plague is poured upon the earth and a foul and painful seeping sore appears on those who accept the mark or do homage to the image of the first Beast from the Sea. This ulcer is described in the King James as being ’noisome’. This term in the Greek means among other things, troublesome, injurious, pernicious, destructive or baneful. These sores do not come and go quickly. The timeframe for the pouring out of the seven plagues could be as long as three and a half years (but also could be much shorter). This plague falls on the entire population of the earth.
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 16:3 (2nd Bowl): Seas Smitten
The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead man, and every living thing in the sea died.
Seas to Blood: The second plague is poured upon the sea. The sea in turn changes its chemical composition and all that lives within the sea die. The sea is described as becoming as the blood of a dead man. When a man dies his blood congeals and becomes thick reddish black and viscous. The sea will become just so as well. Many who live next to the sea and live off of what the sea produces will die as well (this plague roughly parallels the second trumpet warning. The main difference is that this plague affects every ocean in the world and every living thing in the ocean).
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 16:4-7 (3rd Bowl): Rivers Smitten
The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: “You are just in these judgments, you who are and who were, the Holy One, because you have so judged; for they shed the blood of your saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.” And I heard the altar respond: “Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments.”
Differences of The Sea Water & The River Water: The third plague is poured upon the rivers and fountains of fresh water and they become blood as well. This blood though is not described like the second plague as being as the blood of a dead man. This blood water is also NOT DESCRIBED AS BEING DEADLY WHEN CONSUMED. It is just very, very nasty. And the people will drink it. In fact it says here that men will have to drink this blood water because this plague will affect all of the fresh water of the world.
*This plague is also the only plague that gives a specific reason for its execution. This plague is in response to the blood of all the martyrs that had been spilled to that day. This includes the tribulation saints who were killed for not receiving the mark of the beast or worshipping its image. “For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy” “They are worthy” is also rendered in some translations as “such is their due.”
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 16:8-9 (4th Bowl): Scorching
The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.
Example: Sunburn
Ever get a sunburn? Ever get an unbearable sunburn? Ever get a sunburn so bad that your skin blisters up and the very thought of going outside becomes unbearable? Well, that is going to happen.
The fourth plague angel pours out his plague upon the sun. The angel is given the power to scorch men with fire. The term scorch also means to torture with heat. Up to this point those who have the mark of the beast are afflicted with oozing sores, the oceans have been changed killing all life therein, and the drinking water of the entire earth has become blood-like and does not quench one’s thirst.
Now to increase the thirst of the people and the need for water the fourth plague angel causes the sun to become unbearably hot. The people not only have oozing sores, but they have sunburn as well covering the exposed areas of the body. The people of the earth cannot even ease the heat by going to the beach, which by this time has been turned red and has a horrible stench of death covers the area. The fresh clean water that normally would quench their thirst has been changed to a horrible blood red color. People are forced to drink it because they have no alternative.
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 16:10-11 (5th Bowl): Darkness
The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. Men gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven, because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.
Example: Spelunking Adventure
I went with my family on a camping adventure to a cave. When we got into the deep inner core, the tour guide asked for everyone to turn off all the lanterns and flashlights. The results were frightening! Seriously, the total darkness was so deep that it could actually be felt. One of my children actually burst into tears it was so frightening. This will be the shape of the whole world (what are the odds that electricity is actually going to work well with all the other disasters going on?).
STEPS TO THE ANTICHRIST’S RISE TO POWER & EVENTUALLY TO THE END:
1. The White Horse Rider Conquers by Peace Tactics, Power Politics, Persuasive Language, & Charismatic Personality (Rev 6:1-2, Dan 8:23-25, 1 Thes 5:11).
2. This Brings About a 10 Nation Confederacy of Europe, a Handful of Nations That Were Once a Part of the Old Roman Empire (Dan 2:42-44, 7:7-8, 20-24). This could be NATO, UN, etc.
3. This Leader of this Confederation will make a 7 year Covenant with Israel designed to give Israel protection in the land and solve the very volatile Israel-Arab dispute of the coveted land of Palestine (Daniel 9:27). This treaty begins “Daniel’s 7th Week,” or the Tribulation.
4. Three kings of the Confederacy rebel, but the rising dictator defeats them and emerges as an undeniable leader (Daniel 7:8, 20-25).
5. The King of the North will at this point in the middle of the Tribulation attack Israel who will then be dwelling in the land in comparative peace and safety because of the covenant of the peace treaty. This king of the North comes with his Arab allies, Pan-Arabic block, and her allies (Ezekiel 38:1-9).
6. These armies are destroyed on the mountains of Israel by the direct intervention of God (Ezekiel 38:21-23).
BIBLE VERSE: Ezekiel 38:19-23
In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against be against his brother. I will execute judgment upon him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
7. There is a tremendous political vacuum in the world after the destruction of the King of the North. Until now the head of the ten nation confederation has been a leader of the European Confederation ONLY, but now with the dragon surveying the sea of nations, he sees the way open for world domination through this European dictator whom he has undoubtedly helped to bring to power. So now the beast enters. The white horse rider who won his territory by peace tactics, now becomes the beast under the possession of Satan himself (Revelation 13:2):
8. From this context, the dragon looks out over the sea of nations and then implements a system of the beast to carry out his desired goals—the persecution of Israel and his own worship (Rev 13:4-6).
9. He will break the covenant with Israel and magnifies himself as god (Rev 12:13, 2 Thes 2:3, Dan 8:24, 9:21).
10. There will come a challenge of his authority from the East at the end of the Tribulation (Rev 16:12-16). This is the final phase of Armegeddon.
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 16:12-16 (6th Bowl):
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its waters was dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the East. Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs, they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed. Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.
This is a map of the mountain range called Har Megiddo, the city of the same name is located in Israel. This is the location where the battle will take place between the Beast of the Sea and his armies and Jesus.
*By the way, it would take a dried out river bank to make it even possible for 200 Million soldiers to come from the East in order to get to Armageddon in the first place. On a different note, this drying up of the river could be seen as a slap towards the Devil, much in the same way one knight in the middle ages would slap another with a glove across the face as a form of a public challenge.
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 16:17-21 (Widespread Destruction):
The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the throne saying, “It is done!” Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. The great city split into three parts, and the cities split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. From the sky huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.
At this point in time, all warnings are gone. All timelines are over, the end has come. The only thing left is the final return of Christ in all His glory, the judgments of those still alive, and the punishment for Satan. On top of that, check out the entrance Christ is going to make when he returns to this final fight.
11. The return of Christ to Earth.
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 19:11-16 (The Arrival of Christ):
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The ARMIES OF HEAVEN WERE FOLLOWING HIM, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has the name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
12. The unification of the armies on the Earth. Evidently, these enemy forces will see God and those heavenly forces coming down from heaven and will wage war against them. It is hard to tell when this happen exactly, and the roots of this will probably occur before Christ comes, but since it is listed after Christ’s return, I will place it here in this End Times Timeline.
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 19:19
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.
The above image is the Jezreel valley just outside of Megiddo in Israel and is the likely location for the battle of Armageddon. The word Armageddon is a corruption of the Hebrew words Har which means mount and Megiddo which is otherwise known as the valley of Jezreel. One can see why Napoleon during his conquerings saw it and said that it is the “most natural battle field” in all of the world.
13. The final battle.
BIBLE VERSE: Revelation 19:20-21-Revelation 20:1
But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshipped his image. The two of them thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
Did you get that? After all is said and done and the battle of the ages is about to hit: the war is as simple as simply having an angel pick up Satan, tie him with a chain, and throw him in the pit. Yup, the Devil really is that weak is comparison to the heavenly hosts.
