Summary: Jesus is watching over me, and the circle will not be broken. It is time to give our lives all the way over to the things of God and know that there is nothing that the enemy can do to us because we are covered by the Blood of Jesus.

The Circle Will Not Be Broken

Psalm 57:1-11

1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

I have entitled this today: “The Circle Will Not Be Broken”

This Psalm was probably written by David when he was being chased by Saul, and was probably in the cave of Engedi.

This was one of the most critical times in David’s life.

The sweet singer of Israel could not trust in any man to save him.

If he was to be saved, then the Lord alone would have to do it.

David’s trust in the Lord is overwhelmingly here and it must be a lesson to us.

Psalm 57:2

2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

The words “all things” are not in the original Hebrew Text; therefore this verse is a blank check.

Whatever is needed, God will do, but we need to keep our petitions in the scope of His will.

Even though this is a Psalm of David, even more so it is a Psalm of the greater Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Verse three proclaims Christ’s descent into the real of the dead; it also proclaims His Glorious Ressurection from the grave.

Psalm 57:4

4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

In His earthly ministry, our Lord was constantly beset by the opposition of demonic spirits.

The latter part of this verse speaks of the hatred of man directed at the Messiah.

Psalm 57:5

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

In this verse, the Holy Spirit addresses the Lord Jesus Christ and does so as God.

Jesus needs to be exalted; He needs to be lifted up within our lives and our walks.

Joh 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

There are times, as believers that we will go through the fire but when we do, we need to remember who we belong to and what God’s Word says.

We are the Property of Jesus Christ; we were purchased by His Blood.

Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Jesus in the Sun

I dreamed that we were at Minnie’s and I knew that there was a storm coming. I knew that it was going to be a bad one. I knew that we had to find a place to hide. I knew that we could not hide in the house because it might fall on us. I decided that the best place was an open field by Mary and Terry’s. I looked up at the sun and I saw Jesus’ face. I shook my head in amazement and looked again and He was gone. I knew that He was looking after us. We got in a circle and we started to pray.

Interpretation

At Minnie’s- represents the foundation of my life

I knew that there was a storm coming. I knew that it was going to be a bad one.

Christians will face storms in their lives, and at times they will be bad ones.

David, while he was on the run from Saul, knew whom he believed in.

The enemy, at times will chase us; at least it seems like it.

We do not have to run, its time to stand your ground and not be moved.

David was running from Saul, to him that was a storm.

In the dream I knew that we had to find a place to hide. I knew that we could not hide in the house because it might fall on us.

Sometimes our house might fall on us because we are not grounded on a solid foundation in God.

When storms hit, our walls might get weak and give in.

I decided that the best place was an open field by Mary and Terry’s.

An open field where there are no distraction, where we can focus on what we are going through.

I looked up at the sun and I saw Jesus’ face. I shook my head in amazement and looked again and He was gone. I knew that He was looking after us. We got in a circle and we started to pray.

Sun represents Son Light! The light that comes from Christ!

Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Mt 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

If we are followers of Jesus then we are a light unto this world and our light cannot be hidden!

We have all heard the song “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”. I believe this… my whole family will be saved!

Psalm 57:6

6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

As Saul and his henchmen hated David, likewise the Scribes and Pharisees hated Christ.

Every Christian should allow this Psalm to be a warning that if he moves his tongue against that which God has truly annointed, or lifts his hands against the same, it will ultimately destroy him.

David’s heart was fixed upon God, he was going to sing and give praise no matter what happened in his life.

According to verse eight, David was going to arise early in order to have time with the Lord.

Psalm 57:9

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

In the cave of Engedi, little did he realize how prophetic this statement was.

These Psalms have been sung by untold millions.

David was going to sing of God’s mercy and His truth.

Psalm 57:2

2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

The words “all things” are not in the original Hebrew Text; therefore this verse is a blank check.

Whatever is needed, God will do, but we need to keep our petitions in the scope of His will.

God has given us a blank check. What are we doing with it?

This house has survived many storms and the reason is because of whom I believe in.

Jesus is watching all that we are going through and if we follow after Him we will come out of the valleys that we are in.

Our steps are established by the Lord. Do we believe this?

Job 14:16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?

Job 31:4 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

Ps 18:36 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

Ps 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

God will not let us go through anything that we cannot handle.

A storm is coming, and it looks like it really will be a bad one but when it comes I will go to the Rock of my Salvation.

Ps 144:2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

Ps 31:3 For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

Jesus is watching over me, and the circle will not be broken.

It is time to give our lives all the way over to the things of God and know that there is nothing that the enemy can do to us because we are covered by the Blood of Jesus.

Storms will come and go but Jesus is still watching over me!

Closing

Do you feel like you are on the run for your faith?

At times, people in the Word probably felt this way, but they never backed down.

Keep on believing and keep on battling because, just like David, the battle is not ours but it is His because we are in His Pavillion!

It is time to put a halt to Satan’s scemes, and start believing God is going to bring me out and He is going to bring out my family also!

Jesus is above my circle watching over us. Do we believe this?

He will make a way where there is no way!
