THE ROAD OF LIFE At first I saw God as my observer, my judge, keeping track of the things I did wrong, so as to know whether I merited heaven or hell when I die; He was out there sort of like a president. I recognized His picture but I didn’t really know Him. But later on when I met Christ, it seemed as though life were rather like a bike ride. but it was a tandem bike, and I noticed that Christ was in the back helping me pedal. I don’t know just when it was that He suggested we change places, but life has not been the same since. When I had control, I knew the way. It was rather boring and predictable...It was the shortest distance between two points. But when He took the lead, He knew delightful long cuts up mountains and through rocky places at break-neck speeds; it was all I could do to hang on!

Even though it looked like madness, He said, "Pedal!" I worried and was anxious and asked, "Where are you taking me?" He laughed and didn’t answer, and I started to learn to trust. I forgot my boring life and entered into the adventure. And when I’d say, "I’m scared!" He’d lean back and touch my hand. He took me to people with gifts that I needed; gifts of healing, acceptance and joy. They gave me gifts to take on my journey, my Lord’s and mine. And we were off again. He said, "Give the gifts away; they’re extra baggage, too much weight." So I did, to the people we met, and I found that in giving, I received, and still our burden was light. I did not trust Him at first, to be in control of my life, I thought He’d wreck it; but Jesus knows bike secrets, knows how to make it bend to make sharp corners, knows how to jump to clear high rocks, knows how to fly to shorten scary passages.

And I am learning to shut up and pedal in the strangest places, and beginning to enjoy the view, and the cool breeze on my face, with my delightful constant companion, Jesus Christ.

And when I’m sure I just can’t do anymore, He just smiles and says..."Pedal". Author Unknown

I am sure that Jesus Christ guides me. Why? Because I trust in Him because He loves me and helps me, and directs me, and hugs me when I need it.

He provides for you even when you forget to ask. Even when you forget to thank Him. When you think that you are doing the right thing and it does not turn out, you learn to trust to trust Him more because you learn that you cannot do it on your own.

You learn that through Him you can grow and become stronger. AMEN!

times we find it hard to let go of trying to control everything and letting God lead the way. We to remember that God’s ways are better, wiser and can take us to heights that we never imagined if only we let God lead the way.

Jesus says in John 6:37 “…Whosoever comes to me I will in no way cast out.” If you’re finding it hard to trust the Lord and let Him have control of your life, I encourage you to seek Him in prayer and try the Lord to see if God will not do what He said He would do. (Isaiah 55:8-9

Psalm 118:8-10 “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. All nations surrounded me, But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.”

Take a moment right now and close your eyes and think for about where you would be without the Lord in your Life. With our Lord God our faith can grow and grow and grow as we trust in Him more and more.

Psalm 27:1-4 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war should rise against me, In this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.” We must make up our minds and understand that God needs to be in the center of our lives giving preference to Him above anything else that comes before us. When we seek God first and ask for His will to be done in our lives, the Bible says everything else will be added unto us. Keeping God first not only is pleasing to the Lord, but promises to bring the Joys of life without us having to search for it. (Matthew 6:33-34)

Ps 121:8 The LORD shall preserve thy going and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore You can do it on your own the hard way or ask Him to help you through your life and make things easier. You must just offer yourself to Him.

THE OFFERING Here is a true story about a nine year old boy who lived in a rural town in Tennessee. His house was in a poor area of the community. A church had a bus ministry that came knocking on his door one Saturday afternoon. The kid came to answer the door and greeted the bus pastor. The bus pastor asked if his parents were home and the small boy told him that his parents take off every weekend and leave him at home to take care of his little brother. The bus pastor couldn’t believe what the kid said and asked him to repeat it. The youngster gave the same answer and the bus pastor asked to come in and talk with him. They went into the living room and sat down on an old couch with the foam and springs exposed.

The bus pastor asked the kid, "Where do you go to church?" The young boy surprised the visitor by replying, "I’ve never been to church in my whole life." The bus pastor thought to himself about the fact that his church was less than three miles from the child’s house. "Are you sure you have never been to church?" he asked again. "I sure haven’t", came his answer. Then the bus pastor said, "Well, son, more important than going to church, have you ever heard the greatest love story ever told?" and then he proceeded to share the Gospel with this little nine year old boy. The young lad’s heart began to be tenderized and at the end of the bus pastor’s story the bus pastor asked if the boy wanted to receive this free gift from God. The youngster exclaimed, "You Bet"! The kid and the bus pastor got on their knees and the lad invited Jesus into his little heart and received the free gift of salvation. They both stood up and the bus pastor asked if he could pick the kid up for church the next morning. "Sure", the nine-year-old replied. The bus pastor got to the house early the next morning and found the lights off. He let himself in and snaked his way through the house and found the little boy asleep in his bed. He woke up the little boy and his brother and helped get them dressed. They got on the bus and ate a donut for breakfast on their way to church. Keep in mind that this boy had never been to church before.

The church was a real big one. The little kid just sat there, clueless of what was going on. A few minutes into the service these tall unhappy guys walked down to the front and picked up some wooden plates. One of the men prayed and the kid with utter fascination watched them walk up and down the aisles. He still didn’t know what was going on. All of a sudden, it was like a bolt of lightning hit the kid to what was taking place. “These people must be giving money to Jesus.” He then reflected on the free gift of life he had received just twenty-four hours earlier. He immediately searched his pockets, front and back, and couldn’t find a thing to give Jesus.

By this time the offering plate was being passed down his aisle and with a broken heart he just grabbed the plate and held on to it. He finally let go and watched it pass on down the aisle. He turned around to see it passed down the aisle behind him. And then his eyes remained glued on the plate as it was passed back and forth, back and forth all the way to the rear of the sanctuary. Then he had an idea. This little nine year old boy, in front of God and everybody, got up out of his seat. He walked about eight rows back, grabbed the usher by the coat and asked to hold the plate one more time. Then he did the most astounding thing I have ever heard of. He took the plate, sat it on the carpeted church floor and stepped into the center of it.

As he stood there, he lifted his little head up and said, "Jesus, I don’t have anything to give you today, but just me. I Give You Me!" Author Unknown Let us all have this child like faith and give God what we do have. Only by surrendering to Him can we see God take what seems to be ordinary and do extraordinary things through.

I have made the commitment and said, "Here am I God, send me." I encourage you to make the same decision and see the amazing things God will do through your life. (Isaiah 6:8) If you need prayer to help you faith andincrease your have it grow in you, come forward right now and let the Lord touch you.

As folks come forward for prayer, If you choose not to come forward, spend some time now in prayer for everything in your life that means something to you.
