A story is told of a tax assessor who came one day to a poor Christian to determine the amount of taxes he would have to pay. The following conversation took place: "What property do you possess?" asked the assessor. "I am a very wealthy man," replied the Christian. "List your possessions, please," the assessor instructed. This is what the Christian said:

"First, I have everlasting life, John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Second, I have a mansion in heaven, John 14:2 (KJV) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Third, I have a peace that passes all understanding, Philippians 4:7 (KJV) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Fourth, I have joy unspeakable, 1 Peter 1:8 (KJV) Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Fifth, I have divine love which never fails, 1 Corinthians 13:8 (KJV) Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Sixth, I have a faithful wife, Proverbs 31:10-12 (KJV) 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Seventh, I have healthy, happy obedient children, Exodus 20:12 (KJV) Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. (Eph 6:3 KJV) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Eighth, I have true, loyal friends, Proverbs 18:24 (KJV) A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Ninth, I have songs in the night, Psalms 42:8 (KJV) Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

Tenth, I have a crown of life, James 1:12 (KJV) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Eleventh. I have a doctor that is on call at all times and he makes house calls. Psalms 30:13 Psalms 30:2 (KJV) O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. Exodus 15:26 (KJV) .... for I am the LORD that healeth thee. Matthew 8:6-7 (KJV) 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

Finally, I shall never suffer want as my every need is provided. Philippians 4:19 (KJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

The tax assessor closed his book, and said, "Truly you are a very rich man, but your property is not subject to taxation."
