Summary: No matter what mountain you face in this life, they can be moved

Mark 11:22-26

Topic: Your mountains can be moved

Subtopic: God is bigger than your mountains

All of us has had one time or another to face or deal with some mountains in our lives. It does not matter if you are young or old, all of us has had to face or deal with some mountains in our lives.

It does not matter if you are rich or poor, educated or not, all of us had had to face or deal with some mountains in our lives.

It does not matter if you live in the Westside, Downtown Las Vegas, Summerlin, Green Valley, Seven Hills, Silverado Community, Aliante, Sunrise Mountain, or Spring Valley, all of us has had to face or deal with some mountains in our lives. It does not matter if you attend the Booker Elementary School, West Prep, Canyon Springs High School or UNLV, all of us has had to face or deal with some mountains in our lives.

It does not matter if you are single, married, widowed, or divorced; all of us has had to face or deal with some mountains in our lives. You can be saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost ; you can belong to Second Baptist Church or St. Paul Church of God in Christ ; all of us has had to face and deal with some mountains in our lives. In matter of fact, some of us maybe facing or dealing with some mountains in their lives at this very moment.

In other words, we are not immune from facing or dealing with mountains in our lives. But there is a sweet relief in knowing that no matter what mountain you are facing and no matter what mountain you are dealing with right now, just be assured that they can be removed; because God is bigger than your mountain. In other words the mountains in your life are not to control you, but by the power of God, you control the mountains; for Jesus has said in Mark 11:22-23 "Have faith in God, For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, "Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

Now it must be understood that the mountain that Jesus was talking about being removed out of your life, you must understand he was not talking about Mount Charleston, Sunrise Mountain, Red Rock Mountain, Black Mountain, Mount Everest, or any other physical mountains that we see in the earth. The mountains that Jesus was talking about being removed are

the mountains of obstacles,

mountains of problems,

mountains of difficulties,

mountains of setbacks,

mountains of stumbling blocks,

mountains of troubles,

mountains of burdens,

mountains of hardship,

mountains of defeat

mountains of fear,

mountains of uncontrolled anger and bitterness

mountains of discouragement,

mountains of disappointments,

mountains of failure,

mountains of depression and sorrow,

mountains of peer pressure

mountains of negative thinking,

mountains of low self esteem ,

mountains of sickness,

mountains of crisis.

In other words , the mountain that Jesus Christ was talking about in this scripture is anything that stops your progress and growth in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. It means (mountains) anything that that stops you from coming to church, anything that stops you from joining the church, anything that stops you from worshipping the Lord, anything that stops you from serving the Lord. The mountain that Jesus Christ was talking about in this scripture is a mountain that keeps you stagnant, has you going backwards, and it will keeps you from moving forward in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is anything that keeps families from having peace and love to rule in their homes. It is anything that keeps husband and wives from loving each other. It is anything that keeps children from honoring and obeying their parents. It is anything that keeps children from doing well in school.

And Jesus Christ says when you are facing or dealing with some type of mountain in your life that has you all messed up , first of all, you need to look towards heaven, pray, and have faith in God to help you deal with the mountain in your life.. That is, you need to trust God. You need to have confidence in God. You need to rely on God. You need to believe on and in God. Jesus said in John 14:1 that when are facing life’s mountains, He says to "Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me."

And the reason why you should have faith in God and not doubt when you are facing the mountains in your lives is because:

1.God is bigger than your mountains

2.God is stronger than your mountains

3.God is larger than your mountains

4.God is wiser and smarter than your mountains

5.God is more powerful than your mountains

Jill Scott has a song that says

My love is deeper

Tighter

Sweeter

Higher

Flyy-er

Didn’t you know this,

Or didn’t you notice?

Well, I am here to tell you that God is tighter, sweeter, higher, and flyer than any mountain you face in this life!

You see, if God is stronger than your mountain, then the mountain you are facing and dealing with is weaker than God.

If God is bigger than your mountain, then the mountain you are facing is smaller than God. In matter of fact, when you comparing your mountain with God, it looks like a little mole hill.

You see, there is not a single mountain that God cannot handle, and if you just trust God and not doubt and say to your mountain to be removed and be cast in the sea; it shall come to pass. Psalm 37:3-5 says to "Trust in the Lord and do good; so shalt thou dwelt in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Mark 11:24 says, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when you pray, believe that you recieve them, and you shall have them."

Yes, we need to have faith in God, pray to God in faith, and not doubting if we want to be able to remove the mountains out of our lives. But I want to emphasis this one thing; you cannot live any kind of way and expect the mountains in your life to move. You cannot be using and selling drugs, and expect your mountains to move. You cannot be one getting drunk on alcohol and expect your mountain to move. You cannot be cussing people out and expect your mountains to move. You cannot be lying, stealing, cutting up in school, being disobedient to your parents, and expect your mountains to move. You cannot be mistreating your husband and wife, not providing for your children, messing with someone else husband and wife, and expect your mountains to move. You cannot hold a grudge against someone and expect your mountains to move. Mark 11:25-26 says, "And when you stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."

But notice something here. Notice that in Mark 11:23 it does not tell how fast the mountain will move. It just say that it will move if we trust in God, and not doubt. Nor does it tell us that how it will be moved. It just tell us that if we have faith in God, tell the mountain to move, and not doubt, the mountain will move. You see, you can’t hurry God when it comes to moving your mountains, nor can you force God to move the mountain in the way you want it to move. Your mountain may not move today, tomorrow, next week, or next year, but it will be moved. God may move your mountain all at once, or He may move your mountain piece by piece, little by little. But just know that your mountain will moved out the way. You must understand that God always work in His own time, and in His own way. But yet if we just trust God, and speak to our mountain to be removed, and not doubt , and believe God is able to move your mountain out the way, the scripture says it shall come to pass.

You see, when it comes to moving your mountains, God will sometimes just move the mountain out the way all himself.

Or sometimes God will send a person into your life for a season for a reason just to help you move the mountain out of your life.

Or sometimes God will give you the power, give you the strength, give you the wisdom, give you the directions, give you the guidance give you the understanding, give you the knowledge or the experience, give you the revelation that is found in the Word of God to enable you to move the mountain out of your life. That is why it is so important as Christians to be in the Word of God so you will be able to handle the mountains that we face or deal with in our lives.

But as contradictory as it may sounds, sometimes God will not move the mountain out of our lives. But He will sometimes guide you around the mountains, or He will give you give you the strength to climb over the mountains, or better yet God will bless you to go through the mountain. But know this one thing: if God does not move the mountain, it will be for your benefit to build character in your life, and it will be for His glory for the scripture does say in Romans 8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

The reason why I know God will sometimes not move some mountains out of your life because the Apostle Paul had a mountain in his life; a thorn in his flesh. He had prayed three times for this mountain, for this thorn in the flesh to be removed out of his life. But instead of moving this mountain out of his life, Jesus told him in 2nd Corinthians 12:9 that his grace is sufficient for thee. In other words what Jesus told the Apostle Paul was that His grace is all he needed to handle this particular mountain in his life. And likewise, the grace of God is just enough and all we need to help handle the mountains in our lives.

And throughout the Bible we read about people who were faced with mountains in their lives, but yet God was able to help them overcome the mountains.

For example, Joseph, who was rejected by his brothers, sold into slavery, lied upon and was put in jail, but in due time Joseph went from the prison house to the Pharoah palace because while Joseph was going through the storms of this life, God was able to help him overcome the mountains in his life.

Another example is Job. Job was a God fearing man and a wealthy man, but one day Job lost everything that he had including his ten children by death. His health went bad, and his wife wanted to deserted hm. But in due time, Job was blessed with a new family , new children, and was blessed with more stuff than he had before because while Job was going through the storms in this life, God was able to help him overcome his mountains.

Another example is Daniel and the three Hebrew boys. Daniel was thrown into the lion den, but God saved Daniel from getting eating up by the lion. The Hebrew boys were thrown into the furnace of fire, but God was with them in the furnace of fire and kept them from burning up. Why? Because God is able to help them overcome their mountains.

Another example is Apostle Paul. Apostle Paul, he was put in prison and beaten with rods for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was bitten by a snake, shipwrecked. He troubled on every side, but not distressed, perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed. Why? Because God was able to help Paul the mountains that he faces in his life.

And just as the Apostle Paul needed the Lord Jesus Christ to help him deal with the mountains in his life, you and I need the Lord Jesus Christ to help us deal with the mountains in our lives. We can’t handle life’s mountain by ourselves. We cannot move the mountains out of our lives by ourselves. We need the Lord Jesus Christ in our lives to help us to handle and to move the mountains that are in our lives. The bible says in Romans 10:9 that If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
