We’re in chapter 13: and we left off talking about “the mark of the beast” I want to say just a few more things to do with this and then Lord willing we’ll go on to chapter 14:
Ø Listen as I read verses 16-18 once again.
16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
The False Prophet will implement a system to demand worship from all. The rich and powerful will not be able to escape the requirements. All people will be forced to submit to worshipping of the Beast.
The mark will be a system that allows control of every individual. Without submission to the Antichrist there will be no ability to participate in the economic system.
Food, clothing, shelter and fuel will not be available to those who have not submitted to the Beast.

I have read that new technologies known as biometrics are being developed to track and control segments of the population.
Ø Listen- With the increase in terrorism little resistance to such a system can be logically justified today, people will do just about anything to feel safe.
Fear of terrorism has removed many of our concerns of intrusive government; citizens want to know who is a threat, and one way to do that is to have everybody marked and accounted for.

Not content to control people through religious deceit, the false prophet will institute strong economic measures as well. Everybody (except believers; 20:4) will receive a special mark in order to buy or sell; but the only way to get that mark is to submit to “the beast” and worship him.
He forces all men of every class and category of society to receive the mark of the beast either in their right hand or in the forehead, two places that are prominent and easily seen.
This is to enforce the worship of the beast and to make life impossible without his worship; men cannot buy or sell without this mark.
As a result of the decree to worship the beast and be in some way or another identified with his mark, multitudes of believers will be killed because they don’t have the mark and refuse to receive it.
Many may starve to death, since they cannot buy or sell.
Some will survive however, by living off the land or because other believers who have food share with those who do not.
They will some how endure through this terrible time. Remember the people that are saved in the Tribulation are people who had never heard the Truth before the rapture, the people that did hear and refused to be saved will take the mark probably by subtlety, they’ll see nothing wrong with it, God has sent them strong delusion and they’ll believe the lie that we read about in 2nd thess. 2:

Revelation 7:13-17 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
These are the tribulation saints that make it through the tribulation, but there will be other tribulation saints that will not make it through, they’ll either die because of the horrible environmental circumstances or they’ll be caught and beheaded.
Ø Remember the water will be turn to blood.
Revelation 16:4-6 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.**[not as, but became blood] –so there’ll be no drinking water.
5And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. 6For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
Ø Remember too that the sun will have increased to a scorching heat—
Revelation 16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
But the saints that are caught will be executed on the spot; their heads are cut off.
Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Ø These are the Tribulation Martyrs that I’m about to read about now.
chapter 6:9-11 9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
But lets get back to the “mark-number- or name in verse 18.
This is the name or number of the first beast and is one of the options for the mark, either his name or his number.-I personally believe that it will be a MICRO-CHIP just under the skin, or maybe a tattoo of his name in the forehead.
People have been giving their options forever it seems as to what this means but one opinion is as good as another, as far as I know as of now no one really knows what the mark will be, and certainly no one knows his name. However I think it’s very possible that we may have already saw the antichrist and just don’t realize it. You and I that are saved may never see him because he’s not revealed until the church is gone.
Ø He’ll not be revealed until after the rapture of the church.
2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only HE who now letteth will let, until HE be taken out of the way.** 8And then **shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth,--

Listen sinner friend, don’t you think God knows what’s best for us? Why listen to what some so called educated person explain to you {evolution} or any other number of man made ideas, lets trust God.
Jer. 17:5–8 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.----and then the middle verse of the Bible says

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man
14-words in this verse—14 the number of “deliverance”
Ø Listen-- God is in the 1st verse of the Bible, the middle verse and the very last.

Rev. 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ --
So lets not put a whole lot of stock in what some man might say, did you ever think about it; “man” would never have known that he was called “man” if God had not ever have told us what we are.
Ø Now back to our thought:
Christians should recognize Satan’s attempts to minimize the plans and people of God. And should become grounded in good solid bible doctrine and then we’ll not be carried away with every wind of mans philosophy and doctrine.
