Num 1-3 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
3 And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.
Num 13:30-33 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Num 14:1-2 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.
2 And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!
As we study the scriptures we find that there were some great men of God who all fell into the same trap. There was Moses who tried to disqualify himself from the call of God because he had a speech impediment.
There was Jeremiah who tried to run from the call of God, saying that he was just a child and that he was not ready for such a great responsibility.
Then there was Gideon who argued with God that he was the least qualified of anyone to deliver Gods people.
These were truly great men of God, but they all fell into the same trap.
They all had different excuses, but they were all saying the same thing (we can’t do it).
But in our text we are not just looking at or listening to the excuses of one man, it is an entire nation.
10 spies returned with a negative report and their negativity and unbelief infected and poisoned the spirits of the whole nation.
As a result; in the place and at the time when they should have broken through and they should have birthed their promised destiny.
(They had a breakdown, a miscarriage, they aborted the promise of God)
What was it that caused this spiritual abortion, this death of a dream, this denial of their destiny? (Was it the devil? Was it the giants that conquered them and killed thousands of them and left them beaten and bloody from the conflict?)
What was it that had the power to reach into the hearts and minds of over one million people and strip them of their faith and rob them of their destiny?
It was four words ( 4 words separated them from their promised blessing and stoled their destiny from them)
We Can’t Do It
It’s not just the words, it’s what is contained in those words.
Words are containers (You either fill them with faith and courage and confidence, or you fill them with fear and doubt and unbelief).
When Israel spoke those words they excluded God
Their words were full of unbelief and fear (their words were void of the God factor).
But I came to this house tonight to fill this atmosphere with the God factor.
The words I’m getting ready to speak today are pregnant with possibility, pregnant with potential, pregnant with power and pregnant with life.
Because they are filled with faith, they are filled with God.
I’m going to prophesy to you right now as the lord has commanded me, and there is going to be power in these words.
These words can move you from sickness to health, from weakness to strength, from loser to winner, from worry to worship, from stressed to blessed, from fearful to fearless, from lack to abundance, from sorrow to joy, from poverty to prosperity, from bondage to liberty and from weak and lowly to high and mighty.
I want you right now to lift your hands and ask God to open your spirit and give you ears to hear what he is saying right now.
I believe these words are going to penetrate your spirit, and somebody hearing this message is never going to be the same again.
The Lord said to me: Son I want you to open your mouth and prophesy to my people and declare to them {Yes You Can}
Yes You Can, Yes You Can, Yes You Can,
I don’t care what the critics are saying, I don’t care what the skeptics are saying, I don’t care what the economy is saying, and I don’t care what religious folks are saying
All I care about is (What is God Saying?)
All you need is a word from God.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear…. Heb 11: 3
When God got ready to create this world and this universe we live in, he didn’t go to the lumber yard, or home depot to get his materials (he just spoke) and it came into being.
In Gen 1:3 God said let there be light and there was light.
Vs 6 God said let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters and it was so.
Vs 14 God said let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from night, and it was so.
God said, God said, and God Saw.
I don’t know what impossible situation you are facing tonight; for you it may be financial, or it could be sickness in your body, or it could be marriage problems, or it could be your ministry is under attack.
I don’t know what your problem is, but I do know your answer ( It’s the word of God)
One word from God will drive cancer out of your body, One word from God can put meal in your barrel and oil in your cruse, A word from God will deliver you and set you free from any drug habit or addiction.
A word from God can restore your marriage, heal a broken heart.
Tell your neighbor: All you need is a word from God.
Peter and the disciples were caught in a storm, they were being tossed by the storm and their lives were being threatened.
The waters were rolling over their heads.
Then Jesus came to them walking on the sea.
Peter shouted out: Lord if that’s you bid me come to you on the water.
Jesus spoke one word (COME)
And Peter crawled out of the boat and jumped out on the water and started walking to Jesus.
It wasn’t the water that held Peter up, it was the Word.
His word said (Yes You Can)
Peter friends in the boat were saying: Peter you can’t walk on the water, ( but his word said Yes you can.
The wind and the waves said: You can’t walk on the water ( but his word said) Yes you can.
Peters own mind was telling him: You can’t walk on the water (but his word said) Yes you can.
The natural law of Physics said: You can’t walk on the water (but his word said) Yes you can.
And with One Word Peter stepped into the supernatural and peter went where they said he could never go and did what they said he could never do.
I prophesy to you tonight, some of you hearing this word are getting ready to step into a realm with God where you’ve never been, and you’re going to go places you’ve never gone, see things you’ve never seen and do things you’ve never done.
Somebody’s getting ready to bust a move, Somebody’s getting ready to get out of the boat, somebody’s going to make that cd you’ve been dreaming about.
Somebody’s going to go back to school and get your degree.
Somebody’s going to start your own business
Somebody’s going to launch that ministry God’s been dealing with you about.
In the insect world there is a little creature called the Bumblebee, and what is so amazing about this little creature is (it’s not suppose to be able to fly) For many years this creature has been the subject of intense study and for all the knowledge and all the wisdom at our disposal, we still cannot figure out how it can fly.
Scientifically from it’s physical structure it should just topple over on it’s head.
It’s wings are too small and it’s body is too big.
It’s not suppose to be able to fly
And if the bumblebee could hear all the studies, and theories, and scientific discussions and all the negative words of doubt and disbelief, he would probably fold his wings and have a nervous breakdown.
But the bumblebee can only hear one voice and it’s the voice of his creator, and it’s built into his DNA and it says (Yes You Can)
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens You.
Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
All things are possible to them that believe.
In the book of Gen Chapter 11 We the read the story of the Tower of Babel
Here we hear God speaking to a rebellious people.
Their motivation was wrong, but their ingredients were right. And God said of them, that nothing would be restrained from them which they imagined to do.
I came to tell you tonight that the word Can’t shouldn’t even exist in the vocabulary of the child of God.
A great secret of the bumblebees success is: he never sits around comparing himself with all the other bugs in the kingdom.
If I just had wings like the wasp, or if I just had legs like the grasshopper.
He just uses what he has.
God said to quit comparing yourself with other members of the kingdom and quit measuring yourself beside somebody else, and
(use what God gave you).
What you have is enough
You can laugh at the bumblebee, you can say it looks so big and clumbsy, You can say it’s body is too big and it’s wings are too small and fragile.
But it’s enough.
God gave the bumblebee exactly what it needed to fulfill it’s destiny.
And I just stopped by to tell you: God has given you enough.
11Kings 4 there was a little widow woman who thought she had nothing of any value, but the prophet said: It’s enough just use it. Put it to work, start pouring, as she poured it multiplied and delivered her from debt and made her prosperous.
Now tell your neighbor: You’ve got the right stuff
Now tell them: Yes you can
When I was a child I often dreamed I could fly, all I had to do was flap my arms like a bird and away I would go.
It was awesome, I flew over houses, above the tree tops, I flew between high-line wires and over cities.
Sometimes I flew so fast it was almost scary (it seemed so real to me that when I woke up I couldn’t hardly believe that I couldn’t actually fly).
It was so disappointing to wake up and discover that my ability to fly was limited to my dreams.
I would go to sleep at night with hopeful anticipation that I would have one of my flying dreams.
Over the years I have talked to others about my flying dreams, and some have related to me that they have had the same or at least similar dreams themselves.
Others have just laughed and said that’s ridiculous.
One thing I have found is that anyone who has had these type of dreams have all experienced the same excitement, and the same feeling of freedom and liberty like they had broken loose from something, and broken through some kind of barrier.
I didn’t understand it then but I am beginning to realize that in those dreams God was trying to get a message into my spirit ( God was trying to communicate to me that we were created to live and function and move on a higher level than the natural man.
When we were born again, we weren’t just born out of sin, sickness, disease, poverty, and lack.
We were born into the Kingdom of God, we were born into the realm of the supernatural and the miraculous, we were born into the realm of signs wonders, and miracles.
The atmosphere of the child of God is the realm of supernatural peace, joy, power, prosperity, wisdom and manifestations of the power and glory of God.
The devil is so afraid of what will happen when you take your place in the spirit that he does everything in his power to strip you of your wings.
He wants to keep you in the boat:
He knows you can walk on water, He knows you can fly, He knows you were created to live and function in the realm of miraculous
He just doesn’t want you to discover it.
He knows that Jesus gave you power to cast out devils and heal the sick, he knows that you are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, He knows that your body is the temple of the HolyGhost.
He knows that the same spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead lives in you.
And the devil knows that is normal for the child of God to have signs and wonders and miracles in their lives.
He just doesn’t want you to know it, He doesn’t want you to know you can fly.
The majority of Gods people today are stuck in the boat.
The boat represents: The familiar, the comfortable, the normal, the predictable, the expected, the natural.
The boat represents (Religion) (Tradition)
What keeps people in the boat?
One of the things that holds people in the boat is (Pride)
Pride is a killer
Pride is a thief
Pride is a deceiver
Pride is a enemy to the power of God
Ps 138:6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Pr 15:25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
Pr 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD:
Pride has robbed multitudes of their miracles, and stolen destiny from many of Gods people.
It’s easy to blame the devil for missing your blessing, but the truth is more than we want to admit it, it’s pride that keeps us from stepping out and stepping in.
Then there’s fear Fear: of what people might say
Fear: of making a mistake, fear of failure
Fear: of the unknown.
To move in the supernatural you have to be willing to step into the unknown zone
Abraham obeyed God, and went out not knowing whither he went.
Joshua said you must follow the ark that you may know which way to go, for you have not passed this way before.
In order to walk in the supernatural you have to get out of the boat.
To take hold of the power of God you have to let go.
Let go of religion, Let go of tradition, Let go of the past, Let go of Pride
Let go of fear, Let go of self preservation.
Peter had to get out of the boat to walk on the water
If you are going to walk on the water, you have to be willing to get wet
You have to take a risk
(You have to be willing to look crazy)
Moses looked crazy hitting a rock to get water out of it, but it worked
The children of Israel looked crazy walking around the walls of Jericho, but it worked
Elijah looked crazy upon Mt Carmel, building an altar and pouring twelve barrels of water on the sacrifice, then asking for God to send the fire, but it worked
No doubt, Elisha looked crazy when one of his student prophets lost a borrowed axehead in the water and Elisha cut down a stick and threw it in the water where the axehead sank, but it worked ( The axehead swam) to surface and the young prophet put out his hand and took it and went back to work.
And Peter looked like a crazy man, he looked like he lost his mind
That’s the whole point I’m trying to make (we are never going to live like Jesus until we think like Jesus) we are going to have to lose our minds and get the mind of Christ.
I know we credit Jesus for saving those disciples that day, but I just want to remind you that it was crazy peter who got Jesus attention, and it was crazy peter who got out of the boat and walked on the water to Jesus.
The truth is: it was crazy peter who saved those disciples lives, One man with a crazy faith, who made up his mind he would rather be a wet water walker, than a dry boat sitter.
I know it’s a hard pill for some of us to swallow, cause we’ve come a long way and we’ve got things pretty comfortable now.
But I’m just gonna stop right here and thank God for crazy peter
I’m just gonna stop right here and thank God for some crazy people in my life, who didn’t care what anybody said about them, who didn’t have to understand it all, and who were willing to jump out of the boat and look crazy.
I wish I had 30 people in here who had some crazy faith, Is there anybody in this house who has some crazy faith? Is there anybody in this house who knows how to praise God like you lost your mind.
Some of you will never get into the glory, you’ll never experience the power of God, because you’re too worried about looking pretty, you’re too worried about your hair falling down, or your makeup running, You’re too worried about your dignified reputation.
I’m going to tell you something, when you get desperate enough reputation don’t mean a whole lot, when you get desperate enough it’s not about emotions, when you get desperate enough nobody will have to pump and prime you to praise God.
I’m looking for some desperate crazy people in here tonight.
(My God) hell is on high alert right now, the devil is shaking in his boots right now, he’s looking at you right now, and he knows somebody is getting desperate, somebody is getting ready to fly, somebody is getting ready to jump out of the boat and walk on the water.
When Samson set 300 foxes tails on fire (They ran like crazy)
They had one agenda (move)
When David had obeyed divine order and had the blessing of God on his life and was bringing the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem (He danced with all his might, He danced like a crazy man, he danced like he’d lost his mind).
All I’m trying to say to you tonight is this ( if you’re going to fly, if you’re going to walk on water, if your going to move in the supernatural glory of God,)
You might as well settle it right now (Somebody is going to call you crazy)
I don’t want to offend anybody, and I don’t want to label anybody, but I just wonder is there any crazy people in the house?
I’m talking about the kind of crazy that can believe God regardless of what the doctors report is.
The kind of crazy that can praise God in the middle of your pain, right in the middle of that divorce, right in the middle of that court battle, right in the middle of that attack on your ministry.
Somebody’s coming out of depression tonight
Somebody’s coming out of a trial that’s been going on for a long time
Somebody’s coming out of an attack that’s been launched against your family and your ministry.
Somebody’s coming out of a religious strong hold that has held you for years and kept you from stepping out into the power of God.
You were created to fly
But you got to flap your wings.
You were created with the ability to walk on water, but you have to get out of the boat.
I’ve told some people about my flying dreams and they just laughed like I was crazy, but I don’t care
I would rather be crazy and fly, than sit around in a boat the rest of my life with a bunch of sane people that never take a risk, never try anything new, never stretch, and never see the power of God manifested in their lives.
The rest of Peters life he had this testimony: I walked on the water with Jesus
The rest of those disciples lives they had a testimony too: We watched, we saw peter walk on the water with Jesus.
I just have to believe that I’m talking to somebody who can’t be satisfied to have the testimony: I watched somebody else walk on the water
I watched somebody else do what I could have done, I should have done.
It was not Gods plan that only Peter would walk on the water, but Peter was the only one who got out of the boat.
The same word that sustained Peter, would have sustained everyone of them.
Tell your neighbor: There’s no excuse
Now tell your neighbor: I love you and I don’t want to offend you, but for the next few minutes you’re going to have to excuse me, cause I’m getting ready to go off the deep end.
I’m getting ready to praise God like I’ve lost my mind,
Cause I’m getting ready to move into the miraculous (There’s some things that I need in my life and in my ministry) and the only way to get them is to get out of the boat.
Come on and stand up right now, and move your feet, stretch your arms, lift your voice to God, shout with a voice of triumph.
Somebody’s life is changing forever right now, somebody is never going to be the same again.
You are never going to fit into that religious mold again, you are never going to fit into that traditional mold again, God has called you to glory, God has called you to fire, God has called you to power.
Tell your neighbor: I’m stepping out, you might want to move over a little bit cause I’m getting ready to fly.
Somebody listening to me right now, God said to tell you (you’re getting your wings)
Just like when a pilot passes his course and he is qualified to fly he gets his wings.
God said: You are qualified to fly, and right now you’re getting you’re wings.
Look at your neighbor and tell them: Yes You Can
