The Working of All Things
Bearing your fruit
Gen. 4:1-16
• The Word of God begins with such a positive scene
o How that God took nothing and made a spectacular Something
The beauty of the creation story can only truly unfold as your imagination begins to pull the words off of the page and produces visions in your mind.
o Everything was simply a paradise
Untouched and undefiled by the workings of sin
Disobedience to God didn’t exist
• It had no rule
• It had no meaning yet
• It was something that was unthought-of
• It was something that was unheard of
• God placed man (his most prized creation)
o As keeper of the garden of God
A place called Eden
• The only thing God required was (don’t touch the tree)
o The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil
o God told Adam “in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surley die”
• So Life Began
o A perfect paradise
o Adam and Eve didn’t have to worry about anything --everything was simply a reach away
• Something happened
o As time went on (who knows how long)
o One day the serpent came to Eve
I don’t believe that she went to the tree
I believe the serpent came to her and drew her to the tree
She ate the fruit but she wasn’t alone
• Adam was WITH her (Gen. 3:6)
Though FRUIT, sin entered the world
• Cain and Abel offering a sacrifice to God
o Each brother offering something different
The fruit of their labor
• Abel offered the firstlings of his flock - the fat thereof
• Cain offered the Fruit of the ground
o The word said that God had respect unto Abel’s but not unto Cain’s
• Cain’s countenance fell
o Cain talked with Abel
o “Cain rose up against his brother and slew him”
OVER FRUIT
The Lord talks to Cain
• God told Cain that the blood of Abel cried unto Him from the ground
o Gen. 4:11-13
So now jyou are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. 12 When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”
13 And Cain said to the LORD, “My 7punishment is greater than I can bear!
• OVER FRUIT
o As we go a little further in scripture we come to the book of Numbers 13:
The children have been wondering in the wilderness
• Now they are standing on the border of God’s promise
• And they sent spies into the land
• They spies have been searching out the land for forty days
o And finally they come to Moses and Aaron and showed them the Fruit
o A cluster of grapes so massive that it took two men to bare it
STANDING AT THE BORDER OF THE PROMISE
• There is a message in stepping when God says step
• There is a message on taking what God says is you’re and possessing the Promises of God
o I believe that if they had stepped into the promised land that God would have lifted the curse placed on the land by Cain
o If we learn to step when God says step
The fruit of our labor will be greater than anything we have ever imagined
• If we are obedient to the Lord
o Bearing the burden of All Things
Wont seam so bad
Will be worth it after all
• Because you will see the
o Fruit of your labor
o Good come from the burden
You’ll begin to say
It was worth it after all
• Its time that we start acting like the church
• Its time that we start sounding like the church
• Its time that we start looking like the church
o In today’s society everybody clams to be a Christian
o In today’s society everybody claims to pray
But its funny to me they don’t have any fruit
• The word tells me in Matthew 7:16
o Ye shall know them by their fruits.
• Not only that I don’t see the fruit of the spirit working like it should
o Galatians 5:22-26
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affectionsb and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
• In the garden we wanted what we couldn’t have The Fruit
• Now, God has freely given us fruit but nobody wants it anymore
o Romans 6:22-23
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

• Nobody wants the fruit
o Everybody wants to talk about living Holy
But nobody wants to sacrifice
• Nobody wants to be different anymore
o Nobody wants to be a peculiar people anymore
Nobody wants to fast
Nobody wants to teach a home bible study
Nobody wants to educate themselves with the Word
Nobody wants to pray
• It’s a shame when we can barely get 6 people to show up for the most important service of the week
o MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER
Last but not least
• NOBODY WANTS TO REPENT
o People get offended if you ask them to repent
I have done anything wrong
ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE
• Its time to bear our fruit
• Its time to produce
o And to let our works be seen
BEAR THE BURDEN
