# 8~FIVE pt.3—SIX pt.1 ~MEANING OF BIBLE NUMBERS~ 11-26-11

Today we’ll continue talking about the number five and as I told you before, five has a two fold meaning, we have already pointed out that it clearly stands for “grace” and it also stands for “DEATH”, as we’ll see.

You that have access to the internet go too “sermons central.com” and find the word “contributors” click, and there you’ll find my name, William D. Brown, click my name and it will open up, you can read, copy or listen if you so desire to all these studies as well to our verse by verse study on the Revelation, along with many others also. Solomon tells us that there’s nothing new under the sun, so you’re invited to do what ever might be a help to you.

Let us not put our light under a bushel.

------------------

GEN. 5: could be called the death chapter because we read about so much death in that chapter, notice the chapter is five.

This chapter reveals man’s value to God by naming individuals and stages in this early human phase, it also shows us that everyone is known and remembered by God, maybe no one else will remember us but God does, have you ever thought about the fact that about two or three generations from now you and I will be history, very few will even know we ever exited, but God remembers, do you know any thing about your great, great, great grand parents? Probably not, but God does.

Often I look in the obituaries of the local news paper and 99% of the time I know none of these recently deceits people, that’s the way it is.

I think of a man named Antipas in Rev. 2:13—Jesus said --- even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Nothing previously is said about this man Antipas or afterward, but Jesus remembered that he was His faithful martyr, if this was not pinned down in the Bible we would have never known any thing at all about Brother Antipas, Jesus wants you and I to see that He does not forget, and like Brother Antipas, all die.

I’ve said all that to say this, all of us are going to die one day that is a solemn fact, unless the rapture should take place and then we that are saved will suddenly be changed into our glorified body.

Hebrews 9: 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Therefore what we do now in our short life span here will have a Hugh bearing on what He will allow us to do for Him yonder in His coming Kingdom and perhaps the New earth as well, our little life time here is only the preparation time for us to get ready to live forever more.

--------

Also Gen.5: demonstrates the reign of death by the repeated words—“and he died” over and over, also we have a picture of deaths defeat by RAPTURE in the taking of Enoch.

-----------------------

Chapter 5 is the death chapter of Gen. in this chapter the first man Adam dies and it’s in verse five, chapter 5: verse 5.

The word “DIED” is found 8 times in this chapter 5:-more than any other chapter of Gen.

“Died” is found 7 times in chapter 36:

The word “death” is found 491times in our KJ Bible.

Listen as I read to you these verses in Gen. 5, and notice the first man dies in chapter five and verse five.

Vs. [5] And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

[8] And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.

[11] And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.

[14] And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.

[17] And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.

[20] And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.

[27] And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

[31] And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.

This chapter tells us that when it’s all said and done all men DIE.

Noah was given a long life as well, of 950 years in Genesis 9:28-29 And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. 29And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

That means that Noah was 600 years old when God sent the flood, (6) mans number.

The flood is a type of the Tribulation, the ARK is a type of Christ, we’re safe in Him, you’ve heard me say before, that Noah and his family may have fallen down many times in side the ark, but none every fell out, they could not have gotten out if they wanted to, because we read in; -- Genesis 7: 16 ---and the LORD shut him in.

No one could open or close this door but God, and don’t forget that Jesus is the DOOR to heaven.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Moreover, we read in Gen.7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; this tells us that God Himself was already in side the ARK, He didn’t say go in side but come in side.

You and I may and do from time to time have our ups and downs in our Christian experience, we fall from what we should be many times, but we’ll never fall out of Christ, but people must be IN Christ to be saved.

Jude 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, --

Eph.1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Let us never forget Brothers and Sisters, whether some like to admit it or not, we’re sinners saved by grace, still sinners but saved by grace, if we are not still sinners why do we ask God every day to forgive our sins?

Luke 11:1-4 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. 2And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3Give us day by day our daily bread. 4And forgive us our sins;--

1 John 1:9-10 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. =====Rom. 3:4-let God be true, but every man a liar-

----------

ACTS 5: we have the record of a man named Ananias along with his wife Sapphira, listen how the FIVES fit in to their deaths.

NOTICE chapter five of Acts.

1But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

His crime was not withholding the money, but in deceptively implying that he was giving it all.

3But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

God apparently gave Peter supernatural knowledge of what Ananias had done.

4Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

Peter did not accuse Ananias of lying to the church, or to the apostles, but to the Holy Spirit Himself.

Five **And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

6And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

Both husband and wife were in on the deception.

7And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

9Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

Notice vs.10, 2 x 5~ 10** Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.----- Proverbs 15:8--the sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord.

--------------

Ephesians 5: 25 ~~here we have six fives; five times six is thirty, the number of BLOOD.

Here Christ died for His Church and shed His Precious Blood for the Church.

Ephesians 5: 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;--

-------------------------------

Proverbs 5:1- 5 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: 2That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge. 3For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: 4But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two edged sword.

5** Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

Therefore, # 5 has a two fold meaning, GRACE and DEATH.

------------

Now let’s look at the number six for a few minutes; --

SIX shows the WEAKNESS OF MAN and also the EVILS OF SATAN. This is true all through the Word of God.

SIX is mentioned 331times in our KJ Bible.

Man was created on the SIXTH day. God’s appointed days of labor were SIX.

Genesis 1:24-31—31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day

LISTEN~ Under the law they WORKED the 1st six days of the week, (Sunday through Friday) so what this means is, they WORKED 1st and worshipped last –SATURDAY- that was their weekly Sabbath day.—notice at this time they were not under GRACE but LAW.

Listen, the command in EXO. 20:8 “remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy” is the only one of the 10 commandments that is not found in the N.T.—the SABBATH day is altogether to do with the Jews under the Law, we’re not under the law but under GRACE.

There is a certain church that worships on Saturday, the Jewish Sabbath, and their not Jews nor or they under the law, it’s my feeling that if they want to worship God on Saturday that’s great, just be sure to go to Church and Sunday and worship Him again, worship God every chance you get no matter what day it is.

Sunday is the 1st day of the week.

~ Under GRACE as we are today, we WORSHIP 1st- (SUNDAY) and then work Monday through Saturday. ---

Under the law the Jews worked first (Sunday-Friday) and worshipped last (Saturday) under grace we worship first (SUNDAY) and work lasts (MONDAY- SATURDAY) we’re not saved by works.

-------------------------

Listen, if you have a pin and paper near by I want you to jot this down, you’ll find this most interesting. Romans 6:

ROMANS is the 6th book of the NT, it has the word MAN in it, it tells MAN how he became a sinner in chapter 5:12 by the sin of the 1st MAN Adam, it also tells MAN that by ONE MAN-Jesus CHRIST , we can be saved.

Have you got your pin ready? MAN is the sixth word six times in this 6th book. ---mark these in your Bible.

Romans 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man,--

3 And thinkest thou this, O man, ----

6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:--

-----

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Romans 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: --

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him,

Sixth book, sixth chapter, sixth verse, and sixth word—MAN, six times.

Here they are again in case you missed some, 2:1—v3—v6, and then in 3:28, then 5:7, and last 6:6.

----------------

Well our time has come and gone, it’s my hope and prayer that as we see these Bible number meanings that it will cause our faith to increase as we realize that only our Great God could have worked this out, no man are group of men could have ever accomplished such a wonderful truth.
