In John 13:26 *(2x13) we read about Judas Iscariot. (13) And we notice that his name, "Judas Iscariot" as we refer to him, has 13 letters in it.

John 13:26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

Nimrod, the chief rebel after the flood, was the THIRTEENTH in the line of Ham. In their THIRTEENTH year of servitude, the kings of the nations rebelled.

Genesis 14:4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled

Twelve represents the Government of God and THIRTEEN represents the governments of men in rebellion against God. They were trying to get too Heaven another way.

Here both numbers are used, TWELVE which represents the GOVERNMENT BY DIVINE AUTHORITY, and THIRTEEN representing REBELLION AGAINST GOD.

--------------------

* Moses wrote of Israel's 21 rebellions in Deuteronomy 31:27

For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; ---

When this scriptural reference is added vertically, (3 + 1 + 2 + 7), we get THIRTEEN, the number of rebellion.

-------

Haman the Agagite had a decree signed on the THIRTEENTH day of the first month that on the THIRTEENTH day of the 12th month all Jews in the Persian Empire were to be killed Esther 3:8-13-----

We all know the story; Haman winds up on the gallows that he prepared for Mordecai, Esther's

Cousin, Haman is a good picture of the tyrant of Persia today, "Iran" he'll eventually hang his self as he is bent on destroying the Jews.

And let me say right here, Iran will never drop a nuclear bomb on Israel because God has already said in

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; ---

The dragon, a symbol for Satan, is found THIRTEEN times in the Revelation. Satan is behind all rebellion against God.

(12:3; 12:4; 12:7 (Twice); 12:9; 12:13; 12:16; 12:17; 13:2; 13:4; 13:11; 16:13;

In Rev. THIRTEEN 11-12 we find the satanic trinity: 11And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; (false prophet) and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (Satan) 12And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,--(antichrist)

We believe the Church of Rome will head up the one world church once the True Church has been taken out of this world, and that the Pope will be the FALSE PROPHET.

* Notice; in the title of the HARLOT CHURCH, there are THIRTEEN words in it.

Rev.17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

---------------

THIRTEEN times the phrase, "For ever and ever" is used in the Book of Revelation.

-------

Jesus mentions THIRTEEN things when He gave a picture of the REBELLIOUS and DEPRAVED heart of man, in

Mark 7:21-22 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed (1) evil thoughts, (2) adulteries, (3) fornications, (4) murders, (5) thefts, (6) covetousness, (7) wickedness, (8) deceit, (9) lasciviousness, (10) an evil eye, (11) blasphemy,'(12) pride, (13) foolishness.

23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

This is certainly a good picture of a DEPRAVED heart, regardless of how much fallen man may resent this picture; this is what Jesus the Son of God has spoken against him.

-----------------------

In Romans 1:29-31 there are TWENTY THREE things listed against sinful man. The THIRTEENTH is "Haters of God".

How did it happen that the THIRTEENTH in the list was "Haters of God"? There can be but one answer: THIRTEEN is the number for the depraved, rebellious, sinful nature of man.

Being depraved in his nature, he is a hater of God.

Romans 8:7 The carnal mind is enmity** (hostile) against God." This is something for those to consider who deny the doctrine of DEPRAVITY.

-----------------------------------

Counting the Levitical tribe there were THIRTEEN divisions of the nation Israel. Jacob had twelve sons.

Genesis 35: 23-26 Now the sons of Jacob were twelve: 23The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun: 24The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin: 25And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali: 26And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram

Joseph had two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim by his (EGYPTIAN) wife while in Egypt.

Gen.41:45--and he (Pharaoh) gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On.

Genesis 41:50 And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

------------------

Jacob adopted them as his sons. (Genesis 48:5).

This eliminated the name of Joseph from the list of the tribes, leaving ELEVEN. But it added the names of Ephraim and Manasseh, making THIRTEEN in all.

When the tribes were numbered in Number 1:1-47 the Levites were not numbered among them.

Vs.47 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.

That is why we so often read of the TWELVE tribes of Israel. But if the Levites are included in the count there are THIRTEEN tribes, or divisions.

-------------------------

There were TWELVE princes** (leader-head) chosen for the TWELVE tribes that were numbered.

The list of those tribes and their princes are found in Numbers 1:5-16.

„« The Tribes are: ------------ And the princes (leader-head of the tribes) are:

1. Reuben . Elizur

2. Simeon . Shelumiel

3. Judah . . Nahshon

4. Issachar . Nathaneel

5. Zebulun . Ehab

6. Ephraim Elishama

7. Manasseh Gamaliel

8. Benjamin Abidan

9. Dan . . . Ahiezer

10. Asher. . Pagiel

11. Gad ... Eliasaph

12. Naphtali. Ahira

-------------------------------------------------------

Numbers 1:5-16 reveals this list to be correct, also the name of the tribe of Levi and the name of Aaron the first high priest are not found in the list.

When there was a REBELLION against the priesthood of Aaron in (Numbers 16:1-47),

The Lord had these TWELVE princes (tribal leaders) to bring their rods to Moses. Each man's name was to be put on his rod.

Then Aaron brought his rod for the tribe of Levi, and it was put among the TWELVE rods.

This made THIRTEEN rods in all, one for each of the twelve princes listed above and one for Aaron. These rods were placed in the tabernacle over night. The next morning Aaron's rod was bearing (1) buds, (2) blossoms, and (3) almonds.

„« They looked, and every man took his rod. Then God said to Moses,

(Numbers 17:1-10) Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the "REBELS."

Here the number THIRTEEN is connected with REBELLION.

Aaron's rod that budded -- The golden pot of hidden manna--two tablets with the 10 commandments was inside the Ark of the Covenant at the back of the Tabernacle, called the HOLY OF HOLIES.

------------------------

In Aaron's rod there is also a picture of the resurrection of our Lord. When Aaron brought that rod to Moses it was a dead walking stick. The next morning it was a living stick with (1) buds, (2) blossoms, and (3) almonds.

„« It was a witness against those who REBELLED and rejected the priesthood of Aaron.

In like manner the resurrection of Christ was a witness against those who rejected Christ and had Him put to death. ---He is today our High Priest.
