Summary: All saved people will be judged and rewarded according to what they did or did not do for Jesus after they were saved, if their works were good they will be rewarded, if their works were bad they shall suffer loss, yet they themselves are saved.

1Cor. 3:10-15 ~ THE JUDGEMENT OF THE REDEEMED ~ 6-2-12

* The judgment of saved people:

It seems that a lot people have the idea that, well I'm saved so now I can do what ever I want to do; to start with, "our want to do" will not be to dabble in the sinful things of the world maybe as before, if there's no obvious change it may be because there's been none, but I must say this, a person that has been a drunk for years or perhaps a prostitute and maybe notorious for his or her filthy mouth, there will be an obvious change, because he or she will suddenly quit all of these things, but a person that never has really lived a very wicked life may not be so noticeable after their saved, because they may have been good people before they were saved,** "morally speaking".

But good moral people are just as lost as any drunk that walks the street, when God looks on the heart of people He will either see that this person has been cleansed by the Blood of Jesus or he has not.

We think of Nickodemus in John 3: he was a good religious man, he had religion, and Jesus said to him in;

Verses 3-5 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

(WATER- The Word of God- Eph 5:26 --the washing of water by the word,)

SPIRIT-(Holy Spirit- Rom. 8:9- if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you)

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

* There are two judgments:

The redeemed will be judged and rewarded for what they did for Jesus after they were saved.

The lost sinner will be judged 1007 years later at the WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT of the lost for their wickedness. -7 year Tribulation, 1000 year reign of Christ.

John 5: 28-29 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29And shall come forth; (not at the same time) they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; (saved) and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (Lost)

Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

There will be no hidden secret sins at either judgment.

Psalm 90: 8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

-----------------

The judgment of the saved may not be such a happy occasion for most of us, I believe as we're standing or kneeling before Jesus and He looks at our record, I'm sure most of us will wish we had lived a godlier life, and witnessed for Him a lot more.

On that day all of our deeds, motives and works will be brought into the light of His glory and they will be seen for what they are. -- The day shall declare it, there's coming a day that all saved people will stand before Jesus the Judge and give an account of our service to Him.

Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

------------------------

1 Cor. 3: 10-15 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

~Let every man be careful how he or she builds on this foundation, for our deeds in this lifetime, that is, after we were saved, will determine our rewards at that time.

Matthew 25: 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: --

I have said many times, what we do for Jesus on this side of the rapture (after we're saved) will have a Hugh bearing on what He will allow us to do for Him on the other side of the rapture, in His Kingdom and even beyond.

------------

11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. ~There is nothing else to build on other than Christ, all else is sinking sand. ~

12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, --- -- these materials represent good works, and these will not burn, this is to do with dedicated, spiritual service that helps build up the church, the Body of Christ.

-- Wood, hay, stubble; -- these materials represent bad works and will burn.

These are not like the other materials in that, fire will engulf such as these and destroy each one; these are to do with useless activity with no eternal value.

------------

13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: ** (made known) for the day shall declare it, --the judgment day of the redeemed, this judgment happens just after the Church is raptured.

- because it shall be revealed by fire; -- "IT" our works after we were saved -- and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

-- Is our works good or bad, Christian or worldly?

The fire is His righteous judgment as His piercing eyes view our works.

Revelation 1:14 -- and his eyes were as a flame of fire;--

-----

14If any man's work abide ** [is still standing] which he hath built thereupon, (on the foundation) -- he shall receive a reward. -- If our works can withstand His fiery judgment, His Holy Judgment, we'll receive a reward.

---------

15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

- Regardless of whether our works are good or bad, we're saved, this judgment is not to determine if we're saved or not, we wouldn't be at this judgment if we're not saved, we're not judged at this time as to whether we're lost sinners are not.

- Sin was judged at Calvary, He paid for our sins as He died in the sinners place, He paid every persons sin debt, but every person will not except His payment, they'll not receive Him, so they are lost sinners and will pay on their sin debt forever, it's a debt that lost sinners can never pay off.

ƒÞ We've all heard the saying, "He paid a debt He did not owe, and we owed a debt we could not pay".

Even now after we've been saved we still sin, perhaps we don't realize it, and maybe at times we do, we are sinners saved by grace.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

There is the sin of "omission" that is we did not do what we should have, and there's the sin of "commission" we commit sins knowingly.

Commit murder; commit adultery and other sins purposely. - "SIN" is sin.

James 4: 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Proverbs 24:9 The thought of foolishness is sin:

I'm sure all of us are guilty of these sins, but thank God for

1 John 1:7-- and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

All sin, past, present and future sins. ALL SIN.

Listen; When we sin after we've been saved, we will pay the consequences for those sins here in this life and at the Judgment seat of the saved, possible losing rewards that we could have had, [bad works] but the sins themselves were completely paid for by the Lord Jesus at Calvary.

------------

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. - remember, after we're saved, Paul here include himself when he "we".

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,-- saved people can never be condemned, because we're IN CHRIST JESUS.- The devil can not get to us because he would have to come INTO CHRIST JESUS to get to us, and that's not going to happen.

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Notice, we're in Him and He is in us.

------------

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

------------

Our Christian life is much like a building as well, a good building must have a solid foundation, and Christ is the Foundation, now we must build on this Foundation in a manner that we're edifying the Church, the Building, and that we might receive a reward.

At this judgment we will have to give account of the way we lived after we were saved, that is, how we worked on the Building, did we use material that would stand the test of fire, or will the material burn?

----------

> What are a few of these things we do that will have to be accounted for?

How We Use Our God-given Abilities -- How We Use Our Money-- How We Treat Others-- How We Spend Our Time-- How We Run The Race God Has Chosen For Us-- How Effectively We Control The Old Nature--

How Many Souls We Witness To And Win To Jesus-- How We React To Temptation-- How Much We Love The Rapture.

These will determine our reward or rewards.

In the bible we're told of five crowns that the faithful saint of God could possibly receive:

1. The Incorruptible Crown -- Awarded for faithfulness to the Lord.

1 Cor. 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

2. The Crown of Life -- For the person who endures and overcomes temptation --

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

3. The Crown of Rejoicing -- This is the soul winners' crown --

1 Thess. 2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

4. The Crown of Righteousness -- This will be given to those who are looking for and longing for the return of Jesus --

2 Tim. 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

5. The Crown of Glory -- This will be given to the faithful ministers who give themselves to lead and feed the flock of God --

1 Pet. 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

-----------------------------------------

ƒÞ What will we do with these crowns? - This is just after the rapture.

Rev. 4:4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, ** (church) clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

--

10-11 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

If we should receive a crown we will gladly cast them at His feet because He is the ONE worthy to have them and not us.
