#1~ GOD BIBLE DOCTRINE 6-9-12

Today Lord willing we'll begin a new study, by Gods grace and help we're going to talk about various Bible doctrines, "Bible doctrine" means "Bible teaching".

There are a lot of things that are preached and taught today that are not taught in the Bible, therefore they are man made and much of the time "denominational doctrines or teachings", let me say that if what is being preached or taught is not from the WORD OF GOD, not only is the speaker wasting his time but is wasting the listeners time as well and will have to answer for such at the judgment.

--------

Galatians 1: 8-9 though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Ephesians 4:14 that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, (teaching) by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;--

Let me say too that what ever I might say on any subject is not the last and final word on the matter either, however there are many subjects in the bible that I am settled on and nothing or no one can change my mind on the matter.

-------

Before we get into the various doctrines that we find in the Bible we first of all must be settled on the fact that GOD is real, that in it's self is the major bible doctrine, if we are not believers in the fact that God is, then nothing else will matter, if there is no God then there can not be any thing else in the Bible that's true, are you settled in your heart that God is real or are you unsure?

--------

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

What is known as Christian theology is really "a discourse about God and divine things." It is a must to believe that God is, and that the Bible is His Word before we can get into its teaching on any other subject.

For example, the doctrine of redemption willingly accepts the divine existence, and divine revelation in Scripture, divine nature and attributes, divine work in creation and providence, none of these truths would be possible without the reality of God.

----------------------

His reality and natural attributes are taught by the design and workmanship revealed in the material universe; and also in the laws which govern it.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handy-work.

I've become a firm believer of gardening by the "farmers almanac" the zodiac signs, the old farmers have did this for years, we can look on most good calendars and see ahead of time what phase the moon will be in on any given day and even year, only God could have directed this order of the moon phases and constellations, their always right on time, you that like to piddle with growing things let me encourage you to look into these zodiac signs, if that sounds a little bit far out for some of you let me use the words, "farmers almanac".

> The zodiac signs are mentioned in

Job 38: 31-33 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, (a cluster of stars)

or loose the bands of Orion? (Any notable constellation)

32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth (the zodiac) in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus (the constellation of the Great Bear) with his sons? 33Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? --- These are in the bible.

There is no greater witness than the book of nature so to speak, how full it is of revealed demonstrations of a Supreme intelligence and Architect.

There surely had to be a Superior Intelligence responsible for the beautiful heavens above, with their glorious constellations and glittering lights; and also for the abundant clothing of the earth with its grass and flowers and forests; and streams, multiplied minerals all of which man and beast require for their sustenance.

* There's surely a Supreme Intelligence that created all things:

The existence of natural objects shows that they must have had a Maker, for there can be no effect without a sufficient cause. A house proves that it must have had a builder, and the universe with all its wonders must have had a Maker.

Man, by the powers of reason and observation is able to comprehend the order and structure of things around him. He can perceive how they are formed and grouped, and by what laws they are organized.

He can formulate the laws of motion, guiding the heavenly bodies in their orbits--investigate and chart the animal and vegetable kingdoms, as well as his own being.

This fact of the intelligibility of the universe leads us, logically and inevitably to the conclusion that it must have been fashioned by a mind greater than man's mind.

The laws that rule our thinking find expression in the laws and arrangements of heavenly bodies.

The universe is as a mirror reflecting man's own powers, proving, there-by, a kinship between the mind of man and the mind behind the universe.

Listen, a causeless phenomenon is impossible--listen, an uncaused beginning is inconceivable--a mindless world could not produce itself and life in it. ***

Origin implies an originating power, the cause being sufficient to produce the effect.

-----

There are supposedly brilliant minded people of our day that have come up with the THEORY of EVELUTION, it makes about as much sense as a watch maker tossing the watch parts into the air and when they hit the ground the watch is together and running, it takes far more faith to believe that than to place our faith in what God's Word says.

----------

Everywhere, nature reveals marvelous evidence of design or adaptation of means to an end, and as design implies a designer; and since design in nature is far superior to anything man is capable of, the designer of the universe must be someone much greater than man.

Whether we think of time and space, force and matter, or dependence of finite parts, we must conclude that there must have been a Cause outside the universe.

Man can build a lot of things, but man can not create something out of nothing.

I believe in the BIG BANG THEORY, God said "let there be light" and BANG there it was.

Behind all intermediate processes there must have been a Being-- a causative without being caused, who has existence in Himself.

Listen, If "order is heaven's first law," then nature abounds in proof that God, as a God of order and not disorder, is the One who fashioned the laws of nature. ***

-----

Listen, There is a power somewhere because there are effects everywhere.

There is wisdom somewhere because wise deeds are accomplished everywhere.

There is intelligence somewhere for there are order and arrangement every-where.

There is goodness somewhere for there are beneficent agents and resultant gladness everywhere.

The mental act is of necessity prior to the physical, that is, thought precedes action, and therefore there is intelligence prior to the order.

"Nature," it has been said "is God's Braille for a blind humanity, but no information can be gleaned from nature as to the depravity of the human heart and its cure; and of the love of God for a fallen humanity revealed in the redemptive work of Christ.

Neither can nature tell us anything about eternity, and of the conditions necessary for a blessed future. These deeper revelations can only be found in the only Book revealing God -- the Bible, although nature describes the power, wisdom and greatness of God there are countless illustrations of His grace, love and healing power, all healing comes from God, be it miraculous or of our family doctor.

----------

* One man said that "history" is HIS --STORY, God has revealed Himself in His dealings with the human race. From Adam's day down through the ages, God has not left Himself without witness.

Through succeeding generations God's over-ruling Providence has been at work, in known historical events He was surely near by, achieving His purpose.

-------

Its obvious that God has a master plan as we can plainly see the pieces coming together in our day and time, He has never been surprised about any thing, nothing has ever just occurred to God, He knows every thing and knows when and where all things will happen, He can cause something to happen today that will have its impact 10 years away or at His set time, every thing is right on schedule nothing is early or late, He puts up kings and takes down kings to accomplish His plan and His will, man can not do any thing about it, men are as pawns on a chess table so to speak, God moves men around to cause this or that to happen, and one day at His set time He'll call check mate and we'll be out of here, He is the Director.

-------

Dr. Handley Moule said "Man, rightly and fully studied, is himself a revelation of the Being of God"; the recognition of the existence of and responsibility to God dwells in all men. Heathen peoples who have not received the Bible or Christianity yet possess a belief in a chief god or spirit of some kind.

While in many cases a number of gods may be worshiped, and it seems to always be the case that one is usually singled out for supreme honor.

The ancient Romans worshiped innumerable gods, but Jupiter was the greatest ruler of all to them, evidence of this inbred recognition of God is found in the inscription Paul describes on the altar at Athens --"To the unknown God" (Acts 17:23).

----------------

Nature, history and man only partially reveal the existence of God. The Bible alone gives us the complete and final revelation of His words, works and ways.

Only the Holy Bible tells of His glorious attributes, activities and appearances. The Bible alone gives man God's dealings with man, and of His creation, all of which at first was in innocence and purity; also of mans tragic and irretrievable fall; but also mans way back to God by the redemption through the finished work of Christ.

The Bible tells us of the future for believers and unbelievers as well, here in this country as well as many other places around the world people can read what's to happen, it warns people to be ready, the Bible tells us about the resurrection, judgment, heaven and hell are all brought to mans knowledge.

--------

Everywhere the Bible speaks in the name and authority of God and assumes that there is a consciousness of God within the human soul that will recognize and respond to His claims.

* Divine inspiration of the very words of Scripture:

1st Cor. 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

2nd. Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

---------

The full and final revelation of the character and will of God was made known in His beloved Son.

John 14:7-9 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

The complete revelation of God came to man through the Incarnation of the Son, the Christ of God, the anointed of GOD, - through His manifested Person, Word and Work.

-----------

The Bible was not all composed at one time, between Moses and John there were about 1700 years, therefore revelation of God was progressive to do with the bringing together of all matters to do with the doctrine of God.

-------------

If we want to win the unbelieving to faith in God we first of all need to have a firm basis for what we believe ourselves.

There are various forms and phases of unbelief; there are the skeptical objections to the existence of a divine Being.

While the doctrine of God is one that's been pondered for ever I suppose, because there's always been skeptics.

One man points out that; -- The Atheist asserts there is no God. --- The Agnostic says he cannot tell whether there is a God or not. --- The Materialist say's that he does not need a God. ---- The Worldly Fool wishes there were no God. ---- But the Christian answers that he cannot do without God.

We thank and praise God for allowing us to get to know of Him and are convinced that He is real, we're looking forward to the day that with our own glorified eyes we shall behold Him.
