#2 ~ JESUS CHRIST~ BIBLE DOCTRINE 7-7-12

Last week we began a new study on Bible Doctrine, and we talked a little to do with the doctrine of "GOD", I realize that the doctrine of God could be practically inexhaustible, so I'm sure there was much more that could have been said on the subject.

Believing that there is a God and believing in Him is the first and foremost matter of importance in any ones life, if there is no God then nothing else in the Bible is of any importance, none of the other many Bible doctrines can stand if there is not a God. But rest assured, there is a God, there are not a number of gods, there is only ONE.

Isaiah 45: 5-22 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me:

22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else

There are many religions in the world and they claim to have another god, and that is their privilege, but if they want to go to God's heaven they must believe in the One True God.

Isaiah 44:8 Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

Today I want to talk a little to do with the "DOCTRINE OF JESUS CHRIST", let me say right off that we're still talking about God because as we'll see, Jesus is God the Son.

22 Listen carefully as I read Isaiah 45: 22 again,

Isaiah 45: 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else

We know that there is only One Savior, here in Isaiah 45: 22 Jehovah God say's

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: --- notice He said "all the ends of the earth." -- Jesus Christ is the Savoir of all man kind, "all ye ends of the earth."

23 Jesus said in;

John 5:39 -40 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. ----

John 6: 37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

------------------------

24 Jesus Is the One and the same God of the Old Testament, listen as I read these scriptures;

25 God is the Creator;

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

-----

Neh. 9: 6 Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

Isa. 42: 5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it--

-----

26 In the verses that we just read we're told that God was the Creator; Let me remind us that we're talking today about the Doctrine of JESUS CHRIST.

27 Jesus is the Creator, Jesus is God;

John 1:1--3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

----

Col 1:15-17 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

---------

Heb 1:10-12 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

Lets be sure and notice that we don't read here that THEY SHALL BE DONE AWAY WITH, it say's "they shall be changed."

This is a reference to the scripture in;

Revelation 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

----------------

28 God is the Savior;

Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

-----

Hos. 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

--------

29 Jesus is the Savior, Jesus is God;

Lk. 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

-----------

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

----------

Jude 24 -25 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

----------

30 God is King;

Ps. 10:16 The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

Ps. 96:10 Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.

-------------

31 Jesus is King;

Rev. 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

---------

32 God is the King of glory;

Ps. 24:10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

-------------

33 Jesus is the Lord of glory, Jesus is God.

1 Cor. 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

----------------------

34 God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords;

Deut. 10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: -- He can not be bought.

--------

Dan. 2:47 The king answered * (NEBUCHADNEZZAR) unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings,--

---------

35 Let me say again, I'm reading us all these different scriptures that we may have no doubt Who Jesus is, Jesus is GOD, remember we're talking about the "DOCTRINE OF JESUS CHRIST" today.

-------

36 Jesus is the Lord of lords and the King of kings;

Rev. 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings:

This is telling about the battle of Armageddon, it will be the most one sided battle there has ever been, and we that are saved will have a ring side seat, He simple speaks the WORD and their dead, their blood is splattered all over His garments, but not a drop on His Bride, He takes care of His Bride and nothing will or can touch her.

-------

Rev.19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

37 The garments of the saints are "clothed in fine linen, white and clean."

The fine linen is a reference to the "righteous deeds" of the saved.

15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations:

38 The armies of the world will be gathered there together for destruction.

-- and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. * 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

--------

39 Jehovah God is the Lord of life;

Deut 32: 39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

-------

Jer. 38:16 So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.

------------

40 Jesus is the Lord of life, because Jesus and Jehovah are One and the same, Jesus told the Jews in;

John 8: 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

41 God told Moses to tell His people in Egypt in;

Exodus 3: 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Jesus said to the Jews -- Before Abraham was, I am.

----

Again, Jesus is the Lord of life,--

John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

------

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:

------

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:

---------------

----

Isa. 48:12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

Both Jacob and Israel were failures, but He refers to them as "my called".

-----------

43 Jehovah God is the first and the last; and Jehovah and Jesus are One and the same, therefore,

44 Jesus is the first and the last

Rev. 1:17 -- And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

------

Rev. 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

---------

God also revealed Himself in temporary physical forms that men could understand called theophanies.

Examples are the burning bush, the fiery cloud in Exodus, and the unique incarnation of Christ.

22 God the Son humbled Himself and took on human form;

Philippians 2: 5-8 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

-----------

Biblical Christianity teaches there is one God eternally coexisting in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Bible teaches that there is only one true God, not three separate gods.

Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

God has revealed Himself in three coeternal and coequal persons of the same substance or essence, however, distinct in subsistence.

The Bible reveals that all three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--have the attributes of deity.

All three have existed for eternity, took part in creation, and play a role in salvation. The whole, undivided essence of God belongs equally to each of the three Persons of the God Head.
