Summary: The focus of this message is the core purpose of marriage.

THE GODLY SEED

Mal 2:11-16

Ruth 4:10-12

The focus of this message is the concept of the godly seed which is the core purpose why God instituted marriage. Everything that God intends to do, He starts with a seed. It is that seed that receives the engrafted word of God and produces the fruits that will cover the face of the earth. The ultimate plan of God is to fill the entire earth with the glory of God. Hab 2:14, Is 11:9.

The reason why God saved you and is keeping you alive is so that you will produce godly seed upon the earth that will succeed you here. That was why the first pronouncement that God made when he created man in Gen 1:28 was that he blessed man and said, be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it and have dominion. Then he placed man in the garden of Eden after he had formed him and breathed into his nostrils for him to dress it and to keep it. Verse 15. The word to dress came from the Hebrew word avad which means to work or to toil and to keep comes from the Hebrew word shamar which means to guard or to protect, or to watch over something. The idea is that God gave the duty to man to take charge of the garden in order for it to be productive. It is the principle of the seed. The garden of Eden was a seed of the kingdom of heaven which was to be replicated on the entire earth. It was also indicative of the truth that each person will be ceded a portion of the earth by God to take charge and to replicate heaven in.

The concept of marriage is therefore a prototype or indication of the process through which God intends for man to be able to effectively establish the kingdom of God here on earth. If you understand the mystery of marriage then you will understand the mystery of the church. I am sure that you are aware that the church is referred to as the bride of Christ. Rev 21:2 says John saw the holy city which represents the end time church coming down from heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Verse 9 says and there came one out of the seven angels which had the vials full of the last seven plagues and talked with me saying, come hither, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife. Verse 10 says and he carried me away in the spirit to a great high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God.

You will now begin to appreciate why God is very particular concerning marriages and why the devil attacks marriages and will everything to prevent you from getting married and from having a fruitful marriage. You will also begin to understand why so much is being done in these last days to compromise the institution of marriage because an appreciation of marriage is an understanding of the kingdom of God. There is so much power that resides in the place of matrimony that the devil cannot contend with. Anything that you do which erodes the basic ingredients of matrimony has immediate repercussions.

So, as soon as man was given his territory, the next thing that God did was to institute marriage as a process for entering into the fullness of the will of God. The first place that Jesus performed a miracle was the marriage feast of Cana. When it was time for God to bring forth the Christ he chose the set up of a new marriage. He was not the biological son of either Mary or Joseph but God still used them as a channel to bring forth the godly seed. Even in an imperfect arrangement, God stepped in and turned things around to do the most powerful thing ever. And it is the resurrection of Christ that we are celebrating today. This illustrates the immense capacity and possibilities that can arise from a godly seed. Ps 127:3 Lo children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man, so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them. They shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gates.

The desire of every believer is that he or she must ensure that he raises godly children. Even though marriage constitutes the best platform to achieve this the proof of maturity as a believer is to ensure that you are raising godly seeds. Your job is to invest the goodness of God in their lives and to ensure that they are brought up in accordance to God's nurture and admonition so that they will stand for the kingdom at all times.

Ps 128 tells us that blessed is everyone that fears the Lord, that walks in his ways.

2 For thou shalt eat the labor of thine hands. Happy shalt thou be, for it shall be well with thee.

3 Thy wife shall be like a vine by the side of your house, and your children like olive plants round about your table.

Verse 6 says you shall see thy children's children and peace upon Israel.

You child will always be more intense than you or is a better version of yourself. These days children are much smarter and brighter than in our days. That is why what you invest in that child is very critical. Pay the price to raise him in accordance with the word of God by showing the right examples. Eph 6:4 says that fathers should not provoke their children to wrath, but must bring them up in accordance to God's nurture and admonition. I often tell parents that they should give children enough room to express themselves, but they should always draw lines and place certain key restrictions depending on age. If you fail to flog your child when he is a toddler because you do not want him to cry, when he grows up you will find it difficult to instruct him.

Prov 22:6 train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Prov 13:24 He that spares his rod hates his son, but he that loves him chastens him quickly.

Prov 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

Prov 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Prov 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child, for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

Prov 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.

Verse 17 says correct thy son and he shall give thee rest, yea he shall give delight unto thy soul.

There is the age when it will be too late to cane a child. But you must pay the price and ask God for the wisdom to raise your child properly. There are times you will be at your wits end because of your children, and you must seek the wisdom and direction of God. What the child will accomplish for the kingdom and the leverage that it will give the kingdom of God shall be far reaching. When the proper values are invested in our children, they will become pillars of righteousness in the society. They will become agents of change in any place that they are. We need believers that will stand by what they believe in. Most of us were raised in pagan homes or at best our parents were unserious Christians. That is why our Christian experience can be a struggle sometimes due to our previous experiences. But when we who are believers now raise godly children on fire for God, the result will be explosive. That is why we must do it right.

So, Boaz was a type of Christ, the kinsman redeemer, that came to pay the price for the debt of a dead relative, so that his inheritance will not be cut off from among his brethren. That is the reason for the cross. Then they prayed a prayer that day, the Lord will make this woman that is come into your house to be like Rachel and Leah which two did build the house of Israel, and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous I Bethlehem. Or to get thee riches or power in Ephratah, and proclaim thy name in Bethlehem.

Verse 12 says and let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the Lord shall give thee of this young woman. What this means is that by this woman you will have godly seeds of far reaching potentials and achievements.
