Summary: This sermon deals with us always doing our best.

We have gathered today to discuss the importance in doing our best. Ever since we were in school we have been instructed to do our best. When we go to work our job expects for us to do our best as well. No matter what we may try to do in life, we are always expected to do our very best. God even expects us to do our best, when it comes to doing his work as well.

Colossians 3:23-24 instructs us to do our best in all that we do. It is within these verses that we find these words: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

If God did not want us to do our best he would not have instructed us to do our best. God knows what are best really is, while man can only guess what our very best is. If we can give the world our best, we should be able to give God our best too. When we give God our best then that is when he is pleased with us the best.

God can get us to the point that we are only striving for the best. We must be able to pray to God and ask him for direction. The next thing we have to do is be able to have patience for the Lord to give us the directions to guiding us to the very best that we can become. Finally we must be willing to listen and obey the things that God tells us to do to reach our very best.

The way that we know that we are giving God our best is by doing whatever God wants us to do with all of our heart. When we do things with all of our heart we only want it to be the best and nothing less. We will take our time to complete a certian task instead of just putting things together.

AND ALL OF GODS CHILDREN SAID AMEN!
