INTRODUCTION

Psalm 51 is a manual or model to follow for recognizing the multiple mercies of God through His forgiveness. David in flesh lived and experiment that nobody can escape the judgment of God trying to hide his own sin. So we recall that God has prepared a Nathan for each receiver in different times.

I. THE REPENTANCE

a) Recognized to have sinned against God: Twelve times in this chapter he mentions to have sinned against God. He recognizes that God is a holy and pure; AND that does not accept sin in its anointed or hidden abominations. It is sad when there are people that justify themselves before allowing God to justify them or reproach them.

II. HOW DID DAVID UNDERSTAND HIS SIN?

a) David after being rebuked: recognized that his sin was not a simple error, but was more serious than he considered, and therefore needed urgently the mercy of God through his sincere repentance.

b) ¿How I am humiliated David? : He said; “erase my rebellions" and also he said "wash me from my wickedness" and I confirm "Because I recognize my rebellions; AND my sin is always in front of me". His sincerity helped him to obtain the attention of God.

III. CREATE IN ME, OH GOD, A CLEAN HEART

a) Where does change come from? The change of a consistent Christian life is in a radical and internal change. Of course the Bible teaches us that God provides it; "AND I will give you new heart, and I will renew a right spirit in you; (Eze 36:26).

b) Humble Attitude: They did not beg David to repent, the prophet Nathan only caused him to see his real situation but at no time did he advise him to humiliate himself; this was born from himself alone.

IV. THE EVIL BUSINESS OF HIDING SIN

a) According to the Bible: For more than 6 thousand years humanity has tried to hide their sin but have failed.

1. Adam and Eva failed to hide their shame by disobeying to God.

2. Ananias and Sapphira lied to the apostle Peter but not to the Holy Spirit.

CONCLUSION

Repentance has not been somewhat common in humanity. Even in repentance we can say without doubt that God takes mercy on us and puts in us that beautiful feeling to humble ourselves.
