Sing Unto the Lord a New Song

Psalms 89:1 – Psalms 95:1/2

There was a time on earth, when in the book of heaven. An old account was standing for sins yet unforgiven. My name was at the top and many things below; So, I went up to the keeper and settled it long ago.

My heart was distressed beneath Jehovah’s dread frown, and low in the pit where my sins dragged me down. I cried to the Lord from the deep miry clay, He tenderly brought me out to golden day. He brought me out of the miry clay.

For I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained with sin sinking to rise no more. But the master of the sea heard my despairing cry, and from the waters lifted me, now safe am I. For it was God’s love that lifted me, His love lifted me; when nothing else could help love lifted me.

There are days I’d like to be all alone with Christ my Lord, I can tell Him of my troubles all alone. For I know I’m a child of the King, the child of a King. With Jesus as my Savior, I’m a child of the King. You see, He was nailed to the cross for me, He was nailed to the cross for me; on the cross crucified in great sorrow He died, He was nailed to the cross for me.

Those nails that held him to the cross created a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel’s veins; and sinners plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains. Would you be free from your burden of sin? There is power in the blood, power in the blood. For without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Do you fully trust in His grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? For His blood reaches to the highest mountain and flows to the lowest valley. It’s

His blood that gives me strength from day to day, it will never, never lose its power. There is power; power wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb.

Are you living in the shadow of the cross, where the Savior took your place? By the cross He’ll lead us to that home above; there we’ll see Him face to face. As we journey on toward heaven’s shining goal, we may suffer pain and lose; burdens only bring us blessings if we live in the shadow of the cross.

At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light and the burdens of the heart rolled away. It was there by faith I received my sight and now I am happy all the day. Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now I’m found was blind but now I see.

O how sweet to trust I Jesus, just to take Him at His word; just to rest upon His promise; just to know, “Thus says the Lord.” Jesus is the sweetest name I know, and he’s just the same as His lovely name. There is a name I love to hear, I love to sing His praises. Like His name is wonderful, there’s just something about that name or Jesus name above all names.

Hallelujah what a thought! Jesus full salvation brought, victory, victory. Let the powers of sin assail, Heaven’s grace can never fail, victory, O victory in Jesus my Savior forever, He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood.

He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due him. He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood. Those are beautiful words, wonderful words wonderful words of Life. Sing them over again to me, Wonderful words of Life.

When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say. “It is well; it is well with my soul. So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown.

Now you may ask. Does Jesus care? O yes He cares; I know He cares; His heart is touched with my grief. When the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares. Does Jesus care when my heart is pained, too deeply for mirth and song; as the burdens press, and the cares distress, and the way grows weary and long. He cares, O yes He cares.

I know you care. But Master the tempest is raging! The billows are tossing high! The sky is o’er shadowed with blackness, no shelter or help is nigh.” Then to hear Him say, “Peace, be still! Peace, be still! The winds, the waves, and the storms of life, they all shall sweetly obey thy will, Peace, peace be still!

What a treasure I have in His wonderful peace, buried deep in the heart of my soul; so secure that no power can mine it away, while the years of eternity roll. Peace! Peace! Wonderful peace, coming down from the Father above; sweep over my spirit forever I pray, in fathomless billows of love.

This old world is a rocking, reeling and a rocking, how it keeps on standing I don’t know. Lift up your voice and shout, Gabriel, take up your horn and blow. Gabriel’s standing ready, standing with his trumpet. How soon he will sound it, I don’t.

But when the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more, and the morning breaks eternal bright and fair. When His chosen ones shall gather over on the other shore, and the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

We’ll be caught up to meet Him in the air; we’ll be caught up His blessedness to share. Very soon he will come to take His people home, and we’ll be caught up to meet Him in the air.

For I’ve anchored my soul in the haven of rest I’ll sail the wide sea no more. The tempest may sweep, ore the wild stormy deep but in Jesus I’m safe every more. I’ve anchored in Jesus, the storms of life I’ll brave, I’ve anchored in Jesus, I fear no wind or wave, I’ve anchored in Jesus for He hath power to save. I’ve anchored to the Rock of Ages.

This world is not my home; I’m just a passing through. My treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue. They’re all expecting me, and this one thing I know. My Savior pardoned me, and now I onward go. I am going to that city, pearly white city, the City that John saw coming down from God out of heaven adorned as a bride. And the saint of all the ages will be singing praises like they’ve never sung before.

You see, we’ll sing a new song, over in glory. A song the angels cannot sing. So watch you therefore, you know no not what the day, When the Lord shall call your soul away. If you’re striving fighting for the right, you shall wear a robe and crown.

What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see, when I look upon His face the one who saved me by His grace, what a day glorious day that will be. He’s coming soon, He’s coming soon. With joy we’ll welcome His returning. It may be morn; it may be night or noon we know He’s coming soon.

I’ve wandered far away from God, now I’m coming home; the paths of sin too long I’ve trod, Lord I’m coming home. Coming home, coming home, never more to roam. Open wide Thine arms of love, Lord, I’m coming home.
