You hear a lot these days about the right to bear arms, the right to have a weapon (I am all for that!)
I wonder if God doesn’t wish we were as passionate about this weapon (Holding up the Bible) as we are about guns!
Gun might protect from robber. But it won’t protect you from the devil!
Gun might feed your family, but it won’t feed your soul!
Hebrews 4:12-For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
If you want to take over a nation or a kingdom, you unarm the citizens of that nation or kingdom.
We are a part of God’s kingdom, we are citizens of that kingdom and I am afraid that our enemy has unarmed us, or rather we have unarmed ourselves.
I am afraid that we are not many years from having this weapon banned!
We need this weapon, if we are going to advance the kingdom of God, if we are going to gain new ground or a lest hold our ground!
We don’t need to retreat or surrender or lay down our sword!!!
Jesus said, “It is written!”
He didn’t quote some philosophy, or Shakespeare sonnet, He said, “It is written!”
Any time I need to know what God has promised me…It is written!
Anytime I am down and need to be lifted up…It is written!
Anytime I am feeling hopeless and I need hope…It is written!
Anytime I need to know someone loves me…It is written!
Anytime I need to know what direction I need to go…It is written!
WONDERING IF I’M SAVED…It Is Written-Romans 10:9-that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
Romans 10:13-For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
IF I GOT A NEED…It Is Written-Philippians 4:19-And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 4:16-Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
IF I HAVE SIN IN MY LIFE…It Is Written-1 John 1:9-If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
IF I NEED PROTECTION…It Is Written-Isaiah 54:17-No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
IF I NEED PEACE…It Is Written-Isaiah 26-3-You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
John 14:27-Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid
IF I AM AFRAID…It Is Written-Psalm 34:4-I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
IF I NEED REST…It Is Written-Matthew 11:28-30-Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light
This is my Bible—there are many like it, but this one is mine.
I am what it says I am, this is God's word to mankind and to me.
God's word is truth; it lights my way by teaching and guiding me.
God's word is alive and active; it judges my thoughts and attitudes.
God's word builds me up and teaches me about my inheritance.
By receiving it, understanding it, and putting it into practice,
I become productive in His kingdom.
I receive God's word by reading it, hearing it, studying it,
memorizing it, and meditating on it.
I must study it carefully in order to interpret it correctly.
Without my cooperation, God's word in my life is useless.
Without God's word I am useless.
God's word lives in me richly; in my mouth it becomes the
sword of the Holy Spirit, with it I can overcome the devil!
Today I will be taught the word of God. My mind is alert.
My heart is receptive.
I am about to receive the incorruptible,
everlasting Word of the living GOD!!!
