Summary: His yoke is easy, His burden is light. For to long, too many people have made it out to be, that serving God, is a burden. Serving God is anything but that, its an adventure, a great adventure, serving God is the time of your life, if you will let it be.

Serving God, "The Great Adventure"

You know, it seems like unrest is the thing that we see the most, in the world today.

I mean, either someone is trying to blow up someone, inflict their views on someone,

or threatening to shoot their missiles and cause havoc around the world,

And all the leaders around the world, act like they know what their doing,

But all the commentators on the news shows think differently and have different opinions as to why their ideas could affect a better outcome for all.

And really the only thing that is for sure at the end of each day, is complete chaos, day after day.

Do you remember watching Maxwell Smart when you were a kid?

Agent 86, he worked for control and battled chaos on a daily basis, you know good verses evil.

while it was only a TV show, we can be thankful today, with all the chaos in the world, that God is and will always be in control. Amen?

It makes you wonder, How and Why would anyone, want to go through life without Him?

Matt. 11:25-30 MSG.

25-26. Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer: “Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth. You’ve concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people. Yes, Father, that’s the way you like to work.”

(TBS. the last shall be first and the meek will inherit the earth, so if you don’t feel worthy of everything God has for you this morning, the good news is, you are right where you need to be to receive it)Amen?

27. Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly. “The Father has given me all these things to do and say. This is a unique Father-Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge. No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does. But I’m not keeping it to myself; I’m ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen.

(TBS. to him who has ears, let him hear, this is one of those verses we should be proclaiming, “I have ears, I’m listening Lord, oh oh, tell me!”)

and Jesus goes on to say,

28-30. “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn to enjoy the unforced rhythms of grace . I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Chaos, is mans attempt to do everything without God,

That was quite an idea the accuser got going so long ago, That life would be harder with God, than without Him!

Serving God, through a relationship with His Son Jesus is not hard, it’s only assumed hard.

His yoke is easy, His burden is light.

For to long, too many people have made it out to be, that serving God, that it is a burden.

Serving God is anything but that, its an adventure, serving God is the time of your life, if you will let it be.

But you have to walk in His fullness, be willing to let Him do what He does best and that would be everything!

He has provided, perfect provisions for every day, every step of the way.

So many don’t realize that to be a reality in their lives.

They have made life hard, so therefore they think serving God is a hard!

I mean think about it, would you rather try to keep the 10 commandments, which is impossible to do,

Or enjoy the unforced rhythms of grace, unmerited favor and forgiveness that Jesus offers, to anyone who will listen?

Serving God is easy, trying to make Him do it your way, on your terms is what makes it hard. Rpt.

When the children of God were facing Goliath, they spent days trying to figure out a way to defeat him, but to no avail,

fortunately for them, there was one who wondered into camp,

Said what in the world are you doing, saw the situation and said, yes Lord I will listen.

You see, with God its kind of like pushing the easy button,

When you trust Him with the outcome and its all over, you may say to yourself,

“I never would have thought of doing it that way and at the same time thinking how incredibly easy it was, once you let God do what He does best,”

“EVERYTHING!” that’s what God does best?

Now if you’ve never experienced that way of life, which is the way God has had planned all along.

The good news is, you can, why not start today?

In our Christian walk, its time to “Step out in the water, wade in a little bit deeper”

There is so much more everyone of us could be experiencing from our relationship,

We claim to have with the most influential man that ever walked the face of the earth!

Have faith enough to Seek the blessings that He willingly gave His life for, to make them available to whoever is willing to receive them!

Ill. It’s like the ocean, their are small waves right on the shore line, you can see and look at.

But when you step out and trust God, the waves or blessings get bigger and will move you and even knock you down,

And when you wade out a little bit farther out, you can get on top of your blessing or wave, you can ride it like a surfer rides a big wave!

You might be thinking, well if you could do that, you know that’s just one wave right?

That’s true and in surfing, you can only ride one at a time, but there’s always going to be another wave

And Gods blessings are the same way!

The more you learn to trust Him, the bigger waves of blessing He makes available for you, one right after another!

Can you say Tsunami?

Have you seen on the net, where just a few years ago, it was never thought possible for 100 foot waves to be ridden, but they have been ridden.

God has blessings out there for you that are bigger than you might think are possible, Praise God!!

You may not be experiencing them, but that doesn’t change the fact that there still there to enjoy and be experienced!

Jesus conquered death, rose from the grave, don’t you think its about time, we let Him lead the way,

He already took care of every provision, paid the debt and has made it available for all who will believe.

He has made it abundantly available, the unforced rhythms of grace, but few are willing to make them first place in their life.

TBS. seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you!

*Do you believe it this morning?

*Are you willing to receive it?

*Are you willing to seek the Lord, no matter what, until He gives it to you?

2 Kings 2:1,2,4,6-14 NKJ

1. And it came to pass, when the Lord was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

2. Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.”

But Elisha said, “As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.

4. Then Elijah said to him, “Elisha, stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Jericho.”

But he said, “As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they came to Jericho.

6. Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to the Jordan.”

But he said, “As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So the two of them went on.

7. And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood facing them at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.

8. Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.

9. And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”

Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”

10. So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”

11. Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

12. And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.

13. He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.

14. Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.

Elisha, had seen Elijah do some extraordinary miracles, he also knew there were extraordinary things yet to be done, that needed to be done.

He asked, he received, with Gods help, he did them!

Praise God!

It’s the same way with us, throughout the bible, we have read of and seen Jesus do miracle after amazing miracle!

And because of what He has done for us on the cross, He has made us joint heirs with Him and what He has available to Him, available to us!

Praise God!!

and the only thing we have to do to receive it, is believe that He did it!

John 14:11-14 MSG.

11-14. “Believe me: I am in my Father and my Father is in me. If you can’t believe that, believe what you see—these works. The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it. From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I’ll do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I’ll do.

There are so many things, that God longs to do through you and for you!

Yes I’m talking to you folks right here in this room, we haven’t even scratched the surface of the possibilities,

That God has in store, in our lives and in our church,

We like Elisha, need to start praying for a double portion of His anointing, on everything that we do, in our lives and our church!

TBS. the anointing breaks the yoke,

actually in Isaiah 10:27 NKJ.

It shall come to pass in that day

That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder,

And his yoke from your neck,

And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

The anointing doesn’t just break the yoke, it destroys it. Praise God!

Lord give me your anointing, Lord give me a double portion of it! Hallelujah!!

Will there still be problems when He does, yes but the accuser doesn’t stand a chance against the anointing of the Lord!

When problems and troubles come your way, just say Lord these are for you and He will take care of them.

Learn to cast the cares of things that you have in your life, onto Jesus.

Do you still have to face them, yes, And Jesus is the one who will take care of them, but you still have to give them over to Him and let go of them!

TBS. cast all your cares on Him

Let your words proclaim it, let your ears receive it and the grace of God in your heart believe it! And expect it to happen! Amen?

Faith is the connector to Gods Blessings, but He responds to our needs because He loves us. Praise God from who all blessings flow!!

That’s why the unmerited grace, favor and His marvelous anointing flows in our lives, because He loves us.

The moment Jesus arose from the grave and obtained victory over death, grace and favor started flowing and became available,

The moment you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, it became available to you in your life, in an unending abundance, just like Niagara Falls.

We need to start doing what god has promised we can do, its time we arose to our calling.

You may not think you have a calling, but if your born again, you have been called to share the gospel, till the whole world knows!

The same thing He told Peter and the others, still holds true today!

Matt. 4:18 NKJ

18. And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

If we’re going to heaven, let’s become fishers of men,

let’s take all the people we can with us,

lets help all the hurting people we can,

let’s help God heal all we can,

let’s help Jesus set all we can free,

lets be all we can be for Christ before its to late.

If your saved, people ought to know it

If were not focused on the things of heaven and building Gods Kingdom, then why are we coming to church for today?

There’s a spiritual 911 being sounded around the world today,

And the help that needs to respond to the call is the church, with the Life Changing, Grace Giving Message of Jesus!

Tell someone about Jesus and the unending forgiveness and sweet Rest that can only be found in a relationship with Him.

Amen?

Change someone’s life this week, become a first responder for the Kingdom of God,

Lets Pray!
