Summary: We need to let (Point at Chest) this clay jar, this outer shell. this fleshly nature. our will to be broken. And when you do your life will be filled to overflowing with the sweet perfume of the Holy Spirit.

Are you waiting on God...? Or is God .... waiting on you?

We have all heard Christians say: .... I'm just waiting on God ... I'm just waiting ... for my breakthrough.

And Others...I don't know what God wants me to do.

I haven't heard anything from him.... for the last six years.

Well ... did you do what God asked you to do .... six years ago? (Pause)

Beloved .... The gift of the Holy Spirit is an anointing ...... An anointing ... so that we may experience God's presence continually ... in our lives.

It is important, .... It is imperative .... to have the anointing of God.... the presence of God ....in your life. (Pause)

Now...The word "anoint" means ... to smear ...... or to rub something...... all over ... an object... to cover the object completely.

And when we are anointed with the Holy Spirit; ... We are covered ... we are rubbed .... we are smeared all over .... with God's presence.

And when you are anointed with the Holy Spirit, .... there will be something about you ... that is noticeably different.

And the more you yield to that anointing .... the more others notice ...... the difference.

Yet most non followers of the Christ .... if any at all .... will not know .... what it is.

They do not understand ... or cannot understand ... what caused the change.

They cannot put their finger on it.

Why...? Why the change? ...

The Scriptures assure us ... that when you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior .... that you are .... a new creation ... a new creation ... in Christ Jesus.

(Slow) .... The old is gone.

So, .... What happens when you are anointed ... with the Holy Spirit?

Well.... You begin to see radical favor in your life.

God will open doors for you .... Doors .... that you could not possibly open .... on your own.

Now .... In one way .... the anointing is a free gift of God that you receive ... in His grace ....... In His mercy.

But on the other hand .... there is a price to pay ... for that anointing.

John's first epistle helps us to see this more clearly.

Hear God's Word. BIBLE " You have been anointed by the Holy One, ... and All of you have knowledge." END (1 John 2:20)

It does not say that someday you will be anointed .... Someday ... if you try real hard .... it says ......you "have been" anointed.

You have been given unction ... from the Holy One.

And ... all of you ... have received knowledge.

You know the truth.

The Scriptures state...... "you know all things."

Let's look a little further in the Chapter .... at verse 27: BIBLE "But as for you, the anointing .... the sacred appointment .... the unction which you received from him .... abides .... permanently in you." END (1 John 2:27 AMPC)

The Holy Spirit is in you. ...... If you been born again.

God's presence ... is in, you.

And he abides in you .... How long? ... Permanently. ...... And .... He will not leave you.... Or forsake you.

We are a new creation ... in Christ Jesus.

You are led by the promptings, ... by the gentle promptings & urges .... by the leadership .... of the Holy Spirit.

You are led by the anointing ... that lies within you.

And ... with this anointing ...You will experience peace.

A peace that passes all understanding.

And...with the anointing .... you will know joy.

And when you yield to the anointing ... when you yield to the Holy Spirit:

You will receive the urging from the Spirit ... to do the right thing ... to do .... the wise thing.

You will begin to make choices that are no longer being led by your feelings .... That will no longer be led by ... your emotions.

You will not do ... the emotional thing.

You will do.... (Slow) .... the wise thing. (Pause)

So if it is a gift .... how can I say ... that there is a price to pay ... for this anointing?

The scriptures tell us in both John's and Mark's Gospel ... that Jesus came to the town of Bethany, ....... to the Home of Lazarus ... whom he raised from the dead.

There Mary came to Jesus with the alabaster jar.

Now this jar is filled with nard .... an extremely expensive ... sweet perfume?

Worth 300 Denarii ... the yearly income of most families at that time.

So...What did she do?

Mark tells us ... that she ... Mary .... broke open the jar.

She broke the jar .... and then ... the sweet perfume... poured out.

The jar had to be broken .... She ... Mary ...had to break open ... the clay jar.

Why? .... So that the oil ... would be released.

The Holy Spirit that is in us, is calling us (Point to chest) to let this clay jar... be broken.

And when this jar of clay is broken ............... the gifts that God has placed in us ... will be poured out.

Beloved .... We must be broken.

The Scriptures are clear:

"Our sacrifice is to have a broken and contrite heart." (Psalm 51:17)

The flesh must be broken .... We must allow the things of the flesh ... to be broken.

We must allow rebellion to be broken .... stubbornness to be broken.... pride to be Broken.

Please hear me on this.

Whatever is in us, .... whatever is in me .... that is of God .... will not come forth ... until ... this jar is broken.

And when this jar of clay is broken ... the sweet perfume of the Holy Spirit .... will flow freely ... from our very being.

We need to let the Holy Spirit impact ... all of who we are.

Impact our mind .... Impact our will .... Impact our emotions.

Beloved ... We do not have a spirit problem if we are born again. ...... (Slow) We have a Soul problem.

It is what the apostle Paul called .... walking in the flesh .... to have a carnal mind (Romans 8:5-9).

And a carnal Christian is one ... who follows...... animal impulses.

You follow.... emotional .... fleshly impulses.

You follow your ... own thoughts.

You follow (Slow) your own will...your own feelings.

I feel like doing this...

I feel like eating that....

Acting on emotions ... on feelings.

Beloved.... We do not need to be like that.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit ... through the anointing ... Take charge of your emotions ... take charge of your feelings.

We have the anointing ...... and we need to learn to walk daily ... in that anointing. (Pause)

Saul ... had to be anointed ... before he could be King.

The Scriptures state that when the Spirit of God came upon Saul... he was turned into ......another man.

You will know very clearly .... when the Spirit of God comes upon you.

For you will be turned into something that will absolutely shock and amaze ......not only everyone around you, .... but it will also amaze ... you.

If the word "anoint" sounds too spiritual for you ... it simply means to enable. ..... It means to equip.

It is a gifting ... that comes to you ...... to enable you .... to do something ... something that you (Slow) would not do ... naturally.

It is such ... a beautiful gift.

If we will only break open (Point to Chest) this jar of clay. (Pause)

And Beloved .... we are not just anointed ... for spiritual things.

We need an anointing for .... everything ... that we do in life.

You better cry out to God for an anointing .... to be a parent... or grandparent.

You better cry out to God for an anointing .... to be a husband ... or to be a wife.

You better cry out to God for an anointing ....in your work... in your business.

God anoints people for business, .... God anoints people for organization, .... God anoints people for helps.

We are all part of the Body of Christ.

And the Holy Spirit anoints us ... equips us ... to function in the body. (Pause)

Beloved .... (Slow) you must have the anointing .... ... In order to walk in .... God's will. (REPEAT)

We need to break these jars of clay ... these fleshly jars .... and let the sweet perfume of the Holy Spirit .... freely flow ... from our very being. (Pause)

You know how it feels ... when someone hurts you, ... when someone is talking about you, .... when someone does not treat you right.

You feel a need ... you feel an impulse...to give them .... what they just ... gave you. (Pause)

Beloved .... Break the jar of your emotions .... Break the jar of your feelings ... and let the sweet perfume of heaven ... flow from you.

Listen to the guidance ... of the Holy Spirit.

Respond as one .... mature in the faith.

Treat those around you ... as the Scriptures command us to treat them.

You might say .... Well that's hard.

No Beloved .... that's ... obedience.

It may seem hard ...... but it is ultimately ... a struggle with ... obedience.

Be obedient... Be mature ... in the Faith.

Break open .... the alabaster jar of clay.

We are not earning God's anointing with our obedience.... (Slow) It is a gift.

That powers in us, .... is released ... not ... by us .... but ... through us.

(Slow) It is released .... As God sees ... that we are mature enough .... to walk in it ...... to handle it.

What do I mean by that? (Pause)

If you see a fruit tree ... that is heavy with fruit.

That tree, ... even if it is laden with fruit, .... if it does not have deep roots ... at the first storm .... or even with a strong wind .... will be uprooted ... and be blown over.

But if it is deeply rooted ... than it will withstand ... any adversity.

We too...must have strong roots... deep roots.

And ....one way that we can be deeply rooted .... is to be deeply rooted .... in his Word.

And to also be deeply rooted ... in prayer.

We must take time to hear His voice .... And to take his commandments ... to heart.

And with the help of the Holy Spirit ....do what God has asked us to do .... (Pick up the Bible) ... in his Holy Word.

The Holy Spirit is always willing .... The Holy Spirit is always ready.

(Slow) But if we are honest .... we are not always ready or willing ... to surrender our will .... (Point up) ... to His.

God wants us to break open .... (Point at Chest) this jar of clay.

God wants us to surrender our will .......to His will.

To move into a mature faith ... (Slow).... To: "Not my will...but thy will be done".

Spiritual maturity comes with steps of obedience.

The alabaster jar of clay needs to be broken .... for the sweet perfume .... to be poured out.

We need to let (Point at Chest) this clay jar .... this outer shell .... this fleshly nature ...our will ....to be broken.

There are wonderful gifts that lay inside of each of you .... put within each of you ... by God.

They are nothing that you have earned ... they are a gift ... that lies within you.

(Slow Down) And if you will let God have his way in your life; .... you will see each and every one of those gifts.... flow out of you.

(Slow) And when you do Beloved.... your life will be filled to overflowing .... with the sweet perfume ... of the anointing power ... of the Holy Spirit.

Amen & Amen!
