Summary: In all of our ups and downs as a Christian, we should look to the Lord

WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON? Exodus 32:26

a. FEELING ON THE DOWNSIDE – Spiritually deflated – (John the Baptist – “Art thou the Christ or should we look for another”))

FEELING ON THE UPSIDE – Riding High and maybe not realizing what may be ahead – (Peter – “Lord, I will never deny you”)

b. SITTING ON THE INSIDE – Been going to church your whole life and yet have become stagnant (David – “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation”)

STANDING ON THE OUTSIDE – Don’t feel like you fit in – Your lack of faith keeps you from being like ________ (Mary Magdalene – John 20:11)

c. LOOKING AT THE DARK SIDE – Pessimist – Widow woman in 1 Kings

LOOKING AT THE BRIGHT SIDE – Optimist - – Lot may have went down to Sodom with good intentions (Genesis 13:10) but he came out a backslider (One drink leads to two,…)

d. HEADING DOWN THE WRONG SIDE – Jonah and the ship and the whale and the worm

HEADING UP THE RIGHT SIDE – Naomi and Elimelech heading to Moab because of the famine

BUT MOSES DIDN’T ASK ANY OF THAT…HE ASKED WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE

On the Lord’s side you will look to God in all these situations or before you get into them. There is a place to look to the Lord before, during and after every event in our life.

We too often only “get on the Lord’s side” when we get into a situation.

Trusting God means just that…that we trust Him at all times. Wherever we are there God is. Psalms 139:3-13

Habakkuk 3:17-18 GOD HAS BEEN GOOD
