G. Key verses:

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 (Amplified Bible)

And may the Lord make you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another and for all people, just as we also do for you,

So that He may strengthen and confirm and establish your hearts faultlessly pure and unblamable in holiness in the sight of our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) with all His saints (the holy and glorified people of God)! Amen, (so be it)!

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (Amplified Bible)

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first.

Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!

Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Live by the souls of men - We really live

"Because now we [really] live,"

1. Really live means "to live" (as verb), life, quick.

Usage in the Bible:

a. We are living sacrifice, to really live, is to be holy, well pleasing to GOD, which is the only reasonable life service and spiritual worship we can give to GOD.

Romans 12:1 (Amplified Bible)

I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

b. Real living is dedicated to only 1 GOD, you can't live at the same time under the Law and for GOD. You only choose to live to only one god.

Galatians 2:19 (Amplified Bible)

For I through the Law [under the operation of the curse of the Law] have [in Christ’s death for me] myself died to the Law and all the Law’s demands upon me, so that I may [henceforth] live to and for God.

Life in the Bible:

John 17:3 (Amplified Bible)

And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.

Real living on this earth is close relationship and revelational or experiental knowledge of GOD and of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

We need to be active in winning souls for GOD's Kingdom.

Romans 10:1 (Amplified Bible)

BRETHREN, [with all] my heart’s desire and goodwill for [Israel], I long and pray to God that they may be saved.

Paul's so-called technique is "he became all things to all men". The Message Bible puts it like "I've become just about every sort of servant there is" and the Living Bible puts it this way "I try to find common ground with him"

1 Corinthians 9:22 (Amplified Bible)

To the weak (wanting in discernment) I have become weak (wanting in discernment) that I might win the weak and overscrupulous. I have [in short] become all things to all men, that I might by all means (at all costs and in any and every way) save some [by winning them to faith in Jesus Christ].

1 Corinthians 9:22 (The Message)

the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn't take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I've become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life.

1 Corinthians 9:22 (The Living Bible)

When I am with those whose consciences bother them easily, I don’t act as though I know it all and don’t say they are foolish; the result is that they are willing to let me help them. Yes, whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so that he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him.

To share the gospel and to win some, is to become like your recipient or hearer. Don't elevate yourself from them, make sure you're like one of them. For example, when I share the gospel, I always use the phrase, "we sinners..." finding the common denominator makes your hearer open up themselves to you instead of avoiding you.

B. Be steadfast - Since these souls are standing firm in the Word

"if you stand [firm] in the Lord."

1. Stand fast - meaning "to be stationary", "to persevere"

Steadfast in the Webster dictionary means "to be constant, uniform, consistent" Consistency in the CHRISTian life can be seen in consistency in attendance on services, fellowships and other spiritual meetings such as the Prayer Meeting and the Believer's Meeting and to specialized meetings for men, women, youth and children. You can't accept from the LORD more strength, perfection and firm foundation without you FIRST being consistent in your attendances to these meetings that applies to you. Simply the idea of when you fall, you simply stand up quick on your two feet.

Proverbs 24:16 (Amplified Bible)

For a righteous man falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.

Micah 7:8 (Amplified Bible)

Rejoice not against me, O my enemy! When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light to me.

Psalms 34:19 (Amplified Bible)

Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Exhortations to be steadfast:

Galatians 5:1 (Amplified Bible)

IN [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].

Philippians 1:27 (Amplified Bible)

Only be sure as citizens so to conduct yourselves [that] your manner of life [will be] worthy of the good news (the Gospel) of Christ, so that whether I [do] come and see you or am absent, I may hear this of you: that you are standing firm in united spirit and purpose, striving side by side and contending with a single mind for the faith of the glad tidings (the Gospel).

You may pray about it when you're not consistent...

Psalms 51:10 (Amplified Bible)

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me.

Psalms 57:7 (Amplified Bible)

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident! I will sing and make melody.

It's our part to be consistent...

Isaiah 26:3 (Amplified Bible)

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.

Being consistent is we stay with GOD, commits ourselves to Him, leans on GOD, and hopes confidently on GOD.

1 Peter 5:10 (Amplified Bible)

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Being consistent is we stay with GOD, commits ourselves to Him, leans on GOD, and hopes confidently on GOD.
