Summary: When you are connected to good, godly people, they keep you connected to God. Do you have good connections?

Do you have good connections?

2 Chronicles 26:5” Uzziah sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.”

Uzziah had a good guardian Zechariah who got him connected to God, as long as king Uzziah sought the Lord he prospered. When you are connected to good, godly people, they keep you connected to God. Do you have good connections? There are many out there connected to dead spirits, evil links and wrong relationships; walk out of them please.

The Bible says in Proverbs 15:22 “Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.”

Today we have:

• Hundreds of churches spread in many cities

• Gospel television and radio shows are aired twenty four hours a day.

• I should say we have an overflow of Christian literature

• Get into the Christian bookshops and you would find plethora of praise tapes and teaching materials available in heaps.

• Internet is flooded with Christian sermons and devotions that reach your very inbox everyday.

All the above is very good alright, but still there is barrenness, hollowness and emptiness among the Christians! Why? Because of dearth of good leaders! Anybody listening? We got to hear the voice of God through the heaps of Christian stuff we make use of! I know of a young Christian girl who came to me for advice regarding her marriage, she was dating a hindu boy and wanted to know the will of God. I happened to visit her home and I found her room filled with Christian books, tapes and literature; but alas, she had a wrong connection! Despite, severe warnings by me and other leaders, she went ahead and married the hindu boy and lives a dual life now. 1 Timothy 6:14 says “you keep this commandment without spot…” When Uzziah became king, he was just 16 years old but with a good guardian like Zechairah beside him, he accomplished wonderful and great things to the hilt. Embrace godly friends and associations that you may be blessed with and closely obey all their advices. Proverbs 12:15”…. he who heeds counsel is wise.”

Sadly, somewhere midway Uzziah got distracted and when he was successful and strong, he allowed his heart to go awry. He boldly and brashly entered the temple to burn incense for the Lord, which was a sacred duty assigned to the priests and when he turned down the advices of other priests who confronted him, the Lord punished him instantly with leprosy. All his earlier great works were forgotten and he was isolated and stayed as a leper the rest of his life. Alas, a single moment of pride cost him a great loss! Beware! Stick close to godly people, listen to instructions, wait patiently for the will of God and walk according to His will.

Just want to add a caveat that a great beginning is not good enough; keep the connection with God intact through godly associations and persevere to the end.

God bless you!
