Summary: Fear, it's a little word but it has a big grip on so many people. In this 3 part series we're going to break the power of fear over our lives.

Don’t Live In Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

For the last 2 weeks we have been looking at fear and how to break its power over us.

We see and know that fear is not of God and that there is no fear in Him

1 John 4:18 (NKJV) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

When we come to the place of seeing who God really is, that He is a God of Abundant overflow, then we can truly live a fear free life.

John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

The 3 things that the thief brings to cause fear in peoples lives. (Steal, Kill and Destroy)

Remember fear is:

F- False

Remember, We once lived in his fear, but now we don’t have to anymore.

Romans 8:15 (NKJV) For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

Romans 8:15 (AMP) For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

An expanded interpretive translation of John 10:10 could read this way:

‘The thief wants to get his hands into every good thing in your life. In fact, this pickpocket is looking for any opportunity to wiggle his way so deeply into your personal affairs that he can walk off with everything you hold precious and dear. And that’s not all — when he ‘finished stealing all your goods and possessions, he'll take his plan to rob you blind to the next level. He’ll create conditions and situations so horrible that you'll ‘II see no way to solve the problem except to sacrifice everything that remains from his previous attacks.

The goal of this thief is to totally devastate and lay waste to your life. If nothing stops him, he’ll leave you insolvent, flat broke, and cleaned out in every area of your life. You’ll end up feeling as if you are finished and out of business! Make no mistake — the enemy's ultimate aim is to obliterate you.”

God doesn't want us living in fear. He wants us living in His overflow Abundant Blessings.

John 10:10 (AMP) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

“. . .But I came that they might have, keep, and constantly retain a vitality, gusto, vigor, and zest for living that springs up from deep down inside. I came that they might embrace this unrivaled, unequaled, matchless, incomparable, richly loaded, and overflowing life to the ultimate maximum!”

Think of this, What was God's first command to the human race through Adam and Eve.

Many will say, Don't eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And the reason we say this is because we have been taught that God is always out to mess us up, to get us to fall, and to take what little we have.

Genesis 2:15-17 (NKJV) Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

God’s 1st command was to Bless us. In fact all the commandments of God were given to us to help us and bless us. Man has made them a curse.

Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV) If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;

I believe with all my heart, that God does not want a life for his kids of constant fears and worries, But he wants us to have a “Calm and peaceful life”.

But Pastor haven’t you seen all that going on in the world. Yes and I have seen how God will take good care of us, also.

Psalm 37:25 (NKJV) I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

Psalm 37:28 (NKJV) For the LORD loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

Isaiah 41:13 (NKJV) For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'

When the pronouncements of Jesus coming into the world, God over and over showed that He didn’t want His people in fear.

Luke 1:13 (NKJV) But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

Luke 1:30 (NKJV) Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

Matthew 1:20 (NKJV) But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 2:8-14 (NKJV) Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Jesus told us not to fear and get caught up with all Anxieties.

Luke 12:32 (NKJV) Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

He told us what to do and that is to trust Him and everything is going to work out.

Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV) "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

God’s word gives us the comfort of knowing that all is going to work out.

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

Isaiah 43:1-3 (NKJV) But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

3 For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior
