Summary: ~When Jesus has accomplished all the work that God sent Him to do, He will at that time return everything back to God the Father as it was in the beginning, "that God can be all in all."

1ST.COR.15: 16-28 JESUS TURNS ALL BACK TOO THE FATHER 11-23-13

~When Jesus has accomplished all the work that God sent Him to do, He will at that time return everything back to God the Father as it was in the beginning, "that God can be all in all."

~ There are folks that think that the only reason God sent His Son into the world was to die in sinful man's place there on the cross, and that certainly was a most important part of what Jesus accomplished.

* But Adam & Eve failed too carry out Gods command that we find in;

>Gen.1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: (bring into subjection)

Adams fall brought much heartache and all kinds of problems into the human race.

The first Adam, because of sin, was unable to fulfill this directive. The "last Adam", because of his perfect sinlessness, is and will be able to subdue all creation to its intended purpose, to bring glory too God.

>Num.14:21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

* THE LAST ENEMY TO BE DESTROYED IS DEATH:

This is the goal to which all of Christ's work is pointed. The last enemy to be completely destroyed under the heel of the conquering King will be death, the serpent's "offspring"

>James 1:13-15 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

"Death" at the end of a slow process of decay, has been a part of man's nature since Eden, its plain to see as we look in the mirror, our bodies are slowly deteriorating that is, we can plainly see that we're not young as we once were.

~But now, through Christ, death will finally be destroyed -- not just offset or neutralized, but altogether done away with.

~ So its true, Jesus did come to pay our sin debt, but as His 1000 year reign comes to a close all the other evil things Satan has cause will have been defeated, Satan will be cast into the lake of fire, death and hell will be destroyed, and when all the enemies of man has been taken care of, then Jesus will return to God all rule and authority as it was before sin came into the picture.

----------

~LISTEN; Paul had more trouble out of the Corinthian believers than any other church, he wrote at least 3 epistle to them we're know of.

1st. cor.--2nd cor. And another one is mentioned in;

1st.cor. 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

~We're not told every thing Paul said in that particular letter.

----------------------

~ The Corinthians believers believed that Jesus rose from the dead but many didn't believe in the resurrection of dead believers, so Paul explains it to them, we'll start with verse 16

--------

>1st. Cor.15:

16For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

If Jesus is the firstfruits of our resurrection, does that mean He was the first one raised from the dead?

No, we have the record of the widow's son in the days of Elijah (1 Kings 17:17-24) and Lazarus (John 11:38-44) and Eutychus (Acts 20:7-12), among others.

Each of these was resuscitated from death, but none of them were resurrected.

Each of them was raised in the same body they died in, and were raised from the dead to eventually die again. Resurrection isn't just living again; it is living again in a new body that will be perfectly suited for life in eternity, we'll recognize each other, as our bodily features will be evident.

Our resurrected glorified body will be similar too Jesus glorified body; He could walk through the walls as the doors were closed.

>John 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst,--

>1 John 2: 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

~Jesus was not the first one brought back from the dead, but He was the first one resurrected, He had a glorified body.

-------------------

Being the "first fruits" means others will follow. Christ was the firstfruits of the larger group of those whom God has chosen for salvation.

------

21For since by man (Adam) came death, by man (Jesus the God man) came also the resurrection of the dead.

22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. -- The rapture.--

~ Adam was the first man in the old creation, and, like him, all of his sons die physically.

~ Christ is the first man in the new creation, and, like Him, all of His sons will live physically, in our new physical glorified body.

---------

>Rom. 5:12-19 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

~Gen. 3 makes it clear that this one man, Adam, brought sin to the human race by disobedience. ---- It was not the sins of Adam's lifetime, but the one original sin which allowed death.

~Let's be sure and notice the parenthesis beginning with verse 13 and ends with verse 17. (--) Pauls giving these verses for a better understanding.

13(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

14Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, (Adams exact original sin) who is the figure of him that was to come.

~Even before the Law of Moses was given, physical death attested to the presence of sin in Adam and all his dissidence. --- Sin brought its deadly effects on the entire race.

>15But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

16And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

(Gods grace takes care of all sin)

17For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; --- much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

* LISTEN-- The resurrection of Jesus leads to the resolution of all things.

~In raising Christ from the dead God has set in motion a long chain of events that will bring about the final destruction of death, and also of God's being once again, as in eternity past, 'all in all.'

~The resurrection of Christ makes the resurrection of believers both necessary and inevitable. His resurrection demands our resurrection since otherwise death would remain undefeated

--------

~In Ephesians 1:9-10, Paul reveals God's eternal purpose in history:

>9Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

>10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: -- The appointed time of the historical ages.

The O.T. believers didn't fully understand Gods great plan, it was hid from them.

-----

>Rom.16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, --

----------

24Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. -- kings--presidents--the devil and his demons.--

-------

~Here in our text verses he looks forward to the time when all things are resolved in Jesus Christ and He presents it all back to God the Father, giving glory to the God who authored this eternal plan of the ages.

----------

25For he must reign, till HE hath put all enemies under his feet. 26The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27For HE (FATHER) hath put all things under his feet. ~then Paul explains~ But when HE saith all things are put under him; it is manifest (evident) that HE is excepted, (an exception) which did put all things under him.

The Father has put all things under Christ feet other than Himself. He is the exception.

* He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet:

Jesus will destroy the opposing armies of the world at Armageddon, (Rev.19:11-15) the antichrist and the false prophet are cast into the lake of fire alive, (Rev.19:20) their the very 1st to go into the lake of fire, Satan will soon follow, (Rev.20:10) along with all unrepentant sinners as a result of the White Throne Judgment of the lost. (Rev.20:15)

----------

Paul here refers to the 1,000 year reign of Jesus described in Rev.20:1-6.

~And then after the millennium, there will be a final, Satan inspired rebellion Rev.20:7-10.--Which God the Father will destroy as He sends fire down from heaven. -- The last enemy that's destroyed is death.

And finally and at last "all enemies are put under His feet"

--------

>Psalm 110: 1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

------

28And when all things shall be subdued unto him, (subject to Christ) then shall the Son also himself be subject unto HIM that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

~LISTEN- The submission of Jesus to the Father doesn't come from any inferiority. Instead, it comes from the administrative order of the Godhead.

-------

* Then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him:

~This doesn't mean as some seem to think, that Paul subordinated the Son too the Father.

~When Paul says that the Son is subject to the Father, he is not speaking of the Son in terms of His essence, (substance) but in terms of His function, or ministry, as the incarnate Son.

----------

~ Paul's statement is best understood dispensationally. At this present time the administration of the messianic kingdom is given to the Son.

~ But at the conclusion of the messianic kingdom, this function will be returned to the Father that God may be all in all.

~There'll be no need of a mediator, any longer as every one will be in the very presents of God as well as God the Son.

~Following the kingdom era, after Jesus has reigned until all enemies are subject to Him, He will deliver over the earthly, millennial kingdom to the Father for entrance into the eternal state.

---------

LISTEN; The home of the Bride will be the pearly white city that we read about in Rev. 21: & 22. ~ Our new home will be suspended just above the new earth, for all the people on the new earth to see.

~Listen, Jesus will be with His bride at that time, He will come and go at will too the new earth, and so will we. -- God the Father will also reside there we're told in the next chapters.

~If you'll recall a few weeks ago we talked about this old world being destroyed with fire and fervent heat at the same time the White Throne Judgment of the lost is underway. In 2nd. Pet 3:-- and after that all things will be made new.

------------

~Following the kingdom era, after Jesus has reigned until all enemies are subject to Him, He will deliver over the earthly, millennial kingdom to the Father for entrance into the eternal state.

---------

>Rev.21:1-5 1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

-------

>Rev.22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it--

-------

~So Jesus will be there with His Wife, the Church, in the New Jerusalem, the pearly White city.

He will forever more reside over the New earth, His Kingdom there shall be no end.

> Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

> Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.
